Yes it's ugly, yes it's weird, but you know what? It's a dinosaur, and dinosaurs are always cool.

He’s pretty happy to see that 7000.

He might be a bit lumpy, but he's certainly cute!

He looks like he got stuck inside of a cruise ship, with the head and tail being the only actual parts of his body...

I have no idea what the legs might be, though. Definitely not legs. Maybe this is a shipwrecked cruise ship?

By in Netherlands,

Just to see how much brick-built dino's "evolved" look at the 2020 brick-built T-rex from a Magazine.

Look at him, he is just happy to be included.

He's certainly a happy little pupper, isn't he?

There is nothing right about this set. At all. I'm flabbergasted that anyone at LEGO thought this was a good idea.

And look at the other sets in the theme. Horrific! (Nevermind that two of them aren't even dinosaurs.)

It all smacks of the laziness & complacency in design that led to LEGO's 'troubles'.

As a counterpoint, of sorts, take joy from last year's 75228 for perfection, at the same scale as this abomination, in the execution of representing a dewback. Now THAT is cute!

This looks amazing. Not a good amazing, but amazing nonetheless

It looks like he's had a teleport accident with a church organ...

It's so bizarre.
Man, I don't even remember these.
Who at Lego thought this were a good idea?

The manifesto of optimism - when you can still smile after being jammed into a 2000s Hogwarts roof. Stop giving this guy so much hate when he is just displaying an important virtue.

This looks... weird. And the rest of the "babys" in the same line do too. And the large ones aren't even Lego.
What a shame.

I thought these were wonderful when they were released, and bought at least one of each of them.

Love the Monument Valley backdrop of the box art.

Has anyone noticed they gave this beauty away for just $3???

I agree it's probably one of the ugliest sets in Lego history. Nonetheless, the puppy might actually strike a tender note in our cold XXI century hearts.

To be completely fair to Lego, this was their first shot at brick built dinosaurs. And as for the bigger ones, they were more involved than current single piece dinosaurs, and I think that the body halves are versatile enough that they could be intergrated into larger mocs.

The real rough part here is a combination of the specialised parts and the budget, and I think that had this gone for a couple more years, they would have progressed leaps and bounds. Think the creator animal polybags each year.

Baby ankylosaurus > baby yoda. Also, there's the baby but not an adult ankylosaurus?

Amen! Your comment gave me such a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, that I threw up in my mouth a little bit ; )

On a serious note I bet this little menace is just jolly at the thought of some innocent bystander accidentally stepping on him. Ankylosaurus? More like I-Will-Straight-Up-Destroy-A-Foot-O-Saurus.

This is the only one I own technically, but my sister has all of the other sets.

It's the next evolution in virgin births. Now the mother isn't even necessary!

I wish Lego would sell Dinos like this. I'd buy a few if I could buy them individually at a reasonable price.

The plain presence of the number 7000 makes this set's packaging so much better.

They kinda do with the recent 122005-1: T. rex magazine Gift.

I know it's not available worldwide but they just started doing this series of brick-built dinos via the 2020 Jurassic World Magazine.

If you squint really hard and stare at it for a minute...

...it still looks awful.
