By in Venezuela,

Trekkin' through that galaxy, are we, Benny?
How's he even driving with one hand down and the other busy with a bla-RADAR?

^He's not even looking at the space road either! he could bump into some Space Police Units and arrest him for careless space-driving!

Bring the Classic Space on Huwbot!! I never understood the naming of some of these sets, this seems like it wouldn’t “trek” much, more of a short range shuttle. But still... CLASSIC SPACE!!!

^^ Nah, he's safe--Space Police hadn't been invented yet!

^ CS had the best names, so creative.

I love the notched wedge plates!

This designer must have liked Star Trek. “Trekkor?”

It even looks so much like the enterprise.

Benny went back in time and placed himself in Lego sets. He wasn’t there before.

Funnily enough, was just playing TLM2 videogame and unlocked a Classic Space set as a vehicle. It wasn't this one though, I think it was 497/928.

On the note of TLM2 videogame, one of the Red Astronauts actually has a (new*) name! It's "Denny." That's a good sign to me that we'll see another CS set for TLM2 later this year, hopefully it has a Black one in it too! Heck, I'd even love if we got a new Classic Space styled theme, but that might be wishful thinking.

*Linkin' Leroy was also a Red Classic Spaceman, but he was actually from a CS based game and not a LEGO Movie.

^ You know, they should do a classic space spinoff of the Lego Movie. They did it with ninjago and Batman. Perhaps with Benny as the main character...

The Lego Space Movie...
Ehh still working on the name.

By in Poland,

It would surely be cool if Benny had a show that featured Blacktron, Ice planet, etc. Heck, my little brother and I must've made 6 seasons of it back in the day.

A second space squad with Red and Black (and maybe Green? Grey? Purple? Orange? Either or all) seems a foregone conclusion.

Man I used to love that set with the hinged wings... I used to fold them forward for landing like it was a Tomcat.

it's an OG Benny! and he's riding a big white manta ray!

By in Finland,

I never really liked these white CS craft. The gray ones looked better.

Oh, this brings back memories...

Back in the day sets were given different names in the US/CA to the rest of the English speaking world. In the UK this was called "Swing-Wing Sky Bike".

I think I prefer the US name :)

This set is so cute.

Just of this set in the mail on Friday, recent purchase off eBay. Lucky to get a mint condition minifig with it.
The Benny’s space squad set really hit a huge nostalgia nerve with me. Really hope that LEGO releases another classic space themed set in the near future.

I remember getting this from Woolworths on a trip to Scarborough in 1988, when these sets were still £1.49. Still got it, even though the red bit on the front and the hoses needed replacing over the years.

Even though it's a small set, this is definately one of my Classic Space favorites! As a kid I used all my LEGO to build a Battlestar Galactica MOC complete w/two hanger bays. I had 3 of these sets in each bay as my Vipers! Well, I had 5 of these sets and a 6th pieced together set, that was mostly in old gray. He was the Squad Leader :) Thank you Huwbot, this RSOTD put such a huge smile on my face!
