City Advent Calendar - Day 9
Posted by MeganL,Yesterday's lamppost was a bit of a disappointment (though a nice build), in that it didn't feel very holiday-like. Maybe we'll find something a bit more fitting with the season behind door number 9.
Yes, this is much better! Today we meet a Christmas caroller - it's harder to get more in the season than that. She's dressed quite warmly in a black jacket and white shirt over her long black skirt. Her first expression looks like she's in the middle of serenading the neighbourhood. I originally thought this head was new - it's been in seven sets before this one.
This is the first dual sided head that we've had for a minifig this year - her alternate face features a bright smile. I love the beauty mark!
That candle is a bit oversized for the minifig, but I'm happy to see it included.

I'd have been very happy if I'd found this behind door number 9. The ice sculpture is a great build, and now I have two of them... Time to contact Lego for missing parts!
The last of a near extinct species
Oh sure, this seemingly-innocent citizen of Lego City looks like she's happily singing carols ... but can anyone else hear the ominous Latin chanting?

A single candle lit, to light the eternal everlasting ice flames of Avernoth...
"Ai Ai Ai Aiiii"
On a serious note, nice figure and I don't have many candles so this is a nice addition.
All she needs is a pitchfork for instant angry mob
Nice Fig, if they gave her Scarf piece, she would be perfect!

Could give her the snowman’s from day one. Not like actually needs it, a snowman really doesn’t want to be keeping warm

Dreadflipper rules again!! He's everywhere.
I like the figure. Don't care for her hair though. I think this is my first candle stick, so I'm pretty happy to receive it even though it's been in all kinds of things in the past.
Here's our Lego Advent devotional video. Hope you enjoy.

Seemingly innocent? This one is even dressed like a penguin! Clearly some sort of acolyte.
She is giving me serious 'overly happy brainwashed cultist' vibes. All she needs is a hood to complete her getup.
Lady Yu got her hair trimmed and colored since yesterday’s review.
Pink seems a weird shade for a “beauty mark”, which, unless faked, is typically a mole. Moles are usually brown. If this isn’t a wart or a skin tag, it feels like it would be a case where someone is applying their own with makeup, but doesn’t understand the history behind the term, and doesn’t like the color brown.

Why does this seem to happen so much with UK copies, but rarely anywhere else?
I just like the facts that the number on the calender have always been the same place
More like a roman candle, or maybe a disguised flamethrower ignited and ready to incinerate any ice effigies of dreaded flppin' lord emperor penguins. Torching it all the while with a song and a smile.
