What minifigure colours represents you best? - 2022 version
Posted by MeganL,
Edit: the survey had previously only been open to those with a google account. That's now been changed. Thanks to the Brickset member who highlighted this!
When you make a sigfig, what colour parts do you choose?
The Women's Brick Initiative (WBI) has updated the survey we conducted two years ago. Some people use yellow, some use other skin tones. Some have more than one sigfig in different colours. We published the results of the 2020 survey at several LEGO conventions, including Brickworld.
LEGO has created some new skin tones, so we decided to refresh the survey and run it again. Brickset users really came through last time with a few thousand responses, so we hope you don't mind taking it again! To do so, please click on this link. It's quite short - only five questions - so will only take a minute or two.
We would love everyone to take the survey!
Again, the survey can be found here.
Please feel free to share the link with anyone who might be interested, whether they would be considered an AFOL or not.
The results will be published later this year; preliminary results will be shared at the WBI workshop at Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. Thank you for your support!

I don't identify myself with a minifig. But I think using different skintones gives the Lego world more color and variation.
What were the survey results last year? I voted, but must have missed the follow up.
My sigfig uses yellow, I've found that yellow has much better expression choices.
Really interesting question!
I use yellow because there's a better range of faces. I do think one thing Lego's got a lot better about in the last few years is hair diversity, there are far more different hair types and styles than there's ever been, especially in city sets. We've come a long way from the "classic" 70s wig.
I prefer using yellow. But the survey asks what color I would be comfortable with, so in addition I also picked two skin tones that would suit me.
Yellow smiley face... Always! No discrimination, perpetually happy...
The power of the classic Lego mini figures is that they are not male or female and neither have race. So everyone can identify with the blank canvas to fill it in with hair clotting and accessories. The Friends series is a (in my eyes) terrible departure.
