LEGO has revealed another upcoming Star Wars set: the much-anticipated 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship!

This set will be released on the 1st of September and contains 1083 pieces, which is actually fewer than the last minifigure-scale Republic Gunship, released ten years ago.

View more information and images below...

75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship

  • 1083 pieces
  • £129.99, $139.99, €149.99
  • Chancellor Palpatine, Padmé Amidala, Commander Fox, Coruscant Guards (2)

Additional images are available on the set details page.

Since the rumours emerged a few months ago, I have been fascinated to see how people would respond to this version of the Republic Gunship, which only appears very briefly during a couple of Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes.

With that in mind, what do you think of this Republic Gunship? Let us know in the comments.

That's...rough looking. Figures are great, ship not so much

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is one of the most conflicting sets I have seen. Pretty good Minifigure selection (although another shock trooper or a pilot couldn't have hurt, given how similar it is to last year's AT-TE) and I really love the ship design except the lack of turrets on the wings, but either way I was going to get it, so if I am unhappy I will try to modify it

By in United Kingdom,

Trying to figure out what the function that's being displayed in that penultimate image is, but I'm at a loss. You, what, pull a lever thing at the top and then what happens?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The figures are awesome, but I think it will be hard to top 75021-1

It's just a handle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meh. The TCW version of the gunship is my least favorite version. At least they didn't try and slap the Clone Wars 20th Anniversary logo on this set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Would have wished for a larger structure for the price. Figures are very nice, hopefully the white on Fox isn't a pink hue.

Thought this was the Christmas star wars set

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

is it a lot more compact than the last version? With the midi sets rumoured for next year, this would be on the same wavelength. I'm on board.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

0.129 cnt € per brick... It's expensive.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Me personally I love having more color,so I'm good with this shade of red.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm conflicted. The gunship looks pretty good, and I like the closing doors, however, I would have preferred a regular or Plo version. I don't have a gunship so I would have preferred one that could be a definitive version. That being said, a lot of people already have the classic color scheme so this will be a nice change.
The minifigure selection is good, but they needed to throw at least another shock trooper in. 5 figures seems too small for a troop transport probably because it requires two "pilots". Palpatine and Padme look good. The shock troopers feel like they need red arms, and of course I would have liked dual molded legs for them, but I would probably get used to their white arms like I did with the 501st. Fox really needed dual molding though. He looks really bad from behind because of the white legs. The Kama looks atrocious as always, and he is supposed to have a black visor.

By in United States,

The Clone Wars' Collection is reborn once again!

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I like Palpatine's minifigure.
That's it.
The rest of the minifigures are absolutely irrelevant to me and the ship...meh. Don't like the colour scheme and I didn't really like The Clone Wars, so I have no attachment to this whatsoever.

Definitely a skip for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That's very red. I appreciate that the doors can fully close, but I'll stick with my 2014 AOTC Gunship.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely going to get this set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If I had the 75021 from ten years ago, I would see no reason to get this. The only thing it does better than 75021 is to be available this year at retail. Every single thing about it is a downgrade from the last version, except the color scheme and the minifigs if you like them.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

For one I think it looks great, price, not so much.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm amongst the group that absolutely adores the Gunship, but I'm wondering how they butchered the wing turrets so bad.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

I love the colour-scheme and the minifigure selection. The scale to minifigure doesn't seem to be that much off from the canonical thing either, but the pricing is once again horrendous, likely in the hopes of people buying this just for the figures.

The only issue that I have with the set itself is in the inclusion of stud shooters, but then again this is mostly aimed for kids and Lego rarely designs anything that doesn't require some modifications to my taste, and modifying sets is part of the beauty in this hobby.

Looks to be 8/10 set with 4/10 value for the asking price.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I mean it’s very red but I never really see much difference between these gunships so it’s hard for me to feel strongly either way

Gravatar
By in United States,

W H A T?

Is this August 1st or is it April 1st?
Because this thing is a joke.

The *idea* is good. The *execution* is not.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not a fan of that Palpatine with the skirt, but other than that the figs are decent. Hopefully they fixed the Fox issue printing white over the red to make pink. The build though...nothing looks appealing about it other than if you love red.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Absolutely love it! Can’t wait to pick it up on release!

You can probably carry it like this, much like the T-shaped handle on the AT-TE.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If Shev Palpatine doesn't come with "A power... UNLIMITED POWER!" second side of his head, I will be greatly disappointed.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

This is like someone looked at the Republic Bricks Gunships and wanted to simplify the design even more. Just look at those sides! I do not care how the doors are parted, it looks unfinished with that many holes in closed configuration. That plate with the republic emblem juts out of the construction far too hard. This is a bad Rebrickable MOC.

Not even worth getting for figures, I bet the Shocktroopers will be reused in the spring set with Kelleran Beq and Grogu. Fox has too much white on his chest, yet another mistake that could be fixed by a simple running change but Lego doesn't do things like this for years now. Padmé is alright but exactly the kind of outfit nobody cares for. Sheev is perfect but then we are back to paying 150 bucks for a figure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

just for frame of reference set 7163 would cost ~$150 usd adjusted for inflation, for 686 pieces and 4 extra minifigures (though they are just super battle droids, a droideka, and a extra plain clone)

Gravatar

A certain Floridian lego youtuber will have fun with this one

That's a swoop helper. Last one has a similar handle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just wish it was a plain one, or even better befitting the Clone Wars Multimedia Project anniversary, a Muunilist 10 gunship. Waiting a decade to finally scratch a set off my Lego Star Wars bucket list and it's a somewhat obscure version of the craft with Phase II clones. Granted, getting updated versions of any clone type is nice, but the iconography of the Clone Wars anniversary is the Phase I helmet...

Gravatar
By in United States,

It’s a shame about the wing turrets

Gravatar
By in United States,

The set looks pretty good, but I'm still kinda baffled as to why they made it in the first place.

The red colored Republic Gunship only has about 30 seconds of screen time the entire show, but the figure selection would fit perfectly with the Coruscant Police Gunship (which is a different vehicle entirely and features more often).

I was really hoping they would do a Republic Gunship with a "standard" color scheme (I missed out on 75021 back in 2013). Guess I'll have to MOD it - that should be a fun little project!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I WANT TO LIKE THIS SET. But I just don't really like it as much as I would have hoped. Figures are great, and I was never able to get a gunship, so this will be a sale pick up for me!

Gravatar
By in Japan,

I really want to like it, but I can’t. I missed out on the 2013 Gunship, and the Coruscant Guard is my favorite Clone battalion, but I still can’t like this set.

All they needed to do was take the 2013 set like they did with the recent AT-TE, and change the color scheme and remove the ball turrets. Instead, they wasted time and money designing a newer, uglier, less substantial version of the same vehicle; it’s completely bizzare.

It’s an $140 set with five minifigures, or nearly thirty whole dollars per figure, and they still won’t give Fox dual-molded legs or a cloth kama; he’s also inaccurately printed, as his knees and part of the white chestplate (right under the breast) are also supposed to be red, and he’s supposed to have a black visor. I should not have to go on Bricklink or dig through my collection to add a kama and proper visor on a new figure in a $140 set.

You want to know the saddest part? I’m still going to get it, probably. Hopefully it will be >$120 at some point.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

how can a Lego designer look themselves in the mirror when rando Harry Potter figures get cool new faceprints every year yet Padmé, a prequel main character(!) gets slapped with a face that was created for another figure in the same theme. Not only that, Padmé got a unique faceprint TEN YEARS AGO!

"It's evolving, just… backwards"

Gravatar
By in Italy,

sorry but the pilots??

ugly wings with those cannons

Gravatar
By in United States,

To Gunship: “You’ve got red on you.”

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like a 4+ set

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I for one like it. I'm happy it's from the Clone Wars (although barely) and not from the prequels. I have 7676 from 2008. I modded it and I absolutely love it now! It's one of my favourite sets.

This one is not perfect but it's really not as bad as many people say. LEGO sets and minifigs are representations, not recreations. I'm ok with it.

I'll pick it up at some point. I'm actually glad it's rather small as I don't have a lot of space left in my LEGO room.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it. I'm a big fan of the Gunship. This is a little smaller than 75021. It's hard to tell because of the angles, but it seems about four studs shorter in length, two to three bricks shorter in height, and the fuselage is four studs wide at the top and rear, instead of six. That's fine with me: display space is a problem, and this ship is hard to fit on a shelf.
Gripes:
The wingtip stud shooters should be on turntables!
The way the angle of the top of the fuselage changes behind the cockpits just looks very, very wrong.
It really needs at least another clone trooper, or clone pilots. 75337 AT-TE got it right- five clones, three battle droids, and the dwarf spider droid (not a minifig, but a "character".)

Gravatar
By in United States,

As a Star Wars fan but not a Clone Wars mega-fan this looks pretty cool to me. I’m glad they are doing more Clone Wars sets and maybe in the next year or two we’ll get the standard livery.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

On its own it looks quite decent, and I do like the color scheme. But then looking at that one from 10 years ago...it not only looked (and was) bigger, but also better. Usually when you compare a new set with a similar old one, all of the new pieces make it look more detailed. Not so much here, this looks pretty rough. And do I even need to say anything about the price?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Download instructions, make a white one and don't buy this

Gravatar
By in United States,

Primarily dark red? The color variation is probably going to be all over the place.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

that dark red is kinda nice, but im not gonna lie, i would rather see different colours and rex with cody or something, but almost 14c/pc? hmmm

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like the Coruscant Guard, and actually appreciate the red color scheme, but this set really needs one more clone. A troop transport should have enough to actually drive it and also carry soldiers - needing to put Commander Fox into the cockpit is a disgrace. Palpatine and Padme are appreciated, but I would rather not have to raid my 75046 just to get the minimum clones to fulfill the vehicle's intended purpose.

Also would second a desire for a Muunilist 10 Gunship - it would've been the perfect time for one with the UCS on the market, it has a dedicated fanbase, and you could easily fill out the figures better. Say Fordo, Two Blue, the pilot, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Grievous. The blue and shark design is much more striking that the red imo.

Gravatar
By in France,

I thought they would have improved the exterior look of it, with the parts, tiles and all the wedges now available (for smoother surfaces and angles maybe?) . When I first saw the pics I thought I would just jump on it day 1, but looking at it closer... I wonder. It looks like a smaller version of the one I already have, with no side / wing turrets, but for the color scheme and figs - that give its interest to me... Along with the full closing side doors. I'll wait for a good review of it to decide. Capt'n, it's your play, as soon as you can /want ??

Lol it's a handle. You grab it and then pick up the model. Every LAAT and AT- walker model has had one. Not sure why such a universal feature deserved its own focus image.

The first two Gunships did not have a carrying handle.

They're simply pointing out how you carry it. Because it's not obvious- the doors and missile launchers make it hard to pick up.

I'm glad that I own 75021, one of my favourite SW Lego sets ever.

Gravatar
By in United States,

2013 Republic Gunship = 10.2 cents per part.

Adjusted for inflation, that's 13.3 cents today.

This set: 1083 parts, $140 = 12.9 cents per part. So slightly lower price per part on this new set.

2013 set came with two extra minifies but they were both droids. So the older set was a better value if you consider those droids to be real/full minifigures . If not, both sets are essentially the same value.

Wait... does this mean that we don't get the Rex minifig this year?!? Was this supposed to be the set but they didn't add him in?!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

At first I thought this said "Coast Guard Gunship" and Lego were suddenly introducing military sets to the City theme. And acknowledged that Coast Guard is military all along.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Since I never owned a previous l.a.a.t. gunship, a non-regular colour like this one gets my attention .
I like a “special” version , like a kessel run falcon instead of a regular one, a first order tie fighter instead of a regular one, a Vonreg tie interceptor instead of a regular one, a Poe’s X-wing instead of a regular one…….

Clones are a bonus!

This ship sucks. Its chibi size is barely larger than 75026. Figs will be ok if Lego decides to put on the full 3 coats required by great-gramps Kristiansen.

Feel sorry for you guys that weren't around for the after-X-mas clearance of the last gunship. 75021. I remember the Lego store manager almost begging me to buy another one "but, they're only $75!"

It activates a giant fan mechanism that gently but surely rises the chibi-gunship and allows it to levitate an inch or so from the giant, sophisticated landing platform/fan mechanism (not shown so that AFOLs will have something to complain about (other than pink-chest Fox) given the insane greed-flated price of this crappy, widdle set).

Gravatar

Looks like it should be a Target exclusive.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I spy a new 2x2 inverted round tile on the bottom of the wing turrets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Like many people have already expressed, I am conflicted about this set. I want it absolutely for the minifigures, but the Gunship is quite a let down. Nothing at all compared to the 2013 version, which I don’t have. I hope to get one, but it is disappointing. Love the Chancellor Minifig though and the clones do look good even with the holes.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Man, the last SW set that didn’t disappoint me was the Ghost. They really lost the plot on this theme. I don’t need dioramas, helmets or glorified battle-packs. Much less obscure ships with two seconds of screen-time. Where are the vehicles that stand the test of time but are NOT a $600 UCS version..? As a once hardcore Lego SW collector I see myself gravitating more and more to original themes like Monkie Kid or Dreamzzz.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I feel like a lot of controversy about this set could have been avoided if they just went with the main colour scheme... as it is now it's just an incredibly neish version of a popular ship that, quite franky, I don't think I have the space or the money to justify spending it on, but if it was the original, it would probably be an instant buy. I genuinely don't get lego's obsession with avoiding Attack of the Clones like a plague.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks okay, but’s just too small and missing key features, even though the mini figures are fantastic, in my opinion for the AT-TE’s price, it’s not worth it. Better to sit this one out and wait for a true laat/i gunship to roll out again, at least for me.

Gravatar

Gravatar

I don’t care about anything that has been griped about in past comments, this is something so niche and cool that we would have no reason to get, and even getting it as a set has me look past it’s flaws. (P2 Fox is also a contender for fig of the year in my mind)

Yeah, those were the days when you really wanted to go to the after-Christmas event. Lego would clear out lots of sets to prepare for the Jan waves. Haven't seen the same deals in the last couple years.

That was one of the best deals. But, I also remember 21310 for $100 just prior to retirement. Kick myself for not grabbing that one. Some of the big Fairground sets had large discounts too. I did buy 75244 for $130 and 75243 for $75. Star Wars UCS sets also often get the good final clearance in Lego brand stores just before retirement.

Also, my local Lego store is a regional clearinghouse for mildly damaged boxes. They started giving 20-25% for some of those sets, too (usually in VIP points).

This puts me in the "I like this new one but I have a LAAT/I already, so will have to save the money" camp too.

Having said that... I do like the lack of side turrets on this flyer (as well as 7676), and modding the wings to be just flat & gunless would make it look FAST, and I like the double-plate thickness on the wing leading edges, and I do like picking up Star Wars sets cheap without minifigs on eBay, and I definitely prefer this 'small'-scale to the nonsense-scale of the UCS, and red-wunz-go-fasta, and, and...

Looks like I've sold it to myself!

I think I preferred the Wampa variant!

If 7676 has just included side turrets, it would have been perfect. After looking at the instructions for 75021, they may not be too difficult to mod.

Oh yeah, there were sticker OPTIONS! Such a wonderful feature. The wampa is pretty neat.
Have the wampa stickers held up any better than the lizard-monkey stickers...? Ha ha!

I could never decide so both remain on the sticker sheet! I bought a 2nd 7676 back during the BOGO50 awesomeness of TRU so I guess I could do one of each. :o)

I love it but I'm gonna lack some room so I might offer it to my kid ! ;-)
The minifigs are awesome, especially Captain Fox.

@yellowcastle the 75021 doors don't fully close- there's the big opening for the bubble turrets.
It looks like this new gunship finally got the angles of the rear ramp and the lower edge of the doors to match, or nearly so.

The difference between doors closing and not revolves around whether the set was designed for AOTC (doors can't close which is why Padme gets tossed out) and TCW (doors can close so gunships can launch from Venators in space).

I was initially blind to this difference when I picked up a used 7163. My kid was sad that the doors didn't close and the back didn't open like the later TCW sets. So, I MODded it into a TCW version.

It's too bad they didn't keep that tradition going with the cool nose artwork.

I also like the one for 10195 that shows a clone trooper arm clutching the disembodied battledroid head.

If you're going to make an obscure ship, at least make it cheap. I hope this thing's poor sales don't send LEGO the wrong message (that people don't want Clone Wars sets).

If they drew that conclusion from this set selling poorly, they would be idiots. All of the other clone sets have flown off the shelves. I suspect this one will for a bit as well. Although I doubt it will maintain that selling power for too long.

Its a "play lever" the 2013 has the same thing, it helps you hold it while swooshing it around.
