Posted by CapnRex101,
The taxi gift-with-purchase mentioned in the press release for 76269 Avengers Tower has now been revealed, via a LEGO Insiders email.
Four minifigures are supplied with the taxi, including its driver, Black Panther and two Outriders. This set will be available with 76269 Avengers Tower between the 24th-27th of November.
Thanks to BricksFanz for bringing this to our attention.

Did you even read the text? "This set will be available with 76269 Avengers Tower between the 24th-27th of November."
It's not really making me want to pull the trigger on an early purchase.

Oh, I thought that meant it was releasing on the same day. A shame since I don't want the tower.
It's been nearly 20 years since I lived in Manhattan. Is that what New York taxis look like, now? My guess is ... they do not.
Hopefully we get double points for black friday as well!
Seems pretty random. Black Panther has never been anywhere near the Avengers Tower in the MCU. It's the figure from the £8.99 set (76212), so very easy to get. The best part otherwise is another Avengers baseball cap like on the Kevin Feige minifig, along with possibly another coffee cup top tile (check what KF is holding in this image: https://images.brickset.com/sets/AdditionalImages/76269-1/76269_alt15.jpg )
Les taxis jaunes de NEW YORK ne ressemble pas du tout a cela ; mais bon se sont de beaux cadeaux
So a GWP for Marvel gets 4 minifigures and Star Wars doesn't even get a GWP for the Venator.
4 minifigs and a build! After the iron on patches and a useless slab of metal do you need anymore proof Lego disrespects Lego Star Wars fans?

If only there was a way to show lego that without a GWP people will not buy the new StarWars UCS...

Do they really? You still get higher quality figures than most themes combined. Like that captain rex. Super detailed. Then look at the figures in this set.
Disclaimer: I am NOT in any way defending lego
It’s… fine? I guess? Hardly something that’d tip me over to pulling the trigger on the set it’s accompanying.
Why are taxis something that Lego has avoided making over the years? We’ve gotten dozens of police and fire sets, but why haven’t we gotten a taxi that’s not a gwp or an element of a larger build?
The car looks like a Camaro or a Corvette taxi...
When they said Iconic Taxi in the press release, the picture in my head is the taxi from Taxi (TV show) type...

2013 Rex is still a better fig in my opinion minus the arm printing of the new fig. The rumoured Sailbarge next year will be a more comparable set for sure but the GWP for that should be a Skiff after this,

I haven't been in New York for a very long time neither. But if I google "New York taxi" you get all kinds of vehicles. Lots of Prius and other Toyotas next to the kind of taxi you might be expecting to see (which you also get). So, I guess, to an extent this may actually be what taxis in New York (and anywhere else) may look like today.
Edit: in fact, it looks quite a bit like a Tesla, and those creep up as taxis now as well.
Quite happy not being the target audience for this. And this also makes one more available for those who do want it. The cab 40532 that came with the modular a few years ago was (IMO) so much better.
How do passengers get in the Taxi?
I see how they get ON the Taci, but not IN.
I'd rater have doors than Outriders.

Funny I left NYC in early 2002. Can't say for sur if NYC , but I doubt it.
Lego is STILL trying to get rid of those outrider figures? This is a weird gwp..
40532 was much better. 605-2 was OK. The current 40468 is just weird. But the best was, of course, 315-3.
Ummm, yay?
The taxi looks lame to me.
Also, the Daily Bugle came with what I imagine people think a traditional NYC taxi looks like included with it. Not a limited time offer that, if you purchase the set a year later down the road to get a sale price, you miss out on.
And while I guess the Tower looks good, it is 650 dollars Canadian! Who has the money for these?

I seem to remember from last year that double points were VIP weekend (the weekend before Black Friday).
The bar for gwps has been high this year and it's not one of the most impressive. I guess it's still way better than the gwp for the colosseum

Double points are ALMOST confirmed in the Lego website FAQ:
What's different about LEGO® Insiders Weekend?
Nothing – except the name! LEGO® Insiders Weekend is the same as LEGO VIP Weekend.
Are there new benefits for LEGO® Insiders weekend?
The benefits for this LEGO® Insiders Weekend are similar to what you would have seen in previous VIP Weekends. We can’t share details about specific rewards just yet, but expect to see exclusive competitions, discounts and a new brick reward.
Vroooooom vrooooooooom 200mph through Manhattan!
Weird set.
Who cares? Bricklink is back.

BrickLink's back? Alright!
I'll go do a thing now.
Very relieved that I have zero interest in the taxi and zero interest in the minifigs. Plus it comes in one of those generic yellow boxes like a picture frame with an image of the set slotted in.

I'll have to disagree with you there, and not just because 40532 is the only one of those I own. It's also the only one that can actually carry minifigs.
That’s not the driver it’s another Kevin Feige!
That's no 40433 1989 Batmobile. That set-specific GWP is the standard by which I judge all others. I'll wait to get the tower on a discount.

No, they don't but when have actual facts stopped a Star Wars fan acting entitled about anything connected to their beloved franchise.
The Taxi from 76178 looks so much better.

IMO the skiffs (there were two) should be part of the set, as they're quite integral to the scene!
I'm relieved that the GWP is terrible. If you are buying Day 1 it sucks though.
I Think it's Kevin Feige in LEGO Minifigure form as the NY Taxi Cab driver @CapnRex101.

The threshold is 500 EUR for this one.

@greycat
This is what NYC taxis currently look like:
https://brickset.com/parts/design-53119
BTW, that's also what they looked like during Avengers.
BTW, it's also what they smell like.
BTW, same for Vegas.
A truly awful GWP for such an expensive set.
The Taxi represents no car from the period of the film.
Can you even put 2 cmf into it?
It would have made more sense to make the GWP a truly large Leviathan, with more Chitauri.....
Unless TLG plan to sell a stand alone Leviathan?
Is this a taxi cab or a yellow uber?
Yikes.
I am genuinely annoyed by how many outriders I have at this point.
On one hand, I'm just as underwhelmed by this set as everyone else.
But then on the other hand, I won't feel like I am missing out on a Marvel-specific GWP.
(OK, but seriously - this is the GWP?!)
Looks like downtown Chicago
Yay! It's set-exclusive for a theme I don't collect and I anti-want this GWP! It looks like they designed everything below the pillars and ran out of parts budget.
@monty_bricks:
Is that supposed to be Black Panther? I thought it was the alien from Asteroid City...
@kfr:
In the past, there was a universal style NYC taxi cab produced under contract. These days, you really just need to have it painted the same color yellow, and have a medallion to be a NYC taxi. Crown Vics are, of course, a very standard style, but that's because many taxi companies buy up used police cars to convert into taxis due to them being built more durable than standard civilian cars. I remember seeing something where the person running the company said the police department would drive them to 100,000 miles before selling them, and they'd buy them and put another 200,000 miles on them before letting them go. Not many cars can make it to 300,000 miles, even with persistent maintenance.
If the baddies had been corrupted Iron Legions and the hero Quicksilver, wouldn't hesitate.

BOOHOO!
What a weird choice for a set. The Outriders are never depicted in a city or near a taxi cab. Black Panther is never depicted in a US city that would have taxis like this, or near a taxi cab. None of them are ever depicted in NYC, the city this cab design is specifically supposed to invoke. And neither Black Panther nor the Outriders are ever seen around Avengers Tower, the set that this is meant to pair with. Black Panther hangs around Avengers Tower in non-MCU media, such as some of the Avengers cartoons, but there are no Outriders in those.
The Avengers tower has some similar weird choices - why Wong? Where's Quicksilver, Maria Hill, or Phil Coulson?
Right, that makes my christmas list a little cheaper. They could have chosen something more connected with marvel though.
I doubt this will ever be discounted via lego.
Really confused about the source material here. Black Panther and the Outriders were never in New York City and I don't think they had yellow cabs like that in Wakanda
This set (the GWP) is getting a lot of undue hate, it's better than the random tat they do sometimes ( that said I like the VIP blanket, I'm using it right now), 4 minifigs in a GWP is pretty good and it's something that fits (vaguely enough anyway) with the tower scene.
Yes it could still be better, it have rathered even more Chitari than outriders, and I was hoping when this leaked ( because it was too blurry to tell) that it would be the Shuri Black Panther as she is harder to get ( and makes as much sense here as T'challa)
I did say yesterday that I was interested in this but not the tower; now having seen it, I am not really interested in either... My town will keep the MOC black cab I made years ago instead.

Presumably kids don't want a single taxi. Going somewhere unspecified in a taxi is not really a scene played out by many kids. Whereas they have appeared in bigger sets where it makes sense that someone might take a taxi.

Hey can I have some of your outriders? LOL
But naw, seriously, while I can appreciate having alot of bad guys for my good guys to fight. However, and I hate being a IT NEEDS LEG PRINTING kind of person, but I feel for this time they shoulda gave the outriders leg printing to make them at least a little bit more appealing in this set since we keep getting outriders.
Accurate or not, I’m not dropping $500 on the tower without getting the GWP.
This GWP shows that LEGO is actually listening to their customers! The last time they asked about the VIP program, I suggested that a GWP should complement the purchase because it makes sense. First the Blacktron Cruiser with the Galaxy Explorer, and now this.
Since this is accompanying that avengers tower, the taxi driver should have been Stan Lee.
Am I wrong?

No sir; you are correct.

Stan Lee certainly would have been a bigger draw than a repeat of Humpty Dumpty there.
Modeling the taxi after a Mitsubishi Eclipse was a weird design decision.
For one thing, it's a 2-door.
If that's a taxi, I'm an Asgardian.

The Blacktron Cruiser was not a gift with the Galaxy Explorer. It was with any purchases that met the threshold. You would not have got it when buying just the Galaxy Explorer as that would not have met the threshold.
I thought it was a Wakandan taxi when I first saw it - but there’s no taxis in infinity war

I virtually stand corrected - no, the Blacktron Cruiser was not a gift with the purchase of a Galaxy Explorer alone; still, it was definitely intended to complement the Galaxy Explorer set, just as the taxi complements Avengers Tower.
I just have one clarifying question. Will this set only be online or is it in person too?
Apparently all decorations are prints, which all of a sudden makes this highly desirable!
