Seems like minifigure fashion will never revisit the female pigtails hairstyle.

Did any notice that Huwbot is in a roll with the large Town theme?

Seventh in the last 9 days?

What a happy pair of paramedics and their sweet ride.

^ LEGO Town was a happy place.

By in Turkey,

My cousin had this set, and the companion Police van. He gave them to me after he thought he was done with Lego back in the 90's. I'm proud to say I still have them built.

Sure is a lot of Classic Town lately, but nobody's in the comments going "wow this sure is weird" because it ain't something like Bionicle or Clikits.

@560heliport, I reckon its because of their four wide vehicles & planes and their buildings had baseplates, depth and the odd cypress tree.

I’d even love an updated version if they brought it back with a bit more texture.

What about ejection through the back window, like in that brilliant Top Gear UK segment about ambulances? :D

By in Netherlands,

Still in my collection, played a lot with that van!

This should be used as a St John's Ambulance at a Lego festival.

By in Spain,

I had it when I was a kid and had hours of play. My very first medical set and one of the first set I had. It brings me very sweets memories.
And as I said yesterday, I'm amazed about how useful could be 63 parts. Nowadays this is just a polybag :(

It's still on my collection with the printed parts damaged. That's why I managed to get another one in better condition :)

Maybe Huwbot took a wrong turn in Town looking for Clickits.

I bought this a few years ago on eBay. Very cute little set! However does not fit in with the new hospital lol

Looks pretty good for the era from which it came. Keep in mind, in 1981 many parts of the US didn't have paramedics back then. Our rescue squad was only eight years old at this time and was using someone else's leftovers from the '60s. Thus, smaller ambulances were still common. The "first out" ambulance in my town at that time was based on a1965 International Scout Travelall. And even to this date in Europe, versions of the "A" class patient transport ambulance is still being built on car and light SUV chassis.

I've built quite a few over the years, and usually, made mine fairly realistic inside, with lots of compartments and plenty of working room while still being relatively in scale with other LEGO vehicles. This usually means six stud wide cabs and eight wide "boxes" or patient compartments.

Seeing as how Playmobil has them--I think LEGO really should offer a cervical collar as a part; along with a Stokes basket and spine board. And especially the Jaws of Life for technical rescues. MEGA did (cutter and spreader), and to this date, it is the only MEGA Bloks part I won't throw out and still continue to use in my builds. So far, we only get the stretcher (and the current version has no wheels--which means it fits in aircraft better, but unrealistic for ground ambulances), a suitcase, and a thingy that sort of looks like a LifePak, and the really good ones that are made with stickers. I wish LEGO would give us a printed tile for a monitor/defibrillator.
