Of all the renditions of the Millennium Falcon that LEGO has made, I own two of them and they're both on this list. One of them is among the last sets that I bought before my dark age and the other is what got me out of it.
I do wonder what caused an interest in them to get them on this list.

My money is on a Reddit thread.
Appropriate that 40712 should be at the top, considering that the one I ordered from Bricklink came in today.

Well, MILFs are a popular topic in certain sections of Reddit, I'd imagine.
I always look at these weekly lists with interest, but always find myself with more questions. Like why? Is obviously the main question.
@Brickset is their possibly more info that can come with these lists, somehow, that would give an insight as to what has caused the spikes in interest. Imagination running wild, it would be great if we could follow whatever links have caused such interest.
@LegoMike: The answer for sets that aren't new or at least very recent is very frequently a Reddit thread in which the set was referenced.

Go to the Lego subreddit, sort by top this week, and go into the comments of the top couple posts and you'll inevitably find links to any unexplained sets on that week's list. 100% of the time the answer to the question of "why on earth is this so popular??" is reddit.

Thanks for the directions.
I’m pretty narrow on my browsing patterns and have never really spent any time on Reddit pages.
I’ll give a try ;-)
