- This was the very first set I worked on as a Model Designer.
I joined the LEGO Group in February 2024, in the LEGO Icons team and I was very happy when I learned my first product was not only going to be a Formula 1 car, but a Ferrari Formula 1 car! For someone who’s a fan of the sport this was a dream come true.
I collaborated closely with Scuderia Ferrari and Michael Schumacher’s team to get every detail of the model just right.
I worked together with Element Designer Nicola Belfiore who designed the new grooved wheels for the car, and Graphic Designer Ashwin Visser who designed all the graphics for stickers and decos and the Minifigure of Schumi (his chin was designed with extra attention to detail).
I managed to include a few easter eggs inside the model, including the skid plank underneath the car, the Italian flag in the engine bay and a few others that I will let the builders find out for themselves.
