It looks like the video isn't showing. It's either that or you have to log in. I'm very interested to see this.

EDIT: That appears to be overpriced...

By in Canada,

yes...nevermind about being affordable but yes....im getting it and what is up with that oversized R4-P17 dome?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

£95 is too much , it makes the Imperial ship coming september look amazing value . $100-£95 is too much should be $100-£85

By in Canada,

note: you can see the video on lego shop

By in United States,

Another set added to Star Wars, it's a shame that they haven't made a regular version of this yet. I won't buy this, but if Lego comes out with a regular size I will buy it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ I have it.

It looks VERY nice! R4 looks like he is about 4 or 6 studs long. That cockpit looks very nice. I like the detail.

By in Canada,

You can see pictures and a video on it at lego shop @home

4x4 Droid Head!!!!! That's Awesome. The Rest of The set.....No. It's Strange, They Always Chose Minor Ships to be UCS. :/

Gravatar
By in United States,

I know, but I wasn't interested in Legos at that time, and I was too young.

@Crt2 - Are you gonna buy the head on eBay?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The droid head is cool, but it would be cooler if they had the rest of the droid, too, along with the bay he sits in. Just the head seems like a lame cop-out. I'm pretty surprised about this really; US$100 for a set with less than 700 pieces, and no playability or minifigs? Gah. Seems way over-priced, even for a Star Wars set.

And why Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter for UCS? Is there some mandate from Lucas that they have to have so many Clone Wars sets? Where's the Slave I UCS, or something else that's more...interesting? I pretty much agree with FBTB's assertion that the ship shows little creativity in design; it's basically just a giant wedge, and the droid head does look disproportionate. And where is the hyperdrive ring? I'm pretty thoroughly disappointed with this model.

By in United States,

i am getting the star fighter, that is the most amazingly detailed ship ever, i had the original version, it was like the 1st star wars set i ever got

Gravatar
By in Canada,

holy cow!!! $130.99 canadian???????!!!!!!!
=0

Gravatar
By in United States,

Saw the video, still want it
@ iabstract - it is just a head because that is all it is in the movie, a head

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Jarod98: Nah....I Was Just Saying That that part of The Ship was Awesome, Not The Head Itself. ;) I Mean Really, What Could someone Do with a 4x4 Droid Head on it's Own? :D

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I was excited before I saw the picture.... Yeah sure, the bloated astromech head is odd but maybe the price has a few others turned off. I just don't see $100 US in the set. Great pictures though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Doesn't look very appealing to me, then again I've never really been interested in the Star Wars UCS.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

$99.99 US dollars for 676 pieces? This is EVEN more of a rip off than the TRU exclusive Public Transportation Sets...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

name's wrong also.....obi-wan was one of many other jedi who flew a red delta7, as red is the republic's colour. Anakin's yellow starfighters are his own customs to remember tatoonie. the R4-P17 dome only makes it obi-wan's but it can easily be another astromech's dome.....
As for the price..20 cents a piece is quite expensive, starwars sets rarely exceeds 17...
but the design is right on I say
still thinking of getting it as it is apparently 'limited edition' and it will look good on desk :-P

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

cool! i might get :P

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

What? £95 and $100? That's just crazy.
The set does look lovely though...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These prices would be more appropiate prices I think for it's size and piece count
US $ $79.99 Uk £ £69.99 DE 79.99 Can $ $99.99

To me this set doesn't have a shine to it unlike the Imperial Shuttle which looks completly awesome. The price is insanely high for a set that isn't an iconic ship , big , has no figures and not many pieces. I would rather spend £165 more on the Imperial shuttle which is a much better set than this one.

By in Netherlands,

I know I am not the first to complain about this but 100 bucks for 676 pieces!?!?!? What's the world coming to? But as usual in the star wars theme it is incredibly awesome, makes a great gift(because of the price)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just when you think the price can't get worse, BAM!
At this rate, we might be heading to a doubling of price per piece in less than a year, going from 10 cents per brick to near enough 20 cents, and for the UK a steeper increase still what with the near 1:1 ratio on the dollar topping it off. All i can suggest to everyone disappointed about the price (i already have) is this: Don't keep your complaint to yourself or just on here, include Lego in your circle of listeners by sending a letter or email to them stating your concern. It will most probably fall on deaf ears, but at least you would have let them know how you feel, and they might just start getting the message. As much as I love the fact that David Beckham likes Lego, Lego needs to be reminded that the majority of us don't have his income. :oP

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Well perhaps 100 US isn't such a big deal to an adult starwars collector....

I'd be a lot more interested had the set included the, as seen in Movie Episode 2, booster ring. I would've liked to see the ring around the ship and have the entire model nicely displayed on an angle.

Of course, doing the UCS ARC 170 would've been really hot. A design to rival the X Wing no doubt!

Gravatar
By in United States,

what I'm hoping for this: slow seller like UCS batmobile. goes on clearance for $25 and still takes forever to sell out.

won't happen of course, but i can wish ;)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

£95 for 676 pieces!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

When will they make a ucs Slave 1 at that price !!!!!!!????????!!!!!???????

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My excitement at a new UCS model turned to disappointment when I saw the size of the ship, the piece count and the price. Reminds me of the UCS Naboo fighter - not much different to the box standard. Seems Lego are getting even more greedy in calling this a UCS set and setting it at this price!

I for one will hold out on this and chance that it will be had for £50 in some sale or other. Rather put the money towards a good retired UCS model or even towards the new UCS shuttle thats due.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have the ep 2 minifigure scale one and i would love to compare them.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

lego erased the starfighter and also the imperial shuttle from their shop list :-(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Cool, The new droid head is interesting, Not worth 100 bucks though, No way ho-say!
I say, why should I pay £50 extra just 'cos this has UCS on the front????

Gravatar
By in United States,

@everyone who's complaining about the price: Guys, I know that $100 looks really expensive, but in reality, I'm sure that the ship will be about the size of a hundred dollar ship. I mean, I realize that the piece count is smaller, but maybe it's because they've started using bigger, more sturdier pieces (like a studless, flat two by four instead of two studless, flat, two by twos for example...) that make the piece count lower. But anyways, even though it looks small, I'm sure it'll be big. I mean, come on, the CW AT-TE looked miniscule on the box, but was definitely worth $90 when I bought it...

Secondly, even if the ship is too small for its price, when Lego makes their sets, they determine the price first, THEN create the ship. So, depending on who created the ship, it could be bigger than a $100 set (like the Batwing, it should've been $60 instead of $50), or it could be smaller than a $100 set (like the Freeco speeder, not even worth $20 instead of $25...). Honestly, there's nothing you can do about the size, it just depends on who designed the ship.

Gravatar
By in United States,

looks nice. have several UCS sets, this will be last on my list. now when are they going to top thier big FALCON set?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmmm..... I might get it, although when I first heard rumor of 'Obi-Wan's jedi starfighter' I thought it was going to be minifigure scale......Oh well. I'm glad that LEGO is finally bringing out some cheeper UCS sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@the_collector: that may be all you see in the movie, but it is a full droid, and droid bay. Just like R2 in Anakin's starfighter.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

To anybody who has said this set is not over priced. For only £5 more on Lego Shop @home you can buy the Tantive IV set (still a star wars licenced set) and get more than double the part count! Great set, disgusting price!
