Minifig Horses in a small set , really miss that from LEGO in recent times.

Now with the Medieval Blacksmith bringing back horses in non-licensed, hopefully we'll see more horses again in future sets. (not including Friends minidoll horses as those are different)

1989 even had 4 smaller , 1 medium and 2 large sets with horses.

So I assume the "dungeon" being referred to is the jail cart. Are they hunters with a dungeon, or hunters who are hunting dungeons? Who knows

I don't think those guys were really paying attention in Knight School, because they're making the prisoner walk, alongside the open cell. It's like, they missed a couple of vital cognitive leaps, there.

Then again, the prison is just walking along the carriage doing some kind of medival, "Put your hands up!" dance move.

What an odd slice of medival life.

Legendary. I miss Castle. Heck, I even miss Lord of the Rings.

I got this set for my birthday many years ago after I got 6054.

The blue armored knight with his full dark grey helmet was really cool as were the somewhat rare white flags.

Many, many years later I discovered that someone at Lego at some point at least intended the red collared Forestman to be Little John from the Robin Hood and his Merry Men legend.

Are they just hunting for random people to put in the dungeon?

Those are Sir (not to be confused with King) Richard's knights hunting for the renegades known as the 'Forestmen' to put into the dungeons of King's Mountain Fortress (King possibly referring to the king of Tarenta AKA King Richard Lionheart from the Royal Knights).

There have been renegades as early as set 6055 from 1985, but they ony really banded together in 1988 (some guys from North America claim it was 1987.,.)

I loved this kit when I would set up the Castle theme for our Christmas LEGO village back when I was a kid at home with my parents. The small castle (Black Falcon Fortress?) connected with the inn and small blacksmith’s and weaponry stalls would form the village market and this dungeon cart would be parked in the center as a public-humiliation spectacle. Good memories from long ago. Wish we had the time and room to set up our LEGO collection as a Christmas village again...

Not a whole lot of lore here but here we go.

The Crusaders were one of the earliest good factions of the Castle theme and were relatively generic knights.

The Forestmen were a rag tag group of forest dwellers who'd steal from wealthy kingdoms and redistribute the money to poorer peasants, making them the first major neutral faction.

Here we see a Crusader prison chariot that's just captured a Forestman, likely right after a burgling.

The forest men are so misunderstood. All they want to do is hide in trees and bushes all day and shoot any passing soldier.

So, when they find this mythical "dungeon", are they planning to squeeze it inside that tiny little cage?

All these comments about hunting for dungeons is making me envision this medieval prison wagon locking up captured Space Police cells (still containing their hapless smiling Blacktron figures within!)

You know, I could simply get this and have a LEGO D&D Adventuring Party! Scenery, monsters and other species may be a slight problem though.

Shame they’re Crusaders and not the guys who came next or this could be Dungeons and Dragon Knights

Legend has it they’re still hunting for that dungeon to this day.
