Dragon Adventure Ride

©2022 LEGO Group

The limited availability of Bricktober sets has been a point of contention in recent years, as these are invariably creative models with lavish packaging.

Fortunately, 5007428 Dragon Adventure Ride will be available from the VIP Rewards Centre over the weekend, costing 2400 VIP points. Hopefully the other 2022 Bricktober sets will be similarly distributed in the coming weeks or months.

Will you be redeeming this reward? Let us know in the comments.

Yes! Want, want, WANT!
It's so cute. And finally some bricks to use the VIP points for.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

When you zoom in on the photo of the ride it looks like everything is slightly melting (rather than just being out of focus). It almost looks like a painting. Weird effect.

Would like but 43 vip points short

Interpolation gone strange... :-D
Probably a low-res image blown up just a little too much...

By in Sweden,

The base is very similar to 40335: Space Rocket Ride, I wonder if the original fan designer will get a commission?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Very nice indeed, so if it isn't another Ulysses-instant-TLG-website-crash-and-sold-out-fiasco a definite purchase :)
Interesting to see the picture of the Dutch version has a different minifig (girl without helmet and with sword and shield), wonder what kind of packaging we can expect

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

As a Black Falcon completionist, I need to have this. Even if the '80s Black Dragons never encountered a LEGO dragon.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I just bought tickets to the Lego House and Legoland with my points, so I'm ~800 points short :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I plan to try and get this, but expect I will be too late with my order? :)
They will probably sell out fast....

Yes, we only have small images of these Bricktober sets at the moment, but hopefully that will change with their availability in the rewards centre.

I will definitely try to snatch this fun set. Just love it.

It took me a moment to work out what the green bit on the dragon's red (swim flupper) ear was.

As per CapnRex101's subsequent comment, I guess they're using the software that up-resses low quality images Brickset did an article about a few months ago.

I thought it was a GWP, so he won't get anything apart from the grand prize he already won.
My VIP points will be exchanged for the dragon adventure ride.

Got the pirate ship & spaceship as GWP at ToysRUs in Canada back in October. The other 2 never showed up.

Definitely will be using the VIP points to get this. Have to find 40335 from storage now and rebuild to place them side by side.

It’s the same on the American website, too. Hair piece instead of helmet, and holding a sword and Black Falcons shield. She also has medium legs, since she is clearly seated. I wonder why the difference…?

Gravatar

….also, the new image makes it look like she is holding a CHROME gladiator sword?!?

The Bricktober sets come with both helmet and hair, or two different hairpieces, so you can style the minifig how you like.

I'd have enough points for this one, but if they continued to release the other three, I'd be out of luck.

Very cute little sets. Will definitely get all 4 of these. Hopefully they'll be released over a reasonable time. I have plenty of points, but the 'one promo per order can be a bit of a pain at times.... You're waiting for ages then 4 come along!

Have you done all of the 50-point VIP activities, such as the recent online survey? Sometimes we might think that those 50 points are insignificant ... and then you're 43 points short of a reward!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It’s great these are now being made available elsewhere. I’m interested in the pirate ship or rocket versions, but I wonder if they will be offered in the near future.

I can't quite tell if the LEGO logo is a tile or sticker, but otherwise these all seem to use relatively available parts, so Bricklinking the four of them shouldn't be too difficult!

Yet...holding out hope that rumours of the Dragon and Unicorn ride next month come true. Didn't think they would be in November as this overlaps with their Holiday flyer and Black Friday...they need to create incentive post-Black Friday and into the last Holiday push LOL

Yeah, this AI upscaling is really bad for brickphotos. I strongly suggest to not use it for future publications.

By in United States,

FYI - The "VIP Weekend Discount" offers are currently classified as Promo Codes rather than Discount Codes. That means you can't use a $100 off Hogwarts Express or $30 off Camaro (which I was already going to buy this weekend before the offer was added) coupon code AND a Dragon Ride (or other physical item) code in the same order.

I just chatted with customer service and the advice was to redeem the Dragon Ride and then contact customer service again to see about adding the VIP Weekend Discount offer.

The kind and helpful representative said:
"At the end of the day, a code for money off, is still a voucher. I can only assume they made it a "promo code" because this is only a small promotion for the time being, as opposed to the discount vouchers which are forever."

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can you grab this on its own, or do you need to make another purchase? Apologies if this has already been answered, but thank you in advance!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

From 71708 onwards, it seems that TLG really wants us to be able to stock up on iconic equipment for old-school themes, and I am so here for it.

Still, there's no reason to discount this as just a parts-pack. I really like this thing!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This asking lego customer service for points to get the dragon ride is a brilliant tip and it worked for me too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So, by “weekend”, it means “not until the stroke of Saturday”?

@MrClassic:
Sure. It’s a GWP. They can have the usual percentage of “gave them away for free.” On a more serious note, only the first set counts as Ideas. After that, it’s all in-house, like what happened with Minecraft.

@FuddRuckus:
If someone is trying to use more than one of these super-rebates, but doesn’t care about the physical rewards, it looks like everything on offer is over $35 except maybe those “$5 for 100 points” sets for the US, so splitting the order should solve that issue. One set per order, one super-rebate per order.

@Daveismyhero:
Any physical reward obtained by spending VIP points must be attached to an order. This works on backordered items, online PAB purchases, preorders, as long as the system thinks there will be a parcel involved. I think it works even if the contents of your order (but probably not the order itself) are cancelled. There’s also a limit of one physical reward being redeemed per order, which gets a little annoying sometimes.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

That's one gigantic 'ride'. How do you get on it? The distance from the last step to the top where the seat is located is more than the height of the minifig. The thrill of this ride is managing to get on it!

For clarity, the purpose of my post was to say that super-rebates are classified as Promos rather than Discounts, so you can't redeem a super-rebate and the Dragon Adventure Ride or 1958 Retro logo keychain or any other item at the same time. However, customer service said to contact them after placing an order using the physical item's code, and they will retroactively apply the discount--$30 in my case as I will be ordering the Camaro. I anticipate it will be in the form of $30 in VIP points (3900) added to the account rather than a $30 rebate/refund. I will be making the rest of my order total $250 to get all of the GWPs, and I don't want to come up with another $35 order to get the Dragon Adventure Ride.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, so through reading here you can't redeem the Keychain or the Dragon Ride Codes on the same orders that you redeem one of the $ Off Coupons that you had to pay VIP points for?

I thought you could since the FAQ said that only one physical item code could be redeemed per order.

That really stinks if they've locked it up this way.

Customer service is usually VERY lenient when it comes to applying any sort of rules. They're also always pleasant to talk to, but still, it seems like a bit of a hassle. I'll just save my dragon ride for a later order.

If you don't use them within the 60 days you lose them.

Thank,s for the information! After reading this, yesterday night in Europe, at 1:00 I bought the 10305 Lion knights' Castle, so I received the GWP 40564 Winter Elves Scene, 40563 Tribute to LEGO House and, using the VIP points, I got 6427894 Dragon Adventure Ride too!! Great bought!!

and 6000 VIP points more!!

I paid 399,00 EUR, but at least, I got some good sets!!

@dutchbrickdad:
They’re also heading into the busiest time of year, and are going to be dealing with a lot of upset customers, many of whom are going to take out their frustrations on the customer service reps.

@MandaPanda742:
From what I was observing during a previous round of queueing, that doesn’t help. I believe they track each tab as an independent visitor, so you were just taking five spots in line and making it take longer for other people to get in. Collectively, everyone who does this introduces lag to the system that has to even affect how long it takes for the front of the line to get through the door.

"For me it is a no. There are not enough useful parts in there to justify the loss of £15 worth of money off vouchers. And as a set it doesn't do anything for me."

Absolutely this. While i was initially a fan of the idea of getting small exclusive sets via VIP, the maths don't hold out for this once considering the size of the set and the parts involved. Not to mention the fact that it's yet another code I'd have to use on an individual order, and I'm already sat on a queue of three.

I could potentially be tempted by the Pirate one, but ditching £15 of VIP is a bit much. I was already bamboozled into getting some of the coins for ~£7 a pop. I have mixed feelings about VIP recently having been stung twice on the Ulysses probe.

I do look forward to the Lego House GWP even though it's meant getting stuff from my wishlist that I hadn't planned to right now. I feel Lego could maybe do with scaling back a little at the moment given the way things are going for a lot of people.

did that say 172 vip pointds? if so how not fair...."

That's just an automatic estimate based on the official value. You never get vip points from rewards. Just like you don't pay that money to get those prizes.
Next to the vip points value there is an exclamation point. Hovering over it with the pointer reveals: "The VIP Points value shown is an estimate and actual points will be calculated when you check out".
Keep in mind that the pages I've linked to you are not normally reachable by the user. They can only be reached by forcing them by manually entering the codes in the address bar.
