LEGO has announced another set to be released on the 1st of April, 42196 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica Orange.
This set is a recoloured version of the lime green 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, released last year. Both sets therefore contain 806 pieces and they cost the same as well: £46.99, $49.99 or €52.99.

From a collector point of view the colour choices present a potential nightmare.
But for the younger audience who still thrive on playability I think the colour choices are a brilliant idea
They should perhaps release all choices together though
Thats one weird looking model.
Removing the lambo logo and it's impossible to know what this car is.
This is just what it is. A money grab. And a shame for such a large company as lego is.. Should We prepare for such lazyness in the future? Or did We invest Our time in the wrong company?
I think I'll wait for a blue one...I'm not into green and orange, so 1970's
Man, this is ugly!
The front is so off.
Maybe the car is to small to get the details right..?
Recolors are good for those who didn't like the first color but I don't think we'll ever see color alts release at the same time as that would give buywers more of a choice and this way I'm sure there'll be some which buy both versions.
No matter how many more colors Lego release this set, that thing definitely does not look like a Huracán

If you don't look too closely, the front has a mild resemblance to a Lamborghini, most any modern Lambo. It's clearly not their best effort...
I wonder if there will be the same colour matching issues with orange.
I’m surprised by the great negativity here… well obviously it’s hard to replicate these shapes at this size in technic. I think it’s among the stronger ones in this scale. Definitely flawed but not a complete mess of parts.
imo it should’ve been orange from start, and no recolor. Mainly because the Sian was the same lime color.
Nice surprise to see a changed background on the front of the box

You mean the truth?
I mean, come on! Not only is it yet another flamin' car, it's the same bloody car from last year in a different colour!
At least I can tell it’s a Lamborghini. Much better than the Technic Mustang and McLaren Senna. Those ones are a mess.
Not really a fan of this particular model, but honestly, I'm surprised they don't do this much more often. I mean, they did this weird thing with the Fender guitar where they included a whole bunch of extra pieces to make two variations. Parts most people will likely never use as intended, but do ramp up the price, which in turn might deter some people from buying it. But had they just made that into two separate sets introduced a while apart, I could very well see people buy both. Or entice people that didn't like the initial color to buy it anyway. It's an extra product at absolute minimal development cost.
The big question with this Lamborgini of course is if orange has as many color variations as lime does....

It’s a thing the Lego has been doing for about 3 years now. Starting with the Fiat 500, it has been releasing a few sets in different colours to breathe new life into established sets and maybe attract more sales. There was a recolour with some Creator dinosaurs and the King Parrot as well.
I'd rather they just made Speed Champions versions of these small Technic cars. They just don't look good, especially for such a high price.

Looks like it's bee through a hurricane!

I was aware of that, but still, it's only a handful of sets. And sure, not all sets lend itself for it, I mean, they could recolor boring grey Star Wars sets into, say, bright red, but I doubt that would sell., But especially for car sets it sure would. I mean, I wouldn't mind having a whole collection of SC Countachs in a variation of colors....

With all due respect, this is silly. Offering a small number of sets in competing colors simply gives us fans more choices and ultimately grows the brand. If you’re a completionist, then this is really no different than releasing a different set that simply doesn’t interest you.
Buy it, don’t buy it. It’s not going to affect LEGO for the better or the worse. There are PLENTY of amazing and unique sets out right now. Creator, Technic, City, Icons, Ideas, Friends, Ninjago. They’re all having banner years. And there are so many other exciting unique sets on their way this year!
I like my blue Fiat and pink parrot. Thank you, LEGO.

And this brings me back to my main criticism of sets like this: why the hell do they make them from Technic parts? Even having the audacity of calling such sets "Technic" even though they are clearly aiming to be display sets and have zero Technic functions. (And don't start calling steering a Technic function.)
I'm totally fine with display sets of cars (whether we need to umpteenth version of a random supercar is up for debate of course), but make them from system pieces for crying out loud! Technic doesn't lend itself to creating display sets as that had never been the intention originally anyway.
I like this size of Technic car, bought quite a few. Not got this one but this recolour makes sense if you look at Lamborghini promotional material.
I like the idea of recoloured sets in general and have picked up a few, too. In each case to complement the original.
Personally, I'd like to see the Speed Champions Lambo in purple. That would recreate my favourite Matchbox car from when I was a kid.
I'm really struggling trying to see a Lambo there.
