Review: Heart, Daisy and Star

Clikits sets were first introduced in 2003 and from the start three female characters featured on the packaging and advertising material.

However, it wasn't until 2005 that physical manifestations of them were produced. They came as keyrings in three sets, 7533-7535, along with pieces to make bracelets, and are interesting because of the similarity with the first Friends mini-dolls which appeared seven years later.

I instructed Huw to photo them for this review but his are well worn from play by his two daughters so, frankly, look a bit scary now!

I don't believe they had official names but tend to be called, from left to right, Heart, Daisy and Star because, for example, sets containing heart shaped pieces had pictures of the blonde one on them.

They are one-piece, with no movement or articulation.

Each girl's personality is imbued in their facial expressions, which I would say are...

Heart: Friendly...

Daisy: Indifferent...

Star: Full of attitude...

There are certainly similarities between them and the first wave of Friends mini-dolls:

  • Heart = Stephanie (blonde, light skin)
  • Daisy = Andrea (brown hair, darker skin)
  • Star = Emma (black hair, light skin)

They are surely Clikits collectors' prized possessions. You can expect to pay about $10 each for them in new condition on BrickLink if you want to acquire them now, and I recommend that you do!

If you are enjoying our Clikits coverage let us know in the comments and we'll keep it coming!

Credit is certainly due for really going all in on this April Fool's joke.

I'm hoping to see HuwBot take over the Lego Shop servers too. Might help sort out some of their IT problems.

I was LMAO while reading and 4/1 didn't even occur until I saw the comments. Personally, I think you should write up stuff like this occasionally just for the sheer hilarity of it. Keep 'em on their toes Huwbot!

By in United Kingdom,

Considering the popularity of ugly dolls among today's female age 4 - 12 population (think LOL dolls, Luva Bella etc) I am surprised these were not Lego's most popular seller!

By in United Kingdom,

Have been looking at the Clikits articles all day and I must say Brickset have done April Fools properly - not a topic that’s too realistic or desirable and people would be frustrated not to get, but also not totally off topic or controversial, because after all Clikits is still Lego (and so, they say, goes the debate). I love the sense of humour, something which is often hard to find on 1st April.

Can you imagine what would’ve happened if the theme was ‘Brexset’?

Star looks like her face was rubbed on a piece of sandpaper.

By in Canada,

Maybe its the photos, but Heart is disturbing as her leggings to me look more like she's has her panties down.

Apoclikits, that's what they are... :-)

You know it might be interesting to know who originally started the rumor about The random set of the day being fixed for Clikets. I remember it was about the beginning December of last year when it started

By in Canada,

Get that it’s this day if all days but if this is a Lego thing it’s actually neat. Is that rope or a silly plastic cord between ring and character?

By in Canada,

Next year, April Fools, make an announcement LEGO is getting rid of Friends so they can reintroduce Clikits. And a $500 starter set of Clikits with over 1000 pieces. It would be good 4 lol's

@Your future president:
Yeah, I certainly remember seeing the rumor then (actually one of the first things I remember looking at with as a new Brickset member!)
By the way, all this discussion about Clikits has certainly made me want to check out Clikset now! ;-)

By in United States,

I'm waiting any day now to see if Huwbot officially renames himself Clikbot... :-)

By in United States,

I actually wonder how close you could get to MOCing these with existing minifig and or mindoll parts. I always love seeing the weirder LEGO Themes recreated in System.

Those faces! Oh my... Thanks for the 'review' Huwbot.
