LEGO has announced another VIP Add-On Pack polybag, 40608 Halloween Fun VIP Add-On Pack!

The set contains a variety of Halloween-themed parts to supplement your creations. Assuming it follows the example of earlier packs, this will be available for LEGO Insiders with LEGO.com purchases over £50, $50 or €50, but the duration of this promotion is not yet known.

WHAT!!! THIS IS THE BIGGEST SURPRISE OF THE DECADE!!!

THEY ARE STILL CALLING IT A VIP PACK INSTEAD OF AN INSIDERS PACK!!!!!!!

Ooh! Might be an easy way of getting the purple CS helmet which is currently only available in 80111.

By in Ireland,

I hadn't realised from the earlier, smaller photo that the cone int he bottom left looks to be glow in the dark. There seems to be at least one glow in the dark carrot top piece too.
It would be nice to know when it goes live though.

Still as a VIP Add-On Pack, not the Insiders Add-On Pack?

Ah yes, the traditional Halloween baguette carving.

By in United States,

Am I the only one who sort of internally cringes at the thought of dividing up all my VIP Add-On pack parts among my spare brick supplies? ("PARTS IN A SINGLE SET HAVE TO STAY TOGETHER!") At least I got most of my Chinese New Year parts into a single diorama.

I have a problem. Anyway, I'll combine this with 40513 and it won't feel so bad.

I'm just waiting for the double points thing in October. There's always a week in October where double points occurs, and I wouldn't be surprised if this pack's duration overlaps with it.

That’s what I’m hoping. I’m thinking of getting another 10497 for the medium-sized ship alternative build.

For some reason I still have my VIP packs in their original bags and haven't fed them into my larger parts collection. I probably will once I have a need for a particular piece from one of them.

By in Norway,

Looks like it is not for european /Norwegian users. I was thinking to buy something but it did not came up. The item was over the limit.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Okay maybe stupid question but is this all Lego is doing for Halloween this year? Don't we usually have a fall-themed animal set (like the plinths) and one or two GWPs???

Not stupid at all. I have seen others asking too, and you're right--it seems like there have been lots of leaks and previews about Christmas stuff already but nothing for Halloween. Perhaps on October 1 there will be a surprise or two.

Last year was Creator 40562, the 3-in-1 witch. I recollect that it was somewhat controversial since it seemed like a decent set that would have done well at conventional retail. (I have one, still haven't built it.)

You might need to wait until the promotion actually starts before it’ll show up in your bag.

do we know when the promotion will start? Halloween is a bit vague

@samikaz:
I'm reading the same article you are. It lists estimated spending thresholds, and says the promotion dates are unknown. This means the promo is not active, and is probably at least a couple weeks away. It also means an official announcement will be coming soon.

Unfortunately it seems to be the case. Rather frustrating when other holidays or even seasons get sets, but this year hardly a thing for Halloween or autumn.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If only it had the purple oxygen tank. Then I truly wouldn’t need HOL319.
Wishful thinking, but perhaps this will line up with the rumored Double Insiders Point day in October.

I was hoping for the Nightmare Before Christmas ideas set to be released this year for Halloween but it doesn’t seem like that will happen.

Let's be honest with ourselves. That doesn't count and shouldn't count when Lego had no issue releasing the "Haunted House" a few years back and still put out actual Halloween sets that same year.

If corporate thinks that a niche set like Hocus Pocus has enough crossover with people who want Halloween Lego sets, they're sorely mistaken.

The cynic in me says that's a deliberate ploy by Lego - get a purple Classic Space helmet, but only if you spend £50 on some other Lego!!

There was a leak for a small pirate Halloween GWP. Other than that, I don't know of anything else.

I think we’ve been spoiled with great seasonal sets for the last couple of years so it seemed strange for that to not be the case this year.

Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters' Cottage."

Point taken, though I would also say that is a pretty significant price difference from the $12.99 usual seasonal set.

The main reason I buy things these days is to have fun little sets like that to build with my daughters on holidays. They’re not quite ready to take on the Sanderson Cottage, though we do have the Haunted House for my wife to tackle

Gravatar
By in United States,

We did have stuff for V day 40638 (admittedly kinda weak but still nice in its way) & Easter 40587 (pretty good I thought, definitely better than V day) this year, so I’m guessing (hoping) something will still come out for Halloween. I do hope it’s not a pumpkin wall hanging…

Gravatar
By in United States,

Could it be 71426?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Personally I would say we've been spoiled for good seasonals, but I'll at least give credit that they've been trying to do unique ideas.

There’s a carrot in there that looks like it is glow in the dark too.

This is the same question that I have been asking. Still holding out hope that there will be a vignette for Halloween this year.

Will be picking up the winter village set + the Millenium Falcon christmas diorama set when this Halloween add on pack is available.

By in Poland,

You think LEGO decided 6 skeletons was too much last year, in 40513?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wish they would give us a release date for this. I've got a PAB list that I've been holding off on submitting waiting for some gwp's as well as a few other items that can't be gotten elsewhere. Was really hoping there'd be some kind of offer this week.

Remember when it used to be the WHOLE MONTH of October that we got double VIP points?

Agreed. I've got a PAB list that I've been holding off on for about two weeks, hoping that this would release BEFORE October. So much for 'hoping'...

I'm so excited, now, I don't need to steal the purple space helmet from the Chinese figure in 80111. If only, there were a purple O2 tank, inside.

Even though I’m only missing the one pack that the US never got, I think I still have more of Spooky than all the rest combined. Most of them I only got once.

Yes I do. I wish that was still the case. What's worse though is that we don't get the calendar to know when things happen. Hopefully we get an email soon.

@Walnut_Candle: This may be a little 'late', but check your country's Lego site's PAB, because the said tanks/bottles are now there (at least: they showed up on Canada's, and they're "Standard"; so that 'should' be there). Added bonus: So are the helmets...I ordered 10...of each. Now, am I "Army Building" or "Navy Building"...:)

Awesome! Thank you so much! Never would have thought of that.

Now to just wait for them to be back in stock cause it seems quite a few people discovered them. . .

@Walnut_Candle: You're welcome.

@PDelahanty: Not quite "the same thing"...but did you about the 'rumored' Space CMF set supposedly coming out next year...various places/YT channels have teased a Classic Spaceman in Medium Azure? Wish I could track a pic down, but if turns out to be true...I'm buyin' A BOX!:D

By in United States,

This set is officially out; I acquired it earlier today at the Lego Store in Bellevue, WA with a $50 purchase.
