Jumped in and placed my order this morning! Snagged the Bookshop (among other things) after much deliberation. It’ll go very nicely in my Ghostbusters scene as a spiritual Ray’s Occult, and I’m sure there’ll be something nasty in the basement next door…
Somewhat contradictorily, using a discount code makes it harder to get to a GWP threshold, as I have just discovered.
Pre-ordered the new modular. Got the two GWP, plus VIP points worth £25 instead of £12.50, for my next purchase.
So preordering the Modular Museum will give you double Insider Points once the set is shipped?
I’m really quite disappointed in Lego again. I’m based in Switzerland and not only do we not get the 3x and 4x promotion on selected sets but the gifts with purchase threshold is crazily high. The equivalent of 310 euro for the magical workshop and 206 euro for the winter market gwp. That’s close to 25% more that we need to spend compared to any of our neighbouring countries.

And we are also excluded from 1'000'000 Insiders points
Stays the buildable cassette player
I was surprised how OK it was. Logged on at 11:55 sat in a que until 12:03 added what I wanted to my bag, applied my discount code and checked out. No crashes, no endless reloading and no uncertainty as to if my order had gone through or not. Much better than previously.
All good once they'd coaxed the reward centre into to life!
Got Concorde, Hogwarts Professors Brickheadz, a couple of keychains, 3 GWPs and the Christmas Bauble tat (plus the cassette player code for next time)
The only discount code I might have been interested in was the John Deere Skidder, but that's already cheaper on Amazon!
There’s good margins to be made by buying and reselling these discounted sets. And with the largest secondary market also owned by LEGO, we can indirectly pay them twice!

When viewing an order, there's a note that says "We'll add them to your account once we've dispatched your order from our warehouse." so whenever it ships, on or around December 1, the double points should appear in your account.
I added about $20 of needed standard PaB to my discounted Assembly Square to meet the GWP threshold, so I expect to see the double points for the Square when it ships in the coming week, and see the PaB double points whenever the parts eventually ship.
Over got plans to buy things that would easily cover the GWP spend threshold, but really not impressed with the GWPs! Thinking of holding out for something better...

Same here, apparently it has to do with the gambling policies of our countries that do not allow such competitions.
Was going to grab the Modular Museum to qualify but thinking of holding out for the inevitable hot dog van.
Disappointed to see Viking Village, Ideas Insects etc still not restocked on the Australian store. It’s been about a month now that they’ve been OOO.
Pretty stupid that the discount codes factor in before promos... it wasn't always like that if I recall. The GWP threshold is already way too steep for the sets, too.
Buying multiple discounted sets where you need to redeem the code isnt possible, only one per order as I've just found out.
Even though you get 2 GWPs at the €250 threshold the individual thresholds are too high and the sets look disappointing. I settled for the Creator Ford Mustang with the €35 off (bringing the price down from €170 to 135 so no Christmas Market stall). Ultimately discounts are more appealing than unwanted GWPs.

I don't know about "always" but it's definitely worked like that before.
I see a lot of complaints here, but I feel pretty good about the experience overall. Bottom line is I bought $250 in LEGO, and got $25 worth of vip points plus $50 worth of GWP sets. Sure, some things about Majisto could have been better, but I fully believe I and many others would purchase it as a $30 set, which is what LEGO values it at. Same for the $20 winter village stall. So I spent $250, got $75 back in value, essentially 30% off, and that’s not counting the $20 I saved on Winnie the Pooh set. Also picked up Viking village.
Got a modular, a bunch of PAB, two GWPs, 10% back in VIP, and in theory, another 3% back from my CC company. Not sure if I'll keep the Majisto and Winter GWPs, but at least they fit with themes I have.
Pass. Buying the sets I want at retailers for 20% off or more definitely seems like the better value in this case.

Agree we are likely entering an era where we see a lot more discounts. Next few years very different than the past few.
Well Lego's warehouse department is certainly more efficient than their IT department. Shipped 6 hours after ordering... Very impressed!
Some Insider Weekend rewards are offline again at the Belgian website.
[edit: (about a half hour later) they are back]
And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Insider Weekend from the 18th to the 19th?
If so, they seem to have added another day... it now shows ending on the 20th!

Which code? The set-specific ones, or the standard “$X off total purchase” codes? The latter should not impact your GWP threshold. You don’t _earn_ points on points spent, but they still count your towards your order subtotal. If it’s the Black Friday codes for rebates on specific sets, you could try calling customer service. I know they had wonky issues with them in the past because they had to be treated differently than other rebates, like they had to be entered as a physical Reward, which prevented you from adding an actual physical Reward, so customer service had to do all kinds of back-end adjustments to allow people to combine the two.
the sale prices for certain sets can be "sold out?" wtf. ordered Medieval Blacksmith and just double points instead, okay i guess. limit on sale prices is pretty lame, Lego

I guess they're acknowledging the comple shambles they made of the Rewards Centre, and giving it an extra day. Quad Points on everything would have been a better acknowledgement!
@Brianb_ie:
I don’t get it. They said all EU pricing would be standardized, but I’ve seen a steady trickle of contradictory information. They may have only meant actual retail prices, in which case GWP spends were not included. I mean, you don’t have it as bad as Australia/New Zealand, or South America, and I’ve given up understanding what’s going on with Canada, but being sandwiched between various other nations that are even using the same currency, and still being treated differently is just weird.
@yap:
Do you ever get access to the sweepstakes? In Canada, I think it’s Quebec that’s usually firmly excluded from the all. Every other province is free to participate, but that one province has such onerous rules regarding sweepstakes that it’s just not worth the effort to comply.
@denn:
This is true of most codes. Exceptions include standard rebates of your total purchase and, I would assume, digital downloads like coloring pages. But set-specific rebates, discounted rebates, sweepstakes entries, and so on have sold out in the past.
Pro tip:
If you want to use multiple coupons (i.e., $60 off Assembly Square or $20 off Winnie the Pooh), or if you want to use a coupon in combination with a code for a physical reward like the Cassette Player or Bauble, order your purchase without the coupon(s). After you place your order, contact customer service to say you were limited to one. They can't give you a refund of the coupon amount, but they can give you the equivalent in Insiders points (so 7,800 in the case of Assembly Square, redeemable for $60 in vouchers). You aren't getting the immediate savings, but most of us here are going to make another purchase from Lego someday, and you also get double points on the amount you would not have paid today (so an extra $6 on Assembly Square).
I can't guarantee this for everyone, but it was my experience with the coupons last year and Lego customer service seems pretty consistent. They told me that the coupon should have been treated like a money off voucher but it was instead put in the system like a physical reward. Apparently (and unsurprisingly), that didn't get fixed this year.

Switzerland is not in the EU and not in the Eurozone (still uses Swiss Francs as their currency).
Average wages in Switzerland are well above those of their neighboring countries (and most other European countries for that matter), so this could explain the difference in threshold (I'm not saying this is a good reason, but it could be an explanation).

Agreed! the swiss should not complain, just as the Qatary, Dubaiy etc etc
"poor" countries like south america, they can complain

Thanks for the clarification. Just an extra info, the prices are also higher with a 10-20% than in EU. And this puts the prices in to the zone where Lego is really a luxury thing.
Most of the time the difference in thresholds wasn’t that bad, but this with the Majistos workshop. It’s simply insane.

No. It’s just an insanely expensive plastic toy.
The addiction of the buyers and brainless money spent, what makes it to the luxury category. but it doesn’t mean, that Lego should be there.
@YanVanLan:
Ah, well, there you go, then. Surrounded by EU, by Eurozone, by €, and part of none of them. Look what happened to the UK prices when they broke free.

expensive for what it is... so like all luxury items
Looks like most the discount codes are sold out already. I feel a little baited for waiting till today. Even with a limit of one per person. That’s a little disappointing. Next time I’ll stay up and order before I go to sleep.
Is there a code or something special that needs to be done to get the triple reward points on the selected sets? I added the Pac-Man Arcade Cabinet to my bag and its only showing double points, not triple.
EDIT: Nevermind, it gave me the 3x points after I went through checkout. It showed the double of 3,510 when in my bag, but after paying and going through checkout it said I earned 5,265.
Finshed a large home project earlier today - swapper carpet for hardwood in all bedrooms. As a reward, I subsequently went to my LEGO store to get the castle 10305. Had a great chat with the folks there, got the Majisto’s workshop, the Xmas market stand, and the little train. A happy day today!
I was a bit bummed after the coupon code for City Gardens sold out today on the Insider page. I did order Assembly Square as a gift with the discount code.
I decided to make a trip to the LEGO store and there I was able to purchase City Gardens at the sale price. They had a QR code the cashier scanned for the discount. Spent way more than I planned, but with the GWPs and double points, seemed to be a decent value for a fantastic set!
Just bought the beautiful Tranquil garden and some more sets to reach the threshold for 40601 and 40602, can't wait to receive them :-)
I managed to snag the Ninjago City Gardens and the 3 free gifts. I'm happy, now no more spending for a very long time.
I don't like doing negative posts, but I'm really annoyed by this weekend. I was very excited to buy the Medieval Blacksmith, but when I tried to find the code I couldn't. After a quick Google search I learned they only had limited amounts of codes, something they did not advertise in all the advertising they kept posting in the lead up. I wouldn't have minded if they said in their adds "discount for the first X Insiders" or something like that...very disappointed.
Does double points apply to scanning instructions?

Doubt it. But it's hard to rule it out, since they don't have a lot of non-purchase options for adding points to your account.
