Random minifig of the day: son007
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random minifigure is son007 Cubot, a Sonic the Hedgehog figure that came in one set, 76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman's Death Egg Robot, released during 2023.
Our members collectively own a total of 193 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $2.50.

I love the way Lego keeps finding different ways to use that roller skate piece.
cant believe we got a minifig from this early in the year
James Bond's son?
Dad?
Love how Cubot came out. Really need Orbot too, though…
Is that a torso from a battle droid in yellow.
@TheBrickPal: Which one, there was five of 'em, six counting 'Ohno'...wait, you're not talking about

:D
Also, and related...Nope, doesn't look a THING like:

Maybe 'Jaws 2.0'...but then he'd be confused with a shark...:)
Gotta go past this minifigure.
I'll put out the "this is not a minifig" thing y so that it can be done with and we can discuss higher aspects of the thing. Like, is it balanced enough to stand on its own without being pushed down onto a stud?
I used to call these two “Orbit and Cubit” as a kid. I predicted Mixels???
Also, who remembers the post-credits scene in Colors where Cubot’s hyper mode gets activated and he does that dance from that one meme where someone with a weird mask is preparing food and dancing? Pepperidge Farm remembers (meme probably came way later and was a coincidence, though).

Yep. I thought it was flaming orange, but you were right.
It's adorable. The use of a sideways roller skate for eyes is inspired.
i thought this was Sean the Sheep.
I didn't really pay attention to the name before, but now that I've noticed it, I have to ask: isn't it nice that Huwbot found a minifig whose name rhymes with his own?

Based on the simple fact that you even asked the question, I’m assuming you know that the toe-brake on the roller skate part being off to one side means this assortment of parts, that’s clearly the world’s most cowardly sheep, is asymmetrical. The toe-brake and the tail are probably close enough in weight and leverage (being near the center) that they don’t throw things too far out of whack. The articulation in the waist, neck, and shoulders is a more pressing concern. I would think that it should be possible to position them to achieve balance, although the shanks may be a little over-tenderized if it ends up pulling a muscle holding some contortionist pose.
What happened to the random part of the day?
Looks like an evolved form of the robot we het a couple days ago
Egg memo 13:
"Sage is performing at peak efficiency! Makes me wonder where I went wrong with Orbot and Cubot. Not only is she taking control of the Ancients' network, but she's harassing Sonic as well! I love it!"

First Rule of RPotD: Don't talk about the missing RPotD.
I like how RMotD probably really enjoyed our debate on the 3rd about what constitutes a minifigure, so it gave us more material to argue about.
i love this fella great idea for a build
