City Advent Calendar - Day 3

Posted by ,

Day 2 gave us a signpost leading the way to Old St. Nick and his trusty reindeer. I like that we've had two decent builds in the first two days. Let's see what Day 3 has in store for us.

This is a very nice build! The signpost was showing the way to this reindeer. Using only a few pieces, this is a very credible rendition of a reindeer. It's unfortunate that there isn't a 1x1 red stud for the nose, but really, I don't think we'd find Rudolph at a Christmas market.

Little builds like this are exactly what I hope to see behind every advent calendar door.

... except we got a spare 1x1 red stud with the snowman, two days ago.

And, with yesterday's Justifier.

Ah, the dragon from earlier! And it appears to be a droid! Maybe related to that one droid from Rise of Skywalker with the cone head, but this one has even more elaborate antenna!

I like this build. It's well done :)

I would like point out that the orifice that spits out the eggs, well - that's not a mouth."

I don't get how there are different colours of birdo

A deer with antlers of solid gold sounds like it’s right out of a fairy tale

@MeganL, is that a notch in the side of the face cone, or a weird reflection of light?

Just the other day I was wondering why she has yet to appear in the Mario theme.

She already has. It was in the latest series of Mario blind boxes if I recall correctly.

It must be a reflection! There's nothing wrong with the cone.

It almost looks like it had a brush with a hacksaw blade.

Rudolph is not a public domain character so it would be highly unlikely we’d see a red-nosed reindeer in sets anytime soon unless it was licensed

Rudolph, no. But the Rankin-Bass special was mistakenly given copyright of MCLXIV (1164) instead of MCMLXIV, so pretty much every other character besides Rudolph (used under license), and Santa/Mrs Claus/the other eight reindeer (all public domain) is in question. Because it’s owned by a company and not the individual artist, either they immediately forfeited their copyright when it aired with the wrong date, or if the original broadcast date would hold up in court if they tried to sue for copyright infringement.
