Guidelines for contributing articles for publication at Brickset

This article provides guidelines for preparing articles for publication here at Brickset, primarily to make it easier for us to do so.
Format
Documents can be submitted in any common file format such as Word or Google Docs. Text formatting, other than headings and hyperlinks, will generally be removed, by processing the text with an HTML cleaner.
Summary, pros and cons
Please include the summary information we put in the grey box at the top somewhere in your submission.
Spelling
The site uses British English. Our spell-checker will highlight American English spellings, and we will correct them if needed.
Making it easier to read on screen
It's hard to read large blocks of text on screen, so please split it into paragraphs that occupy five or six lines at most.
Image size and placement
Images should be sent separately to the text, somewhere around 2000px on the largest edge: we can resize if necessary. They should be landscape or square and not portrait, although multiple images of minifigs to be placed next to each other can be.
Add placeholders matching the filenames to the text to indicate where they should be inserted e.g.
{pic01.jpg}
Images should be positioned underneath the text that describes or refers to them.
Links to sets, parts and minifigs
If you wish to refer to sets, parts or minifigs, use these shortcuts, which will be converted into hyperlinks on the number followed by the item name. There's no need to add the name manually, and doing so causes us extra work, as we need to remove it.
- set:<number>
- minifig:<number>
- partid:<element number>
- designid:<design number>
The < > are not needed. For example: (the words SET and MINIFIG should be in lower case):
I think SET:6876 is the best Blacktron set and MINIFIG:sp001 is my favourite space minifigure.
Will be converted to
I think 6876 Alienator is the best Blacktron set and sp001 Blacktron 1 is my favourite space minifigure.
