In the words of The Emperor.
"You do not meet a girl like that every dynasty."
"The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all…"

"One of the few Disney Princesses with a confirmed bodycount, and an impressive one at that."
I remembered next to nothing from the movie despite watching it quite frequently as a kid. That's probably what drew me to it. It actually had action and war, the other princess movies didn't have that. Rewatching it not too long ago, I was blown away by the amount of decimation.

I had to look up a synopsis because it's been so long since I watched this film (and even longer for the live-action one). Mushu killed Shan Yu. His sword was recovered, so we can assume they found what's left of him. Mulan caused an avalanche. Did someone actually dig out all the corpses to get an accurate headcount, and make sure they didn't all dig themselves out and slink back home?
I always cry at the end of Mulan when she is reunited with her Dad, regardless of how many times I have watched it. "The greatest gift and honour is having you for a daughter." Oh man, here I go again.
Mulan is the best.
Ah, I remember that set!
When will my minidoll show…who I am…insiiiiiiiiiide!

Pretty sure any survivors would have emerged alongside Shan Yu and his Not-So-Magnificent Seven (or was it Eight?).
Not my favourite minidoll design of Mulan - that would be https://brickset.com/minifigs/dp079 because I really like her outfit there - but still a pretty solid version of her nonetheless!
Agreed with others that Mulan is amongst my favourite, if not my top favourite, of Disney's "princess" movies... despite the fact that Mulan herself, as pretty great as she is, is in no way a princess, making her the odd one out of that franchise.
I sometimes think that maybe Disney ought to rename it the Heroines franchise rather than the Princesses one; not only would that be a more accurate fit for Mulan, it would also allow some of their other cool animated ladies to be part of it too, which the focus on being specifically princesses (mostly) stops them from doing at present.
@ThatBionicleGuy:
Well, that version also has a less culturally problematic face. Anyways, evidence seems to suggest little girls are more interested in being the princess than a heroine. Esmeralda got the boot, but characters like Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella are still on the list. Of course, give them a character who’s both, like Elsa, and that wins every time.
Fun fact: The musical numbers stop after they reach the obliterated village. Mulan is one of the few Disney films with such a radical shift in tone.
