Featured BrickList Compiled by Bjarke. Updated 15 October 2025. Contains 146 sets.
Hello. My name is Bjarke Lykke Madsen and I have Designed LEGO sets for The LEGO Group for more than 28 years.

I have a background as a Mechanical Engineer. After my studies, I resumed my childhood interest in building with LEGO Bricks as my hobby. Later, I applied for the job as LEGO Designer and began 1. August 1997.

Over the years I have worked on more than 30 different LEGO themes and designed - or co-designed - more than 140 LEGO sets.

It has been my pleasure to work together with so many wonderful and multi-talented creative people within model-design, graphic-design and sculpture-design. All of them are great colleagues, and I am proud to call many of them my very best friends.

It´s important to emphasize, that making a new LEGO set and bringing it to the marked, is a very complex process that involves the skills, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm from hundreds of LEGO employees in many different departments: Design, Marketing, Building Instruction, Production, Packaging, Distribution and more. The goal is to make each LEGO set the best possible building- and play experience for our customers, and it only becomes possible, because everyone is working together to achieve this.
For this reason, and because I am a very strong believer in fairness, I have credited the colleagues, that I have worked together with on the various sets.

When new LEGO sets (that I have designed) have been released, I will continue to update this list with information which I hope will be interesting to LEGO enthusiasts of all ages.

    Enjoy & kind greetings - Bjarke :)

The first sketches of the helicopter in this LEGO set, was originally intended for another purpose. I changed the colors and details on the helicopter completely to apply a high-tech look to the model and thereby tailor-made the helicopter for Cyborg.
I am especially pleased with the play feature, where you can take the two weapons / equipment off the helicopter and put in the hands of the Cyborg LEGO mini-figure.
We also designed a totally new, round net, that can be launched from the helicopter to capture Reverse Flash.

Killer Frost was added at a later stage in development and I thought it was appropriate, that she should have a snow removal vehicle with an ice cannon on the back.

This LEGO set also include a Blue Energy Infuser. Together with the Red (from set 76096) and the Green (from set 76097) these three infusers can be used to play/pretend that Lex Luthors Mech (in set 76097) gets “powered up.”

This is the first LEGO set ever to include both The Flash and Reverse Flash as LEGO minifigures. Awesome :)

I began by building the cockpit. The Benatar has more organic shapes than The Milano, and the cockpit is at an angle position. I reused the decorated cockpit from set 76081, but also realized, that this would not be wide enough to allow multiple minifigures to be taken in and out the cockpit in a easy way. That gave me the idea of opening the rim around the cockpit (instead of the cockpit itself) and to make a small space scooter that would fit two minifigures. The scooter could when be taken in and out easily and that would also add a nice play-feature. And yes, I was inspired by a function in set 6986 from LEGO Space Police :)

Then I quickly sketched up the body of the ship to have a sense of scale and to have something to attach the wings on. I knew, that the wings, do to the angled position they have, would be the biggest challenge in the set, so once I had sketched the profile of the wings, I worked on the attachment-principle. My idea was to use 3,2 snaps and just let the wings "rest on a shelf" underneath. This also fitted the shape of the body of the ship. And this principle worked fine, but the weight of the wings pulled the body apart do to the walls of the body not being strong enough !
So, I used a plate 1x8 to bridge the two walls and to make a stop of the back-hatch. I also reinforced the walls on both sides with brackets and plates, and finally the construction was strong enough to hold the wings.

We thought it could be cool, if consumers could play, that the heroes load the Infinity Gauntlet into the cargo bay of the Benatar, and this way transport it out of Thanos´ reach. Furthermore we made it so that this set can be combined with set 76102, to form an ever bigger spaceship. My special thanks here go to John Cuppage (designer of set 76102) for the fun times we had making this possible.
Of all the LEGO sets I have designed, this is truly one of my favorites.

We thought, it would be cool to design a different type of vehicle for Batman, so I came up with the idea of a 3-wheeled motorbike, and by placing two wheels in the front and one in the back, I managed to make it look really powerful.
We wanted to include Ace the Bat-Hound in this set in the same manner as we had included Superman´s Dog Krypto in set 76096. Wherefore I made room on the side of the motorbike, so that Ace can stand there and assist Batman on his missions.

Together with set 76111 and set 76112, this was the first LEGO set to include the new Bat weapons- and elements that allows customization of the builds and minifigures.

It was the amazing LEGO Aquazone sets from 1995 that bought me back to collect and build with LEGO bricks again. Before that, I had a 13 years gab ( by some called the Dark Age ) where LEGO sets was completely non-present in my life.
I am also a huge fan of the movie "The Abyss" by James Cameron. I cannot imagine, that I will ever dive deep, but I can easily imagine just how exiting it must be, to discover an underwater enviroment with animals and plants and all.

So because of this backstory, it was great for me to design this LEGO set. I wanted to increase the pay value by including a small underwater environment with a plant and a classic, iconic shark. The shark fits on top the plant in the very same way it used to do in the LEGO Diver sets from 1997, and this creates the illusion, that the shark swims underwater.

It was really cool to get a chance to make a small set based on the dream sequence from the movie. The highlight in this set is of course the Batman minifigure in the Desert suit, made exclusively for this set.
