Friends Advent Calendar - Day 23

Posted by ,

There's a bit of a theme going in the last couple days of the calendar - the last two days have built parts of a train. We're so close to the end of the calendar, and I think we may see something else train-related behind today's door.

Yes, as surmised, we have the third car in the train. This one has the same red wheels and bright green trim, but the cargo area is a bright blue. Not quite what I expected.

It's a very attractive train, but I do wish that the blue cargo area was either red or green to fit with the season. Regardless, this should provide some transportation for at least some of the pets!

By in Australia,

The Christmas link might be a little tenuous, but it is an absolutely gorgeous little train, and I love it. This is the way to actually do multiple small builds that actually create something really cool, all together.

"Dejá vu, I have been in this place before..."

It looks nice on the whole. So many wheels! But the tan-keetorange-blue doesn't do it for me.

It's weirdly par for the course with the new generation of Friends to try to balance so many clashing colors somehow

Not bad, Friends.

I agree the colors could be more festive. But, it's far better than Marvel (cape, webs, crap racks, or crap tables, anyone?).

"I mean, on the one hand, you could argue that these are lazy repeats - but the end-result is pretty beefy, and even the individual builds look good. I'm on board with this.

You can decide for yourself whether or not that pun was intended. Whichever makes you the happiest. Merry Christmas!"

I think this should be standard for the advent calendar format. The entire calendar should be tied together by or tied to the “big multi-day build”.

Imagine what a stackable micro-scale modular avengers tower might look like over three days.

Hmm, probably like that lame-ass turkey gun from last year.

Or, the build from 76196.

Hmmmm…maybe the end car on the train is the swimming pool?

I was thinking this would be color-coded so you could see which animals would go on which cars, but all seven animals have different colored stands, and only one really matches (medium-blue, lime, red/bright-green, red, orange, yellow, and medium-azure vs tan, bright-light-orange, and medium-azure). In order to fit all seven, the dog would need to go in this car, and the salamander between the dog's legs.
