Featured BrickList Compiled by jackson_h. Updated 05 May 2025. Contains 6 sets.
This list includes the LEGO models I’ve designed since joining the LEGO Group in 2021. As a lifelong Star Wars fan and all-around geek, designing LEGO Star Wars models is my dream job. I’ve included some notes on the development of each model in the list below.

Bringing any LEGO set to life is a highly collaborative process with many contributors. While it’s impossible to name every person who brainstormed and offered great ideas, I’ve done my best to highlight the key people involved in each set. Thanks for reading!

This was the first model I designed at the LEGO Group, and I was very excited to work on something so iconic!

It was clear from the beginning of design that the big round window would be the most difficult and critical part to get right. The flex tube solution presented itself pretty quickly, but it took a lot of fine tuning to guarantee that no elements were being strained. I also built versions that used more Technic, bars/clips, or hinge elements, but flex tubes were the way to go. Big thanks to Pia Sonne for taking so many measurements of this part of the build!

The throne was surprisingly difficult too. Because this model is for ages 18+, we had a great opportunity to make a really accurate, advanced throne build that captured the unique, organic shape. This was challenging to do on such a compact scale and, at one point, I had ~20 different throne builds on my desk while trying to find one that worked (some of them from my awesome teammates).

Starting with this model, I include at least one Medium Azure element in each model I design. Two of the models I made as part of my recruiting process were primarily Medium Azure so that color is special to me :)

In addition to the folks specifically listed below, I’d like to thank César Soares and the entire LEGO Star Wars team for coaching me through this first model. I couldn’t have asked for better mentors.

The minifigures in this set come from the awesome finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. There are no small vehicles seen in the Siege of Mandalore, so we had some creative freedom in choosing the build. I developed prototypes for four canonically plausible options. We ultimately chose the Infantry Support Platform (ISP; also known as the Swamp Speeder) because we hadn’t made one since 2014, and vehicles that can fit more than one minifigure are very popular with kids.

Some of our newer round elements allowed me to make nice accuracy upgrades to this iteration of the ISP.

This set’s claim to fame is the amount of storage it boasts! While the E-Wing has one small compartment for Captain Porter’s blaster, Shin Hati’s starfighter has abundant usable space spread across three compartments (excluding the cockpit), including a compartment within a compartment! (I enjoyed seeing reviewers’ reactions to that.) The front compartment of Shin Hati’s starfighter is large enough to fit any minifigure in the set. There’s no canonical impetus for the storage compartments—they’re just usable space that adds more play to the model.

We developed two new elements for this set, the 1x6 slope and Morgan Elsbeth wig. We always strive to use existing elements to solve challenges, but sometimes we create new elements when there’s no other way or we can significantly boost quality by doing so. The 1x6 slope allowed me to capture the vertical taper of the nose without giving up its distinctive lateral narrowing.

My favorite feature of this set is the E-Wing’s retractable rear landing gear that folds out from under the wings and squishes the rubber axle connectors to rest in just the right place.

This was my first model with a large Technic frame and mechanical function, both of which were exciting new territory for me as a model designer.

Continuing the trend of set 75364, I tried to make every space in this big model useful. Thus, it has 5 openable doors for lots of access to the cozy interior!

This model makes heavy use of elements 11215 and 76766, which are among my favorite structural LEGO pieces. They’re great for building weight-bearing surfaces that don’t have much room for support underneath. In this model, they allow the cockpit and main interior floor to drop below the Technic frame while relying on the frame's stability, as the model stands freely on its side-mounted landing gear. I think the landing gear really elevates the model ;)

The meiloorun fruit in the crate is the same fruit that appears in 75357 Ghost and Phantom II, designed by Jme Wheeler!

I benefited a lot from sitting next to César Soares while he designed 75371 Chewbacca, and I was able to borrow some of his building techniques when I designed C-3PO. This model is in scale with 75379 R2-D2 and is very close to in scale with 75371 Chewbacca.

We color-changed 34 elements to moulded gold for this set and created two new elements, 5906 and 5907, which capture the round shape of C-3PO’s head. I made ~10 iterations of the head before we determined that new elements were necessary to do this droid justice. I love the versatility of these new elements! They fit with a lot of preexisting shapes, and you can use 8x of the quarter dome to make a 4x4 sphere by reversing stud direction on the inside :)

My favorite detail is the use of 2x4 windshield pieces (81911) on the shoulders. Recolored to gold, this is the first time this piece has appeared in an opaque color.

I’ve seen some comments online about the eyes seeming too big. Some of this might come from interpreting the 2x2 dish elements as being part of the eyes, whereas I actually intended those pieces to represent the concave areas around the eyes. In hindsight, I think the dish elements might have worked better in moulded gold (instead of drum lacquer), as that would've stood out less. The eyes themselves are only intended to be represented by the 1x1 round transparent yellow plates, which are almost exactly the correct size for this scale.

One question early in this model's design was whether it should be moulded gold, drum lacquer gold, or a mix of the two. We even prototyped a version using as much drum lacquer as possible, but it became clear that the hue of drum lacquer gold is too dark for C-3PO when used in large amounts. Wherever light isn’t reflecting off it, drum lacquer gold actually looks a lot like dark sand. The hue of moulded gold is more accurate.

The piece count of 1138 is an intentional reference to a number which appears dozens of times throughout Star Wars media as an easter egg to THX 1138, George Lucas’ directorial debut. When I realized the model would be close to this piece count, I moved some pieces around to get right on target :)

As with any revisit to something that’s been previously made as a LEGO set, this model gave me the opportunity to find ways its predecessor (2015’s 75060 UCS) could be improved upon or updated. 75060 is a masterpiece, but the LEGO building system has come a long way in the past 10 years and it was fun to see where new elements and building technology could be applied. Most of this model ended up being designed from scratch, but I did borrow a lot from 75060 for the nose section.

The ovoid-shaped base of the hull was the clearest opportunity for an update, as 75060’s is a bit too boxy. I printed a board with orthographic reference images scaled to the size of 75060 (we always planned for this model to be the same size) and began laying down curved elements with a goal of perfecting that shape’s perimeter. The excellent new 1x8x5/3 bow was a big help with this, courtesy of element designer Nicola Belfiore.

Nicola also designed the awesome new rangefinder for Jango’s helmet and the 4x4x5/3 bow (an extension of the previously existing 3573 bow). That element was created for this set to improve build experience and allow placement of stickers, but was first released with 75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet. Allan Faulkner designed the gorgeous new canopy element, which is 18-modules long!

My favorite feature of the model is the activating boarding ramp/entry hatch function, which came together in a satisfying way. The cockpit’s interior includes a reference to Oovo 4, the origin of this famous ship which we see in one of my favorite childhood videogames, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. The bacta tank in the gear storage area is also intended as a nod to that game.

This model has a seismic charge. BRRRRRMMMMMMMMMM

Big thanks to Mike Psiaki for consulting on some parts of the structure and, as always, the LEGO Star Wars team for lots of helpful brainstorming.
