Random set of the day: Yellow Beams with Connector Pegs
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 874 Yellow Beams with Connector Pegs, released in 1979. It's one of 12 Technic sets produced that year. It contains 38 pieces.
It's owned by 154 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

That's a lot of yellow. Huwbot's definitely on a Technic accessories pack binge, right now.
Maybe he really does require maintenance and this is his way of telling us?
I'm thinking we might be starting a bit of a Technic kick with Huwbot, except he's choosing all the weird sets...
Yeah..."Sets"
:-)
West of Clikits, South of City, and East of Star Wars I see this weird Technic city.
Clickits for boys, round 2!
This is probably one of the weirdest Technic sets I've seen, and that's because it ISN'T weird. It's just a bunch of beams and pins with no purpose.
Very well designed set.
Hmmm . Yellow.
I still remember the day my Dad brought this home for me as one of the happiest days of my life! A true classic.
@SeekerBear: Welcome to the world of accessory packs!
Why are there so many Technic part packs?
^ because technic is Awesome.
^^because why not.

Best answer ever!
Well that’s exactly what it says on the tin alright...
I bet nowadays it would come with an instruction manual of about 500 pages.
And of course, a sticker sheet!
But why no Jeep?
;-)
Has the card board box been more expensive than the parts?
I still have it assembled, with the instructions framed beside it...
Hot beamage action :D
I wonder how much is worth a used copy of this with no box...
I like how it is all neatly arranged, but they seem to use a lot of illegal (non-)connection techniques here
No brick separator and no instructions?
Not even numbered bags?
Definitely a 16+ Technic Expert Builder set!
Yellow beams are the BEST beams
If I have the parts in my spares, can I say I own this set used?
I've been trying to bricklink this for years
I still prefer the B model of this set...
Every kid's dream set.
You can make some blocky, yet anatomically correct nude MOCs with this pack
It's the supposedly secret LEGO Technic "Build your own Pac-Man" set.

True, very true.
I bet this set brought countless people out of their dark ages, y'know, since it's so remarkable and stuff.
Would love to see this set at Lego shop at home right now. Lego still do 16 stud beams (3703) but has not done any in yellow (a very basic colour) for a very long time (you can get white, red, blue, blueish-gray, dark blueish-gray, black, lime and dark yellow). And non-friction pins in gray would be welcome as well.
Like if you actually counted the pieces.
Really? Not tan? Unforgivable. :P
