Full list of UK price increases
Posted by CapnRex101,
Unfortunately, the expected price increases have now taken effect in Europe, following their introduction in North America last month.
We have compiled a list of price rises in the UK and the greatest proportional increase belongs to 76948 T. rex & Atrociraptor Breakout, with its price rising by 29%.
However, perhaps most concerning are the increased prices of several Icons sets, including 10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1, 10292 The Friends Apartments and 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine. On the other hand, the cost of 21058 The Great Pyramid of Giza has actually dropped slightly.
View the list below...
Clicking on the titles of each column will rearrange the sets.

Thanks for doing this. Very helpful!
To everyone on the other side of the pond, good luck!
Zad!
Local shops here haven't increased their prices to match Lego but the stock they're holding was bought at a lower price so they can afford to retain the old prices. I've queried in-store (Smyths) about any increases and they've heard nothing from head office. The staff on the shop floor were aware that if they keep their prices lower or discount within a few weeks of release they'll hoover up dissatisfied customers, whether head office know this or cares is another matter.
I've been spending some of my VIP points on digital rewards and colouring sheets for my son as I can't see myself generating many VIP points in the future with these increases.
Thanks for putting this together. very helpful. A couple of things I just noticed: 10265 Ford Mustang has also gone up (now £150), and BTTF set number has minor typo - should be 10300. thanks!
Thanks for compiling this. Just to let you know, 42139 All-Terrain Vehicle is listed twice, and Back to the Future Time Machine has 10230 listed as the set number, which isn't right.
Since we love to beat horses, I am struggling to understand how LEGO can claim inflation and market conditions for these random, sporadic increases from 3 to 29 percent. This feels more like them sitting around a table asking each other, "What do you think folks will pay for this?"
I'm disappointed to see John Lewis have increased all of their prices on day one, with no discounts at the moment. The reward of £30 off if you spend £120 doesn't even cover the increase on the larger sets. It's clear why they created that reward for this month but now not worth using.
Cheers Cap!
It sucks to see so many increases, and even some for Ninjago; the traditionally good value theme... sad times.
Heads up that Hogwarts Icons - Collector's Edition is noted as a £5 increase, but this should be a £40 increase (the % increase is correct).
40478 mini Disney castle figures aren’t correct. It went down in price but says it was an increase of 40 quid
An article similar to the one posted for the US ( https://brickset.com/article/79870/ [na]-last-chance-to-buy-from-lego-com-before-prices-rise) reminding them of price increases might have been beneficial for the UK too. It slipped my mind due to work otherwise I would have bought Home Alone set. Think I'll wait to see if it drops now, refuse to purchase it at the new price
I can see dark times for Lego group ahead from Uk sales especially - The forecast for the next 12 months especially is going to tighten purse strings in households ......... Just to note, material wise the cost of plastics has started to fall....
I knew it was coming but seeing it in reality was a shock.
I feel my wish list will be re-assessed
71775 Nya's Samurai X MECH went up £5 to £104.99.

I don't disagree but LEGO pricing has kind of dominated articles and discussions the past several weeks so there may have been groundswell for all of us to simply move on.
Great for info.... BUT not all is correct please double check...
e.g.
76391 Hogwarts Icons - Collectors' Edition £259.99 £219.99 £5 18%
Should read £40 increase.. For use of filters.. Thanks @CapnNrex101
@CapnRex101 I think the Globe 21332 price needs fixing in the table. It's showing as £69.99 but it's actually £199.99
Jeeze, some of those hikes are a joke. But will Lego inc. see a drop in sales... will be very interesting to monitor. Thankfully I bought what I wanted before this day came, only the 90th Anniversary sets are still on my radar and their price hasn't changed externally.
P.s.
Thanks for the post, its a real eye opener
Oddly the lighthouse came down in price my £5.
I'm guessing 10305 Lion Knights Castle had this rise accounted for, so in better times we might have seen it closer to the 299/305 mark judging from sets in a similar bracket, which might account for the apparent steepness of the original price.
Its going to take some thought and time 'to get use to' these higher prices, as its not like they're ever going to go the other way (down).
It would be interesting to see the Price increases of some of these sets since last year before the Jan increase. If Im not mistaken Assembly Square was 180 and is now 260 after both price increases. Increase of 80 in 9 months

More importantly, will LEGO see a real terms fall in its bottom line? Conceivably, unit or $ sales could drop and profits still rise. It depends in part on how well LEGO has forecast inflation and in part on real terms changes in costs, e.g. increases due to reduced economies of scale.
I think you had the original RRP for 76948 wrong, it was £79.99 previously.
well some of these weren't as bad as feared, or as much as the increase in America, though that may be due to conversion. Most of the expensive ones I have already, there is one still on my list and that hasn't increased as much as I expected, though its still a hefty amount. I think I shall be waiting for Zavvi to restock and have their sales again. The John Lewis discount is still a good thing, it just depends on which set you use it on. I also have a fair amount in VIP points, so that might come in handy now.

The US had their price increases last month.
I think an important thing for all AFOLs and buyers of Lego for their kids or relatives is to empty our wishlists on Lego.com. I have no intention of paying these inflated prices (which had already increased somewhat earlier in the year). It’s sad. New sets will have to go back in to the dark ages for me.
The average appears to be a 15% increase. Very hard to swallow for the already more expensive sets (for instance, the Porsche 911 is now £150!), but TLG must know what it’s doing if people keep paying them.

In the US retailers have slowly but surely increased the prices as part of a month long transition period. Don't assume they'll keep the prices as-is for very long.
I am not surprised the pyramid set has reduced in price, that set is ancient! :-)

Go home, Dad!!
While I’m sure the price increases will boost profits, I have a suspicion the increases are also planned to allow deeper discounts. This may explain the seemingly random percentage pricing bumps.
Here in the US, Costco is carrying more LEGO than ever at very decent discounts. I’ve read retailers are moving even more toward promotional pricing models to attract shoppers with what seem like great deals, even though prices overall are much higher.

Overseas, LEGO Exclusives still regularly get discounted from different outlets. Additionally, I believe AFOL Day discounts aren't as limited as the U.S. If the increases on exclusives allowed the U.S. to see discounts again, I would be less frustrated. The only discounts we currently see in the U.S. are "phantoms" as suppliers are simply holding previous RRP, likely based on their inventory position.
Costco is indeed killing it with LEGO right now. They have a couple of interesting bundles as well as quite a number of sets at around 20% off like the Grocery Truck and BD-1. I've already grabbed the truck and will likely grab BD-1 too if he hasn't already sold out.
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that the Delorean Time Machine is now amazingly back in stock (or at least on backorder for Sept) in the UK website now the price has increased!
Hey, at least 21058 The Great Pyramid of Giza went down 4%! /s
Good luck from across the pond!
£640 saved on purchases previously made based on that list alone.
Blimey
It would be interesting to see price changes for sets that were released before the previous price increases as well. I bought Assembly Square at the original £179, and seeing it now at £259 is a little eye-watering.

I bought it at that price too, an £80 increase in little over 9 months… yeesh.
I wonder what the first set will be that goes the other side of £1,000. Based on increase in set sizes recently, it might no be long...
I thought LEGO had been taking the piss for the last couple of years, but damn.
LEGO be all - hold my beer.
42139 is £56.99 at Argos, so it's just a case of knowing where to look.

Obviously, you know where to look.
I must admit, I can't get too worked up by RRP changes on anything other than Lego exclusives. Actual retail prices fluctuate by as much a 50%, so the odd 20-30% RRP increase might just mean having to be a bit more patient waiting for a realistic price.
I'm sure that many people's Lego spending will decrease, but that will mostly be down to the cost of energy, food, rent/mortgage, etc. The price increase of (some) Lego sets is trivial by comparison.
Personally, the only set from the list above, that's currently on my wishlist, is the Great Pyramid!

To be fair, it's only £99.99 on Amazon, so a reduction on a D2C set would have been preferable!
If you are against these horrible prices, then you have to do simply one thing.
Don't buy any sets.
Or if you have to buy them, wait till they are massively reduced at other retailers.
I haven't bought a Lego set for almost a year because of the crazy prices and Lego's lazy attitude towards sustainability.

In theory, sure, we can make our voices heard through not purchasing. Realistically, though, most of us are not walking away from our hobby and will simply pay the higher prices for those sets we most want and/or can afford.
Bought the UCS AT-AT a few weeks ago in anticipation of the price increase. Will keep it until Christmas.
i think this will help the second hand market no end . some of those increases make used sets look very appealing.

And by absolute coincidence, the moment the price goes up, it's magically back in stock (after being out of stock since before last Christmas).
The prices suck.
Thank you very much for all the earlier warnings, two weeks ago I ordered Medieval Blacksmith. The current price just went from "high, but oh, well" into "well, too high".
I think the most disapointing change is the Assembly Square, as that went up last time too, so now £80 or 45% more expensive than it originally listed for in the UK.
Putting up the prices on the 2 Stuntz sets is also shocking as their RRP/price per piece was already 'very' high.

They'll be half price within a couple of months, as per the 1st wave!
Thanks Lego for hitting us hard in hard times, thanks a lot, enjoy your enormous profits
I wasn't lucky enough to get the few sets I would of liked to have before these price rises due to being self employed and waiting for people to pay my invoices. so now seeing some of the prices I have already knocked of around 50% of the sets i was saving up for. more may have to follow. I have already stopped collecting two themes may reduce it down to a couple. but hay ho.
God some of these are down right disgusting, I cannot believe that TLG will get away with this. Many people won’t just up and leave their hobby, so i expect a gradual decline in sales. Hopefully we see some decent discounts. As for sets missed, @capnrex101, the ninja ultra combo mech has gone up by £15, now £90. That is damn unbelievable.

It said you were in the UK at first. :o)
You think UK has it bad? Take a look at a specialized Lego store in Serbia prices increase:
https://www.kockarium.rs/vesti/poskupljenje-cena-lego-setova-od-1-septembra-2022/
Here's the same table as a spreadsheet with EUR and percent columns, for easier understanding:
https://sheet.zohopublic.eu/sheet/published/9j5vv8cc585ec7118418495d6c8f97306f12f
To complete the info, median pay here is ~500 €. You can see how much money can be spent on lego sets.
The increase of LEGO set prices plus the general increase in all other sections of live will effect even the wealthy mid class (I assume most of us would see themselves in this social group, we are - better we were - able to spend a three digit amount pin LEGO every month).
The hobby will be the first thing to safe money. I don't need a Time Machine or whatever set to survive. But I need heating, hot water, electricity, mobility. So it's obvious that many of us will plan their hobby expenses much more carefully then in the past. Thanks to LEGO making this decision a bit easier in increasing the prices.
I can recommend a personal excel spreadsheet listing all incomes and costs per month. That makes it very clear how much you have left over for your hobby.
It is as simple as stop buying. If we do, they will push it even furthere.

In the US retailers have slowly but surely increased the prices as part of a month long transition period. Don't assume they'll keep the prices as-is for very long.]]
I now stand corrected, all local shops here have upped their prices. I'm half-expecting them to 'discount' to the original price after a few weeks when they see their sales drop.
Maybe a few years without monumental profits will steer Lego back to sense. Maybe not.
No problem, my budget for this and next years stays the same, in the end I will add one box less per year to my collection and consume my remaining Lego space slower.
Thanks to brickset´ s list of US price increases I was warned and able to buy some affected sets, that I wanted, before this was happening in Europe. Will wait and see, what happens with the other sets, I considered to buy - maybe refuse to, maybe later on discount or maybe used...
Thanks for the warning, guys!

I got this for £40 on Amazon a few weeks ago. No one can tell me Lego are not making enough money if this set can be sold by a third party retailer at less than half the current price, it is not even end of life!
cool set by the way!
I for one will be rethinking how much I spend on this hobby, prices are just getting too high. I am sorry, but with some sets, I just can't see the value there anymore (looking at you UCS AT AT).
I have been waiting to get the Titanic, but the increases in price would cost me most of my VIP points, just to bring it down to the old price, if it is ever available again. Dont think I will get it now. Am I alone in this line of thinking?
Some things are definitely off my wish list now. Anyway, I have such a large backlog that I really shouldn't be buying too much anymore.
Possibly the higher prices, lower sales, will make TLG reflect more on what is worthwhile making into a set rather than flooding the market with too much choice, possibly improving the originality (rather than reruns) and dropping the obscure niche sets.
I got 10255 Assembly Square for a bargain £150 back in around 2019. It now costs £260 from Lego!
I went on the discounts in the UK page today and was like "cool, look at all these sets that have been discounted even further", but then I realised the discount prices hadn't gone down; the full prices had just gone up.
@Huw, 71766 doesn't go up £35 in value though. ;)
Hey kids, I heard Santa’s carrying a ton of Vidiyo sets this year…. Uh come on! What’s not to like?
thats a bloody long list - the lego mansion needs a new roof?
They can stick their bricks! The back to the future set was never in stock for me to buy it in the first place, so I certainly won’t be bothering now.

Nah, but Kjeld’s Ferraris don’t buy themselves.

LEGOLAND Belgium and the US and Vietnam LEGO factories probably still need Roofs as they are planned or being constructed right now.

God, I picked that bnib off eBay for £35 recently ??
So, slightly confused, as bad as things are, inflation isn't 20% yet, so why are some sets increasing 20% or more?

To allow other sets to be increased by a lot less, or nothing at all. Biggest increases aimed at those most likely to be able to afford them. Sales figures will show if they've picked the right sets!
Just revisiting the costs this morning and thanks Huw for enabling us to re-sort the columns to see the biggest percentage and biggest pound rises. Been revisiting it this morning and hardn't clocked the City Gardens change. I had been on the fence around Ninjago City Gardens, I have City and the Docks but I see it's now £299 and I don't think I have £300 of love (or indeed money) for it, prices that already felt quite high have now, ironically, helped making choices of sets clearer.

Good luck with that. If more AFOLs end up leaving the hobby in response to falls in disposable income, and rises in Lego prices, then it will eventually hit demand on the secondary market. I know I’ve considered selling off some of the sets I’ve got in the attic, but I don’t know if it’s already getting a bit too late!

"The list really highlights how many large sets they are making now. Looking on the LEGO website for UK, they currently have 54 products at £200+ and another 97 at £100-£200. Plus a few more at pennies below £100. That's over 150 sets at £100+.
Go back ten years and I remember picking up Helm's Deep for £65 (but RRP £100) thinking £100 is is a lot to pay for a LEGO set, but it was a must have as the flagship LOTR set. Then in 2015 getting Lonely Mountain for £50 (also RRP £100) again thinking that £100 was still a high price for a LEGO set and that such big sets were really only a couple of times a year purchase, especially if you were also into Modulars.
Modulars were typically about £100/£120 then Town Hall hit £150, but they went down below £150 again for the next four. I really thought that LEGO had decided that the Modulars had peaked at £150 and higher prices were not going to be sustainable. Then Assembly Square came along at £180 and aside from the Diner, all the following ones came in at £150-£200. And Assembly Square is still on shelves almost 6 years later but now at £260! Should we be expecting that the next batch of Modulars are going to be in the £225-275 bracket? If so, that is £1K for the next four. A huge change from the £400-£500 you'd pay for four a decade ago.
How times change. Who saw it coming that there would be more than 150 sets on the shelves at over £100? The £100 tag used to be sign of a flagship set now it is nothing special. "
LEGO sets are definitely getting much more expensive today. And the pounds were going much cheaper since ten years ago as well.

I may be wrong, but it seems all the sets that are earmarked for retirement this year has not changed in price.
21332 The Globe £69.99 £59.99 £10
Since when was The Globe £59.99 !??
i dont think we are too far off a lego set costing over 1000
Went to local IKEA a few days ago to find the 40357 (BYGGLEK) priced at 19.99 EUR. Pretty sure it used to be 14.99 EUR, so that price increase could probably be happening elsewhere as well. Still 17.99 EUR in Finland and Germany though.
