Typical, I shopped yesterday...
Call and ask if they add the points. They’re normally very nice.
Every time I make a large order, 2x VIP points comes about a month after. I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories, but... I'm starting to believe!
@nashikens, yes, but are they nice enough to add a 30 day grace period? Didn't think so lol.
I have sets in my bag but I didn't get double vip points idk why
Good way to cash in on everyone being at home for extended periods of time.
Did my corona virus shopping. TP check, Food check, Lego's check!

Well they did have 2X Mar 16-30, 2018 and 2X Mar 23-31, 2019...
Every time there's a 2x VIP points someone comes on to bemoan that they've just placed an order.
But do a quick search on Brickset for "double vip" and you'll see that this always happens in the run-up to Easter and Christmas. At least, it has done for the last few years.
Once you know it's going to happen, just save your shopping until it happens!

So, you're saying there's some sort of logical pattern here.... interesting. Will have to research this, find clues, and solve the mystery! LOL. Seriously though thanks for enlightening me on my massive failure of observation, maybe next year I'll spend my birthday money a month late. See TLG, I'm getting wise to your schemes (very slowly - w/the help of others who pay attention).

@capnrex101 - Not sure if you can track the history of 2X further back, and maybe there is a spot on the website to put this information for other guests?
@kkoster79 There is always a trove of great information on Brickset, but your report here on the pattern of 2X points might be to me the most valuable gem of all. I guess it also just highlights my own lack of observation. Thanks for sharing.
40370 Steam Engine GWP appears to be out of stock in the U.S. At least that is what LEGO customer service just told me when I asked why one did not show in my cart.

Same.
I was wondering what I could order to get that train. And now with the double VIP, I would have made a bigger effort to find something but if there is no more bonus anymore, I'll revert back to amazon which is usually much cheaper.
Think I'll wait until Monday when the Easter Egg becomes the giveaway. Already got the train.
But here is a good example of "What Can Brickset Do For You?", if there was a far enough advance calendar of upcoming 2x points events. This promotion isn't on the monthly store calendar.
Get points vs. save money...see, here in Canada 'Indigo' (mostly/formerly known as Chapters) has a great many sets on 20% off. Not everything mind you, and they're lacking a few sets...but also free shipping for a limited time; so (rocks hand back/forth)
Double points?! Oh, let me run off to my local Lego store... Oh wait. Right. :(

I'm with you, I just placed a large order too , not wanting to miss out on the train giveaway. Hopefully they haven't invoiced yet so I might still get them. Fingers crossed.
I am not bothered about the GWP: 'Steam Engine', so I will pass this time on the double VIP points. I just bought something on Amazon this week, and given how much cheaper those bargain deals I scored on Amazon are, I felt much more of a 'VIP' ordering there, given my funds and Lego allocated funds especially are always limited, and I can only spend my money once. Maybe it might change if TLG has/had a more appealing 'freebie'. There will be more double and perhaps even triple VIP point periods with cool GWP in the future.
Do you get double points on Pre-orders? Was going to order the Razorcrest in any case, but mights as well do it now otherwise.
