Hello. My name is Bjarke Lykke Madsen and I have Designed models for The LEGO Group for more than 28 years.
I have a background as a Mechanical Engineer. After my studies, I resumed my childhood interest in building with LEGO Bricks as my hobby. Later, I applied for the job as LEGO Designer and began 1. August 1997.
Over the years I have worked on more than 30 different LEGO themes and designed - or co-designed - more than 140 LEGO sets.
It has been my pleasure to work together with so many wonderful and multi-talented creative people within model-design, graphic-design and sculpture-design. All of them are great colleagues, and I am proud to call many of them my very best friends.
It´s important to emphasize, that making a new LEGO set and bringing it to the marked, is a very complex process that involves the skills, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm from hundreds of LEGO employees in many different departments: Design, Marketing, Building Instruction, Production, Packaging, Distribution and more. The goal is to make each LEGO set the best possible building- and play experience for our customers, and it only becomes possible, because everyone is working together to achieve this.
For this reason, and because I am a very strong believer in fairness, I have credited the colleagues, that I have worked together with on the various sets.
When new LEGO sets (that I have designed) have been released, I will continue to update this list with information which I hope will be interesting to LEGO enthusiasts of all ages.

The most tree-filled sets, either impressive single trees and tree-houses, sections of forest, or settings with an impressive tree or two within.
Homage to Classic Space
That red ship with its arcing contrail! That bright gold planetoid! Old LEGO spacers long for the days when parts with the Classic Space logo were readily available. We have lived through more than one drought of dedicated space themes since 1999. Luckily, The clever designers at The LEGO Group have managed to sneak in the odd reference to Classic Space more and more in the first quarter of the 21st century. Are you interested in hunting some of these parts down? This list attempts to identify more recently produced examples of (printed) parts and minifigures bearing the Classic Space logo, as well as parts needed to complete your lineup of chromatic astronaut minifigures. This list also includes parts that refer, pay homage to, or otherwise intersect with the various space sub-themes of the 80s and 90s (some of these are obvious, while others are pretty sneaky).
Inaccurate Ninjago sets
LEGO Ninjago sets which don't appear in the TV series or are different in the show.
I'm not including any of the Legacy sets, as those are meant to be reimaginings, not direct remakes of the originals. The EVO sets are also not included, as most of them were not designed to fit the show's canon.

This is my list of retailer exclusive sets. On the box these were often dubbed "special" or "limited" edition.
From my research it seems like they stopped using the label in 2014 so the list will cap off there.

- The later 2012 and 2013 Star Wars sets have a banner that says "New & Hard to Find Minifigures".

I owe all these sets below although I can't remember buying a LEGO box for myself in the past 6 years or so, so I guess I contributed enough to make them happen.

Vehicles Featured In CITY Media
It's all here! Every physical vehicle that makes an appearance in LC Adventures, LC No Limits, LC Studio, the iconic commercials, and of course, the Mini Movies! I will also be including City sets present in THE LEGO MOVIE franchise, because well, I grew up on CITY sets, and they had a big impact on my building career. However, this list will exclude any print material (as I would need a ton of help with that) or video games. The only two exceptions here will be LC Undercover and Dimensions. (let's face it Chase McCain is a legend!) More sets will be added regularly throughout my research and with new releases. They are most likely going to be commercials but hey, you never know!
DISCLAIMER: This list contains information that is not 100% accurate, it's solely based on my experience with the LC theme, therefore it should merely be used as a guide.

This is a list of models I have taken from beginning or early stages to the shelf.
Red BASIC Sets
These are the sets that have the word "BASIC" in red, or have the set number in red in the style of the other Red BASIC sets. Of all the types of BASIC sets, the Red BASIC sets are the ones made for the youngest children. (They have the largest and simplest parts.) The BASIC sets that LEGO produced had 3 levels: Red, Blue and Gray, each level being more complex respectively. (Toward the end of their production, the Gray BASIC sets were changed to Green for some reason.) These sets were made from the early 1980's to the mid 1990's.
The Red BASIC sets, more than any others, align with the core principles of LEGO's philosophy to fuel creativity, and they do so with beautiful simplicity. They are never licensed, never use electronics and don't contain stickers. Most of the minifigures (if you can even call them that) are the finger puppet style with a square 2X2 base. The fact that Red BASIC sets don't include instructions shows how they are intended to be a springboard for creative play instead of concentrating on a specific model.
The lack of diverse colors and specialized parts brings imagination to the forefront. When someone builds something with a Red BASIC set, his imagination is on display, not the LEGO parts. The sets on this list represent LEGO in its purest form.

Welcome to my set list!
I'm Bas Brederode, a senior designer at the LEGO company. In my 18 years at the LEGO company I've worked in many different departments as Star Wars, Batman, Games, Friends, DC Super Hero Girls and a couple of themes that didn't make it to production. In the Dutch/Belgian edition of LEGO Masters I fulfill the role of Jury, aka the Brickmaster.
For all of these sets I was responsible for finishing the final product. But to be honest, every LEGO set is a joint effort by the LEGO Design team that is responsible for the product line. On some sets I've mentioned other designers that have made a significant contribution to the product. Without them, the set wouldn't have been what it is today!

This list features every figure in the Collectable Minifigures theme that still has some totally exclusive element(s). 35 Largest LEGO Sets of All Time
This is the list of the biggest LEGO sets of all time by number of pieces.
Updated August 14, 2025.
If you had all of these sets, it would add up to 207,297 pieces. (Broke 200K pieces in 2023!)
This list reached a milestone in 2023 - every set in this list is over 4000 pieces! I remember starting this list circa 2017-2018 and only about five or six sets at the time were over 4000, with number 35 reaching as low as the 2700s. Interesting to see how quickly large sets like these have been coming out!
The set 40179 Personalized Mosaic is not included because it is not the same set every time. It has the same number of pieces in every set, but the final product is never consistent. In addition, there are two versions of the set, one with 4,502 pieces, and one with 6,002 pieces which adds to the inconsistency.

The Black Panther Collection
This list will not only contain every LEGO set to feature the king of Wakanda, T'Challa, but it will also act as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman who tragically passed away due to colon cancer in 2020. Chadwick was a truly amazing actor who breathed new life into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his role of Black Panther. Since there aren't that many sets to include T'Challa, I will also be including sets with Shuri. Not just after she drank the Heart Shaped Herb, but in general. As usual I will be excluding all combo packs and value sets since they're just multiple sets combined.

This is a list of sets I have designed since starting at LEGO. In an attempt to keep things simple, I'm going to attempt only to list sets I was directly responsible for. As designers, we work on a lot of different products in varying capacities. It is very common for a designer to work on a sketch model during the concept phase, and then hand that off to another designer to finish. I don't plan to list models I sketched on. If the designer responsible for finishing the set would like to mention me in their list that's great, but they are the ones who have to do all of the hard work to take it through the development process.
It's also important for people to know that the development process is a collaborative one, and there are many, many people involved in bringing every set to market. While the job of designers is important, there are plenty of valuable contributions that come from all sections of the company.
The Building Instructions team in particular does a lot to make sure that everyone who buys a LEGO set gets a great building experience. Toward the end of the design process, designers meet with Building Instructions to show them how the model is built, and to discuss how to communicate that through the set instructions. I always try to go in with a good way to explain how to build something, but sometimes I just don't have a satisfying solution. That's where the Building Instructions team comes in and uses their extensive knowhow to break things down into a clear and logical series of steps to help consumers get the most out of their sets.
All that said, being a set designer is a wonderful opportunity, and I hope I have spent my time making things that make people happy. ^_^

Micro-Mini Dolls
A list of all sets containing the LEGO Friends Micro-Mini Doll figurines.
These figures only appear in mini-doll themes so LEGO Friends, Disney and Gabby's Dollhouse at present. First introduced in 2020 with the LEGO Disney Storybooks these figures worked they way into being a staple of LEGO Friends sets. In 2023 the new Gabby Dollhouse theme released with some new Micro Mini Doll characters.

Which sets in the theme deserve such a title? Almost all of them actually!
Although "Dystopian" Is probably metaphor, I wanted to take some creative liberties :)
All Octan Tie-Ins (Updated!)
The Octan brand is somewhat of a legacy (at least it is in my experience) every other Bricklist I found did not update on Octan-branded sets, so that leaves me! Also kits that don't have a larger counterpart but appear to have the Midi-scale size/proportions.

My name is Antica and I am a Model Designer. I come from Croatia and before joining LEGO in 2016 I was a member of the AFOL community for about 7 years (since 2009, I believe). I am currently working on models for LEGO Icons theme. Before that I worked on LEGO Ideas and before that I spent 5 years on LEGO Friends.
Design process involves collaboration of numerous different departments and people, we have model design, graphics, elements, marketing, packaging, building instructions, masterdata specialists and many more. Within the design team most models are a work of more than just one person and are a product of team effort. Many models change hands several times, especially during concept stage. Later in the process one designer is appointed to take the model through the final stages and give it its final look.
This list contains models that I've taken through all the way, some of them from the first sketch. I will do my best to mention everyone who I collaborated with while working on these sets.

Hello! I am a Concept Lead in The LEGO Group, for the Gaming team. This means I develop new opportunities for the LEGO group, such as new brands to partner with or new ways to play with our existing lines. Alongside our awesome team of talented designers I have created and developed LEGO Animal Crossing, LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog and led concept development for LEGO Super Mario sub-themes such as Donkey Kong and Mariokart. Before joining the Gaming team I had the same role for LEGO Friends. It’s a really interesting and varied role… every day there’s new challenges to solve!

I'm an AFOL with a professional interest in disability issues, and I am also disabled and neurodivergent.
This list might be useful if you have an interest in disability representation in LEGO, or toys in general, or if you are looking to find parts and printing that relate to to disability, accessibility, injury or prostheses in your MOCs.

Baby figs
This is a list of every set that has the new LEGO Baby fig included.
This only includes the babies made of a new two piece design including a head smaller than the average LEGO Minifigure head piece and small body piece.
First released in 2016 with the LEGO City Fun at the Park set this new figure type has now been in over 22 sets, the most common design being the White Gown, basic smiley face one which is in 8 sets. With different head variants including one for the Child from Star Wars as well as a astronaut helmet and tanks for a space baby!

Stuff I built in Studio 2024
I built these models in Stud.io so I can give you a list of parts to order or a model to look at in 3D (with steps following the instructions). Not all the decorated parts were available when building these models, but you'll have a good point to start from when putting together an order for the required bricks.
