Another Iron Man (yeah, not much caring about minor suit variations)
No idea who Rita is but looks a useful minifig

Obviously a true Harry Potter fan.

By in Brazil,

Only the HP minifig looks interesting since is someone I never saw before. On other hand, we get like 35 Iron Man figures every year and 15 Lloyds.

I can't remember if that Lloyd outfit is in the LEGO Ninjago show already, or if it's part of the new show that isn't out yet

It's not been seen before in the show. I've seen every released episode, and it must be from the new as-yet unaired revamp.

By in United Kingdom,

I've picked up a few of these types of books over the years (mostly for the minifig), and sometimes the content was very informative and fun. These more recent ones are no more than glorified adverts... still, Rita Skeeter might tempt me for this HP one.

By in United States,

I'll take the Harry Potter book and leave the others.

By in United Kingdom,

Contrary to everyone else, I'm looking forward to getting a new Iron Man to put in the hall of armour. I agree lots of the suits look borderline identical but this one does look cool to me.

I really hate Rita Skeeter as a person, but as a minifigure, I'd totally buy the book for that.

Paparazzi allways ready to slander someone.

@CapnRex101, Is there a way of searching the database for minifigures that are book exclusives? Could make an interesting article especially if those minifigures are rare or valuable.

Only great minifig is the Rita one.

ABS plastic melts around 280 degrees celcius, in case you desire catharsis.

The Marvel one looks interesting but the minifig is a bit boring. It has reminded me that I would really love a new Ms. Marvel minifig, especially as I missed out on the one with the long arms, and I'm not really willing to pay 4+ prices for the short-legged one.

Iron Man looks great. Will definitely be picking up the book for that figure.

I saw a leaked page a few days ago and they marked the Tazer armor from 76166 as the Mark 30 making it seem like its from the MCU. With the exception of the color blue those armors do not look a like at all and is a bit misleading in my eyes. To be fair they have done this with the Marks 2, 22, 37, and 39; passing them off as comic sets, but at least those looked similar to their MCU representations.

Looks like another armour to add to my collection.
(sigh) They can take my money now.

HP one.
Nice to have a proper exclusive figure and not some variation of an existing one.

If that's right, the book cover has a very standard looking Wu Cru... not the new group I'd seen hints of.

I'll also echo the opinion that the HP book has the most interesting character i.e. not Lloyd (again) or Iron Man (again). I love those two characters, but there's a wealth of others to choose from in both of those universes.

I definitely get why it's not for everyone, but I always look forward to picking up another Iron Man suit. Reminds me a little of the Homecoming suit but with black instead of silver.

By in Australia,

Wait, wait, wait...

So let me get this straight: Lloyd is the new Samurai X?

By in Norway,

Finally a Rita Skeeter! At this point, that was one of the only things still missing from "Harry Potter". And it's not a completely useless book like the one they put Percy Weasley in either.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thought this was going to be a round-up of more than just the three. How about something more comprehensive?

Oh come on, I didn't know about that one existing, now I need to buy it as well! Glad I didn't fall for the Tom Riddle one though and just waited for 76389.

By in United States,

I mean, I suppose it’s nice to see another Ninja get a samurai variant. Unfortunately, now it could feel like the original four Ninja need them too. And then of course Nya falls further behind on the variants count.

Might have been better to do a nonphysical variant of a figure from the show/merch. We’re still missing Future Kai and Zane, Golden Techno Cole and Jay, DIGI ZANE…

I fell for that. If you want to assemble a Hufflepuff quiddtch team, you will also need multiples of HP275: Cedric Diggory - Yellow Quidditch Uniform.

I like the new IM and Rita is incredible... if they would have included printed legs.

I believe the most valuable fig from market-released books is the white Boba Fett. SW0631: Boba Fett - White, Detailed Pattern

Similarly, Lego gave out books to "favorite customers" with the old Boba in white. That's the most valuable that I know of. BOBAFETT1: White Boba Fett minifig and Star Wars book

By in Germany,

Didn't realize we never got a Rita Skeeter minifig before. That's definitely an interesting one.

My favorite book-exclusive minifig remains the orange Classic Space astronaut though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Im surprised theres no mention of the brand new destiny bounty set that was revealed from the book, that is a summer set that hasn't been seen yet.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nice.

There’s an offer available where you get two books for free if you buy a couple and sell their minifigs on eBay ;-)

It might make an interesting brickset survey to know how many people buy these things for the book - and are therefore pleased to be rewarded with an exclusive fig, versus how many people are buying for the fig, alone - and are leaving the book either to gather dust or to be recycled, one way or another.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I buy these for the figures. I don't even look at the books. So it looks like I'll have a new Marvel and HP book to add to my collection. If it was cheaper to get just the figure, I'd do it that way, but usually it is cheaper to just buy the book instead of aftermarket loose figure. *shrug*

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just went to Amazon to preorder the Marvel version and it has Mysterio in the corner instead of the figure...odd

I never saw a way to look that up so I did create this Bricklist to keep track of items like books and videos, I think it is pretty up to date. Brick list - Items including a minifig

FINALLY a Marvel book! I’ll be picking this up to go with all the DC books that have been published.
