Review: 10313 Wildflower Bouquet
Posted by Huw,10313 Wildflower Bouquet is the second bunch of flowers to be released in the botanical collection, following on from 10280 Flower Bouquet that was released two years ago.
That first set proved to be hugely popular, although I felt that several aspects stopped it from being perfect, such as the roses' colour and sand green foliage, which resulted in it looking a bit dull.
This new one suffers from no such problem: it's bright, vibrant and wonderfully colourful.
Summary
10313 Wildflower Bouquet, 939 pieces.
£54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 | 5.9p/6.4c/6.4c per piece.

The most beautiful LEGO set you'll ever build
- Intensely colourful
- No sub-par blooms
- Perfect for gift-giving
- Too many flowers to fit in my vase!
The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author.
14 flowers of eight different varieties are included in the bouquet, together with three sprigs of foliage to help give it volume. The single instruction manual identifies them and provides notes about where in the world they grow.
Most of the flowers are attached to stems comprising a 32-long green Technic axle, and some have additional axle joiners at the bottom to vary their height, and these can be added or removed as needed to adjust the display.
There are so many flowers that you'll need a big vase to display them all in. I've used a 3D-printed one which isn't quite large enough, so I've split the bouquet into two to allow them to be appreciated better.
I'm no expert flower arranger, but I had fun having a go, trying to balance the heights and colours.
Let's take a look at each stem in turn.
Leatherleaf fern
(The hyperlinks on the titles lead to a Google search about the plant)
This is the first time the classic Pirates-era palm tree element has been made in dark green. Their stems are made with dark green Technic axle joiners and they in alone in using that colour.
Cow parsley
Cow parsley is abundant in Southern England and its white flowers are a magnet for pollen-loving insects. This LEGO version uses 3-pronged plant stems and 30 white flowers to replicate its delicate blossoms.
Their stems are shorter than 32 studs, so green Technic axle connectors have been used instead of a single axle.
Welsh poppy
A central cool yellow wheel hub is surrounded by four of the new shoulder plate piece introduced last year in the Marvel Super Heroes mechs.
Cornflower
The flower heads of the blue and white cornflowers are made using six 39262 crowns, held in place on a 1941 handle with six 41005 sticks. They are finished off with a purple 5-pronged flower stem for the stigma, and they look excellent.
The method used to mount the lower one and the leaves underneath at an angle is a bit fragile, though, and they have a tendency to come off when arranging them in the vase.
Lavender
This is the only plant in the set that was also in 10280 Flower Bouquet, although it's been built very differently and looks far more like the lavender grown in gardens here in the UK.
The medium lavender leaves are affixed to a core formed using three 4733 1x1 bricks with 5 studs spaced by gold 1x1 rounds, then topped with lavender flower heads to give it a very realistic appearance and colour.
Lupin
The two lupins attracted the most attention when the set was revealed on account of the use of pirate hats, which are the perfect piece to replicate the pod-like flower heads.
The internal structure is cleverly constructed with alternate layers of 68888 shaft elements and four 4599 taps affixed to 2x2 round plates to space alternate layers by 45 degrees.
If you want to spruce up your maritime marauder minifigs with colourful headgear you'll find 32 medium lilac and 16 bright reddish violet bicornes in the set.
Larkspur
This beautiful blue bloom stands tall and proud in the vase, making use of bright green 32072 angular wheels and sausages to affix the three sizes of flower head to the stem.
Gerbera daisy
The technique of using oars as petals attached to a 5-wide steering wheel with clips was first used in 40524 Sunflowers, and it looks no less spectacular here. The green barrel underneath the heads gives the heads depth and also prevents the clips from being pushed downwards too much.
The dark brown centre of the head is a hat, commonly found in Ninjago sets.
Verdict
This has to be the most beautiful LEGO set I've ever built. The flowers look absolutely stunning when displayed in a suitable vase or two.
There is nice parts usage (NPU) abound, in particular the pirate hats and 39262 crown, which seems to be particularly well suited to replicating a variety of botanical features.
Its brighter green stalks and radiant colours of the flowers are a vast improvement on 10280 Flower Bouquet, which looks quite dull in comparison. I felt that a couple of the flowers in that earlier set were a bit disappointing, but that's not the case here: they are all exquisite, and showcase just what's possible with standard LEGO pieces and a lot of ingenuity.
The 939-piece will cost $59.99, £54.99, €59.99 when released on 1st February, the same as 10280 Flower Bouquet which has 180 fewer pieces, although it was slightly cheaper when first released.
I predict it will sell like hotcakes, so my advice is to pre-order it at LEGO.com now to avoid disappointment and a lengthy wait for stock to be replenished.
The vases were printed using purple and blue eSun Silk PLA on an Ender 3 S1 Pro in spiral mode. The larger one took four hours to print, the smaller one two. The STL file can be found at Thingiverse.

Time to start picking some flowers.
I want that vase to go with it. But it looks expensive. :-(
OMG I am going to have some FABULOUS pirates in the future!
Ah, so the vase doesn't come with the set. These look great but I am working to save some space on my home as well that I have some other things to buy first.
I made an excellent and inexpensive Lego vase for the first bouquet using transparent 1x1 round bricks and 2x1 bricks and should have enough leftovers for a second when I get the new one!

The vases used about $1-worth of 3D printer filament each, so not too pricey!
The vases really do go so well with the flowers. Could you sell them on Etsy, Huw...?!
I was fortunate enough to find the set early and build it. I agree, it is an absolutely stunning set! It doesn't feel quite as repetitive either. I may have to get a second one, because I'm already debating taking it apart for all of the amazing parts!
The flowers look great as always, but the more I see of your vases the more I want my own 3D printer!
It is beautiful but I have the first buquet and collect a lot of dust, and cleaning every flower is tedious because they are easily disassembled. Anyway, a very very showcase set, of course.
Great review! Set looks amazing. Great parts.
I agree that the original looks a bit duller. To me, it seems more like true wildflowers in that respect than the new one. I like them both.
Absolutely gorgeous. Even more gorgeous assuming it drops to the £40 that the original has on Amazon!
It looks amazing
Just wanting to let you know that, as a non native english speaker, since you started doing the Summary at the start of each review it's easier for me to know your thoughts about the sets, since reading an entire review sometimes it's a bit exhausting to me. I even started reading the full reviews after reading the summary, because it's easier for me to follow the entire article knowing some of those key thoughts. So thank you, I really appreciate the effort!
@ubik_bricks, thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you're enjoying our reviews.
There’s money to be made selling those vases.
The pirate hat construction I think is clever in its simplicity.
Some adults won't buy these LEGO flowers because of the stigma -- pun entirely intended :~P
@Huw What is 'roughly' your built time?
I will assume that you are an 'experienced' builder and will adjust your answer to what it means for someone else. Thanks.
@Hobbes , how long did it take to build? I never keep track, and I did it several sessions but I guess about an hour or so.
Its one of the few sets my wife actually encourages me to buy... so buy I will. Thank you Lego.
It's quite interesting we see a palm tree leaf recolor here, hopefully that means the large palm leaf can someday come back as well, it has not been made for 21 years ( 10037: Breezeway Café ) remake from 2002.

Perfect for an 'Our Flag Means Death' MOC ;)
Only two Lupins? I guess the Third remains elusive...

Unless, of course, you don't have a 3D printer. (Or, as I call them, Replicator 1.0.) Then, the price goes way up.

Now I feel dumb because I thought it was part of the set. I was trying to figure out what LEGO elements it was made of, or whether it was some kind of new paper/cardboard element exclusive to these sets.
Fantastic set. Love it. Keep them coming!
As always, an excellent review, but also really interested in the 3d printed vases as I bought an Ender 3 v2 Neo just after Christmas.
I didn’t even notice the bright green hot dog pieces in the official images! The set just keeps getting better.
I picked up this set today at a local Walmart. This time around the box clearly states “Vase not included” right on the front of the box next to the photo. I don’t recall the other boxes having that statement…
We need more of these sets! My 5yo boy loves the Botanical sets. …These got me back into Lego, and their reasonable prices make them an easy purchase for a weekend project. - More, Please! ASAP
i love this set, such an array of colours. I do wish it had a vase included, my current one is getting full.
"Now, give me all the lupins you've got!... In a bunch! In a bunch!"
> Cow parsley is abundant in Southern England
We have plenty cow parsley in Northern England, too. There's space for it despite the number of cloth caps and whippets.
Again, stuff the flowers, I need that vase.

It strikes me that LEGO flowers would be ideal for Gumby Floral Arrangements...
I would never buy these for display. Way too many good pieces in them!
So many interesting new part colors in these two sets. Probably cheaper to just purchase at least two copies of each rather than ordering random parts off PAB. The color choices in both are way better than the original set. The roses in that one were just an ugly color for a flower.
Another great vase, @Huw !!
Had this and 10314 on pre-order on the day they appeared on the LEGO Shop. Both look fantastic. I've already bought a suitable vase for this set, the same recycled glass one from Tesco that i use for 10280!
Did Walmart jump the gun or did they arrange to release these before everyone else? Like a couple others, I found this one in our local Walmart today as well. I had to do a double take as I knew it wasn't supposed to come out until February.
So much nicer than the first flower set.
"I really love the flowers you got over there..." a girlfriend once said to me. That was 2 years ago and they were the "10280 Bouquet". Now I definately need this new set. They look fantastic.
