Review: 41024 Parrot's Perch
Posted by Huw,
Series three of the Friends collectable animals polybag sets has just become available. This new batch of three features a puppy, a fawn and a parrot. 41024, Parrot's Perch, unsurprisingly, features the latter. The parrot is new to this set. To me, it looks a bit fat: parrots tend to be tall and slender, don't they? But I guess it fits in with the style of other Friends animals.
The set itself consists of two parts: a 'cage' and a perch. The cage is open on two sides, so not really much of a cage then! The perch uses a minifig backpack for the food bowl which I believe is new in dark pink.
As with most Friends sets, there are some cool pieces in nice colours, particularly the round 4 x 4 bricks at the base of the stands. At £2.99/$4.99 you can't really go wrong, can you...

My daughter is 5 and has started collecting Friends recently. This set looks a bit sparse and I don't see the play value, though if she insists, I may be tempted to pick up the fawn. Also, I believe the bird is the same mold as the yellow bird in 3065 Olivia's Tree House.
I wasn't going to, but I ended up picking up all 9 of the so-far-released Friends pets polybag sets. I think they're cute and interesting. Maybe not so good in a standard City/Town setting (because the scale is a bit off), but I do like these pet sets. I think they're really cute.
The Fawn set has some parts, but the fawn itself is creeping me out! Don't... look... into.. it's... eyes...
^ I'll take a look at that one next...
Don't like friends, but as always, a nice parts pack. Thanks for the review Huw!
These are great little pocket money sets, but the animals have mostly been a bit odd looking or just that little bit TOO girly for my liking. I've only gone for the squirrel and turtle so far, none of this really interest me either so I'll see what the next three are like.
I find one problem with Friends Pets- their printings are ugly and seems misplaced. Aspecialy on deer (who would look better if they moved eyes on sides) and puppies and rabbits when whole mouth should be put lower on the muzzle. The molds are great and it's shame we don't see them with diferent printing in Lego city.
Not available in the states yet, alas. I'm really keen to pick up several fawns.
Excited about getting these sets and so is my girlfriend and niece
I'm not into Friends, but this set seems really lacklustre. And I agree, that parrot is fat. Nice review though!
