Yes! Exoforce! The theme came out before my time, but I still think it looks so cool!
By the way, this is THE SET that made Mark Stafford kill Teal!

So, your saying that one day Mark Stafford will experience death by teal?

Also, exoforce was one of my favorite themes of all time. I would love to see it make a comeback.

By in Australia,

I loved Exo-force so much, and this set was just beautiful.

The community is so weird. Why don’t we think he saved purple???

I must be missing something. I knew that teal was gone for a while, but I don’t know the story, maybe BrickSet should do an article explaining the history of teal? Hint hint...

Mark: "Purple, Obi Wan never told you the truth."
Purple" "He told me enough, he told me you killed teal!"
Mark: "No... I am teal."

By in United States,

I heard a rumor there’s still boxes of these unopened in the BrickFair inventory.

This set was not a seller.

I always wanted this set as a kid. Cool colors, neat design, fun name, and a ton of robots. Still haven't gotten around to it though

By in Canada,

Can anyone actually imagine this set in teal?

Q:
How do you teal a lego set?

A:
You grab it & walk out of the tore without topping to pay for it, tupid!

By in Hungary,

Ah, the infamous teal-killer. Remember wanting it at the time, but seeing in hand pictures of it made me reconsider. The boxart is the most favorable angle for it.

By in Finland,

It's not The Pink Panther... it's The Purple Panther! (theme plays)

Always go back and forth a bit on whether I actually want this set. Like all the others in Exo-Force’s third and final wave it’s a bit clunky and messy

A very exciting pocket money set for me (£10??!), bought mostly for the colour scheme, so take that, teal. I was also impressed with how many robots were in it! Those rubbery spikes have inspired a fair few spaceships and dragons' colour schemes...

Purple would have lived either way, it was needed for the next Harry Potter Knight Bus (4866) just a few years later.
That's what brought on the teal-killing comment originally – purple would have been revived if it had been killed off at that point, so teal's sacrifice turned out to be pointless in hindsight.

Wow...I 'heard' that in the voice of "Binky the clown" from the Garfield cartoons. I think I need coffee...

I want to see this set in teal now.

Well, think of it this way. We never talk about how Beowulf saved Heorot. We talk about how he killed Grendel. And then Grendel's mom. Basically, by doing one, he accomplished both, but it's the more heroic half of the equation that gets all the attention.

I actually ended up with this set, I think from a raffle at a convention. At first I just thought, "hey, cool, dark purple parts," but then I realized the part selection is pretty bad. There's really only three different elements in dark purple, and one of them is that horky spike with the yellow rubber tip. Still, I've managed to put some of the other two parts to use, which I guarantee I couldn't say if they were teal.

I love Exo-Force and have every set including extras for the combo models and alternate builds except for this set cause even as an avid fan it was just plain awful imo

By in United States,

I’m surprised at all the dislike of this set. While it’s not one of the best of the theme I feel like it captures what the theme was fairly well. Especially for the baddies.

Remember though, Teal was admittedly in a rocky place before Mark ever got there. Its speculated that part of the reason Bionicle 2003 never released earth or wind Matoran that year was to avoid using the rare colors associated with those tribes, teal for the air Matoran and bright violet on the earth ones. Neither color was really used in Bionicle past 2002.

Those dual molded Purple spike pieces look beautiful!

Anyone notice they printed cracks in the plastic on the box art? I don't think that helped the sales.

I remember Brickfair Virginia 2010 gave these away by the pallet loads at the end of the convention to exhibitors...pallet loads!

I had this set as a young'un. I loved the feel of those rubber-tipped points!

And when I started to go to Brickfair VA (2014) they were still getting rid of them via game prizes...
