BrickLink designer program series 3 finalists announced

Posted by ,

The five designs that have been chosen to progress to the crowdfunding stage of BrickLink Designer Program series 3 have been announced.

Don't get too excited just yet, though: that stage of the process does not begin until October 2024, so it will be well into 2025 before they are produced as sets.

The timetable for all three series is as follows:

  • Series 1: Crowdfunding in February 2024, shipping in July
  • Series 2: Crowdfunding in June 2024, shipping in November
  • Series 3: Crowdfunding in October 2024, shipping in March 2025

View the five winning designs after the break then let us know in the comments which ones you are most excited about.

Harbormaster's Office

The Art of Chocolate

Forest Stronghold

Camping Adventure

Lost City

By in Australia,

Awesome choices!!! RIP my wallet (in 2025...)

By in United Kingdom,

Can't wait to see those 2025 prices.

By in United States,

Forest Stronghold looks fantastic! Basically 2 castles in one. Whether I get it will depend heavily on the price, but I've got a year to save up and think about it :P

By in United Kingdom,

That forest stronghold looks pretty cool. BUT I don't have the money to start collecting Bricklink sets.

By in United States,

I'll pick up Forest Stronghold and Lost City. Love the way they look.

By in Netherlands,

Why does Bricklink not have a mobile version in 2023?

Gravatar
By in Romania,

2 Castle sets? Wow, seems the people DO want those Castle sets ...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really like that Forest Hideout!

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are really nice designs. Realistically I'll probably only get the Forest Hideout, but some great choices here.

By in Canada,

Forest stronghold is not much of a forest... :)

It's a nice set, but the pricing of it will be sky high.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Chocolate, Camping and Lost City are all on my list! Love all these though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Camping Adventure!

It's cute and not enormous.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Probably getting them all.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Forest Stronghold looks great but the price will probably be eye-watering and I already have Castle in the Forest. The Lost City though, that's different enough and looks a bit smaller. Potential is there.

By in United States,

Wow. These are all fantastic.

By in United Kingdom,

The representation of the water level in the Harbormaster's Office set around the rowing boat as being substantially above that represented by the plates the set is built on (whilst good in theory) will cause nothing but metaphysical confusion when integrated into the wider Lego environment. It blows my mind just thinking about it.
That being said, I like the set & its a nice selection of sets in general.

By in United States,

Good group this time around!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Love the camping set. Also looks like it's going to be the only affordable one.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Lost City looks like a great D&D setting.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Art of Chocolate should be done as next years Winter Village set rather than through this process.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Great choices, these all look nice...but I can't justify paying the high prices of Bricklink Designer Program sets so if that trend continues I'll pass (though I'll still enjoy watching the race to pre-order when they go live. Last time FOMO almost made me pull the trigger for the Observatory but in the end my wallet won the battle).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why does the process take so long?

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I like the lost city but, i would go with the forest stronghold as my favourite.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I can see the camping set displaying nicely next to the Treehouse or A-Frame Cabin. The castle will sell out within minutes.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Oh God. I feared (and craved for), they will select forest stronghold. My wallet just started to cry because I want set from S1 - S3 crowdfunding

Gravatar
By in South Africa,

These look quiet nice. But "luckily" I don't want any, since they *still* don't ship here...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am glad the art of chocolate has finally made it into production, although with so much detail inside and outside this is a fantastic set but the price may make you consider other options. The Forest Castle will instantly sell out and also gives you the option to create just one large castle!

By in Japan,

All good builds and definitely not the worst of the bunch, but none that are particularly interesting to me. I had rather seen a few other ones.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

the chocolate shop would fiit perfect in a winter village!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Great sets, and I really like aesthetics of the Lost City, it's different enough to be really interesting. However, I attempt to temper my purchases of official Lego sets , so I won't be adding Bricklink to that number. Best of luck to those who do.

By in United Kingdom,

'Camping Adventure' and 'The Art of Chocolate' are the 2 that I may well be tempted by. The others don't really grab me that much.

Gravatar
By in Bulgaria,

Camping adventure please. Too many big sets still in the "Want" list! :D

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Great and creative designs, but give the winners a medal and sell the instructions for $9.99, we got enough sets designed by your random neighbour with a price equivalent to the GDP of Burkina Faso.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Awesome! Two of my favorite things combined: LEGO and chocolate :)

By in United States,

Was this the series that included the Mushroom House?

If so, I'm sad that it wasn't selected. I know the Designer Program winners tend to be huge sets (modular-style or Castle), so it's too bad that the Camping Adventure got the one "smaller set" slot in this series. It's really nice, but there have been plenty of other camper/RV sets before, where as the Mushroom House was more unique and whimsical.

The Mushroom House is a finalist in Series 2 of the Designer Program on Bricklink. Crowdfunding for Series 2 is in June 2024.

By in Brazil,

Bricklink sets are a pass for me due to lack of printed instructions.
