Random set of the day: Blue Buggy
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 4949 Blue Buggy, released in 2006. It's one of 23 Racers sets produced that year. It contains 24 pieces.
It's owned by 72 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.
Help me come to life! If you like the set I've chosen for you today, please pledge your support for me on LEGO Ideas so I have a chance of becoming an official LEGO set!

Uh oh. This may be the beginning of a new Racers obsession for Huwbot.
Everybody settle in for the long haul... Huwbot’s on a roll again.
And still 180 more to go for this year. 9 were in 2011, 11 in 2012 (7 which were the Ferrari promos, but didn't have the theme name), and 1 2013 (a BMW, also didn't have the Racers theme on the bag.)
I could not be less convinced at this point that these are chosen at random
@magmafrost:
Nope. Purely random:
1: Do I post a set from Clikits? Heads = yes, tails = advance to the next question.
2: Do I post a set from Belville? Heads = yes, tails = advance to the next question.
3. Do I...
That's a cute looking car, I might try to build it using the spare parts I have.
Back to back racers... I don't mind as long as it's not clickits. I like this one better than yesterdays RSOTD.
Déjà vroom
Gosh, never seen this. But as a boy brought up on Tamiya RC cars and Mini 4wd, this is quite clearly a Tamiya Avante! One of the most desirable and beautiful radio control cars of all time.

Well that’s certainly more accurate than a lot of the names these guys get
Nowadays these polybags would be given away free on the cover of a magazine, so not much more to say.
As a kid I loved LEGO and Hot Wheels, so I enjoyed picking up some of these sets. According to Brickset I have several of the sets from this year, including Carbon Star, but I don’t remember seeing these poly bags.
And back then I used to make a loop from Target to Toys R Us back to my apartment, because where I was in NJ everything was right there and it was glorious. So much LEGO available!
