I was hoping the Spring VIP pack 40606 would be a lower threshold offer after the delivery van GWP finished. Ah well.

Hopefully before the end of the month! I also wouldn't be shocked if it's in April instead. Really looking forward to it!

Nope ;P
As the the two above me in the commentary I hope the Spring VIP pack show up soon so I can order the few Castle parts I am missing from PAB :)
These gifts with purchase don’t interest me.
The Gollum brick head is hilarious. Wish I had the cash for Rivendell
I'm picking up Rivendell, because I love Lord of the Rings more than most of my relatives.
Can anyone tell me when on the 5th it will be available to buy? Is it 12 midnight by region (I'm EST in the US), or a set time globally?

40606 is one cool free-BEE.

Take a guess.

New set launches are normally at midnight local time, with no set global time, and I don't see that changing for this one. So yes, midnight EST!
No. I do not plan on going for any of these.
Planning on Rivendell. But might hold off until a better GWP (of the likes of the Forest mens hideout or Blacktron Cruiser)
I do not have any interest in these GWPs. If they were releasing a better one with Rivendell I would be all over it. I got the Moving Truck. Spend threshold for the house is ridiculous.
I was hoping for a more interesting GWP for AfoL shopping day next week.
£220 to qualify for a Gift With Purchase is getting ridiculous, sorry Lego but you're going too far now.
Houses of the World is probably quite a good addition to Rivendell for those who wanted that GWP, but had nothing to get first time around. Certainly some non-exclusive £13.49 Brickheadz aren't much of a sweetener for a £429.99 set on their own!
Personally, as others, I was also hoping for a 40606 or two to add to a few smaller purchases.
In the meantime 910004 is in the Warehouse so the lack of desired GWPs don't bother me for the moment!
Not sure why we need to know that people aren't interested in the GWP, as it's already making a return after not selling out!
They're persisting with the same price threshold, but that was clearly too much last time around. I reckon this will show up as a mystery gift in the future.
I wonder what they will do with the other three in the series?
250€ to get that house? Are they mad?
I have no interest in the notebook or 40630 (and wasn't planning to get 10316 anyway, and the only LotR Brickheadz I' want is 40631), and I think I may have made my last Super Mario purchase with 71404, although if they do a Daisy starter pack, I'd be tempted. I do want 40583, but May the 4Fourth isn't too far away, and I'm saving my big-Lego-purchase money for if that has a cool enough promo.
I was hoping I could get the spring vip parts pack with Rivendell as well as the Frodo and gollum brickheadz..( also the Frodo brickhead is awful, I'll need to fix his hair when I get him)
So if I would get Rivendell at the local Lego Store I get both Houses of the World AND the Frodo and Gollum Brickheadz? Or is it online only?

The website says the promotions are both in-store as well.
They didn't learn last time that 40583 is well above acceptable for a GWP spend amount?
It's $400 in Australia so I suspect that the only people who will get it are buying Rivendell or another equally high item that they were buying anyway.
The whole point in my opinion of a GWP spend amount is to entice you to buy more than you going to (EG: spend $200 for x and you have $150 in your cart you're likely to spend that extra $50)
If I had $300 in my cart I wouldn't see myself spending an extra $100 for this.
They’ve had it the last two years - is there any special set for Women’s Month coming out this month?
These GWP are not nearly enticing enough for such a high spend threshold. It's a cute house ....but nope!
Sorry LEGO, but no. I know that you got really excited about getting AFOL money, but take it down a notch…

Great, thank you! I've never been this excited to spend $500!
Well that's the least interesting lineup of promotions for many months. I feel the notebook is more suited to the Rewards page in the For Kids section. I'm not surprised the Houses of the World set has the same threshold as to reduce it would be unfair on those who received it in January. LEGO probably know they made a mistake with that threshold but they need to be consistent. Hopefully it will reduce for the other three in the series.
Worst is the frankly insulting gift for those who buy Rivendell straight away. To give an existing set is bad enough but they chose the cheapest and least appealing. Perhaps let buyers choose which one they would like, although most Lord of the Rings fans will probably own them already anyway. It would perhaps have been better not to give a specific gift as most sets, even expensive ones, don't have that. This just draws attention to how contemptuous LEGO are towards the fanbase. As always, just buy it when there is a particularly interesting GWP.

Careful there, you're going to get Lego's Ferrari purchasing department TOO excited with that kind of enthusiasm.

Don't worry, unless that rumored Baradur set is just as awesome, I never buy sets Day 1. But LotR and the set's details got me this time.
I will be queuing for Rivendell tomorrow If I get the brickheadz and the house as a gwp it is a lovely bonus, securing Rivendell is more important to me as like the Titanic I am reasonably confident it won’t be in stock for long for at least for this year, and probably well into next year, I value these extras Lego throw our way they are under no obligation to do so and if nothing else it offsets the car parking. One observation though as it is a microscale set that Chihuahua would be about the same size as a Great Dane, I like it.
Obviously buying Rivendell on day one and glad to get this liitle bonus house ;-)

It was available here in NZ on the 5th...
Swing and a miss, Lego. I refuse to be nerd-baited into dropping over £400 on Rivendell in any case - an admittedly cute house isn't going to change my mind on that
No.

New sets typically go live at midnight, based on where the country is located. Since the entire US uses the same website for online purchases, the entire US gets access to new sets at midnight in the Eastern time zone. Unfortunately, old offers also tend to expire by Eastern time, so there's no five-hour overlap between promos.
Honestly, yes. I'm not worried about the GWPs, but double VIP points ... 71395 has been on my 'to get' list for a while, so I think it might as well get pulled while I can add to the points pile with it.
So I could buy an entire modular and still not qualify for the "Houses of the World" GWP? Wow. Just wow.
Like some of the others, I am more excited about the Spring VIP pack anyway. I hope you don't have to show proof of a second residence to qualify for that one /s
300 CHF is much to expensive for this set.
I hope once LEGO will reconsider the prices for Switzerland.
This is one year that the Euro is at parity with the Swiss franc.

Great choice, it's a very underrated set! I hope you enjoy it.
