Love the mech! One minifig is sad but god damn, the design is hot!
Finally threw my man cole a bone. That mech is spectacular, regardless of the figs (or lack therof) Other sets are great too.
Also,is it just me or do the renders seem a bit off?
VERY weak sets. The Dojo price is a joke, even if the build is quite solid.
The most important part is TOXIKITA IS BACK
Cole's mech is badass, maybe bit too white but Lloyd's and Jay's also use a lot of white so I don't mind it at all. Love that there is no unnecessary side-build so the whole budget went into the mech and man does it show.

What are the prices?
Ooh, red and purple Wolf Masks! My two favorite colors! Maybe I'll Bricklink some?
Battle Arena isn't too bad for a €50 set, the vehicle at €90 seems much worse price wise, but seems Ninjago has a trend of big rubber wheel vehicles being mega overpriced :
(2022) 71773: Kai's Golden Dragon Raider - 624 €100
(2023) 71783: Kai's Mech Rider EVO - 312 €45
71811: Arin's Ninja Off-Road Buggy Car - 267 €50
71820: Ninja Team Combo Vehicle - 576 €90
First set is copying s4. Second copies Ultra Sonic Raider. Third is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME I NEED NEED NEED IT NOW
The Ninja Team Combo Vehicle looks very ugly, honestly. I don't know what I was expecting but this is not it. 71739 looked similarly off. It seems like LEGO were never able to properly capture the essence of both 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider and 70595 Ultra Stealth Raider.
On the other hand, the Evangelion Cole mech looks absolutely splendid and if budget allows, I will definitely be picking it up. One minifigure included isn't necessarily a knock against this set, especially because it's exclusive (thought one or two Wolf Mask warriors would have been nice for army-building)
The Tournament Battle Arena should be a day-one buy for me, I really love everything about the set - the centre stage with turntables for battle, and the minifigure selection with Evil Jay is perfect. Tox returning post-WilFilm is also very exciting.
I haven't seen too many people point out the new blade pieces, which are shortened versions of the classic katana element! When they eventually come moulded in silver, they will be perfect for Acronix's and Krux's secondary weapons.

Rumored prices are as follows:
71818 Tournament Battle Arena: $49.99 USD
71820 Ninja Team Combo Vehicle: $89.99 USD
71821 Cole's Titan Dragon Mech: $99.99 USD
To clarify "Toxikita" is a villain from Ultra Agents, "Tox" however, as shown on the box, is the elemental master of poison from Ninjago.
Cole's Mech is one of the best ever. And the tournament set is great, but what on earth is the price for that Combo vehicle?
Are those shorter katanas that cole and sora have on the Ninja Team Combo Vehicle??
I don’t watch the show, why is Jay evil?
I like the Tournament, but the mech and vehicle as just okay.
I don't mind the mech (and the arena looks nice), but I really like the new Wolfpack warriors with the giant red claw weapons over their shoulders. They look awesome.
Hot take: these feel "more of the same", if anything. They are not bad, simply not super innovative in terms of shaping. Tbh the mech's head section looks off, the vehicle is nice but not great compared to previous team vehicles, and the dojo is also kinda okay at best imo. I like the new parts and colors, though.

They're clearly intended to be the same character in different universes, though.

!!SPOILERS!!
After the merge, Jay forgot who he was and got sucked into the "Administration" which is a group of people in suits, who reside in the shadow realm, who oversee the merged realms and makes sure there are no "anominities." That's all we know for now, I am assuming that in season 2 part 2, Jay (not knowing who he is) will be convinced by Ras, on his quest for elemental masters, to fight against the Ninja in the tournament of sources.
Huh, Ninjago suddenly has piqued my interest again! Haven't watched the show since halfway through the first season of Dragons Rising, but what's this? Jay is explicitly evil, woah! Cinder turned into a ghost overnight? The dark blue wolf assassins are purple and use blood (you're not gonna tell me that new trans-red mold doesn't resemble blood) magic now? Or are these fellows something like the inner circle of the wolf cult? Intriguing stuff. And I see Tox is back too, cool!
I'm only getting Cole's Titan Mech which doesn't even come with any of the cool characters, but I think I have some serious catching up to do with the show.
Need the Mech sooooooo bad.....need to make copies as well for the original Ninja. GOD I LOVE MECHS ??????????????
I like 71820 Ninja Team Combo Vehicle but the fact that only about 20% of the track is in contact with the ground makes no sense to me - it is literally neither use nor ornament.
The shape of the track doesn't even help it clear obstacles. Yes, I'm aware its only a toy but there are still toy obstacles to clear.

one reason: Kids will see it on the shelves and think it looks cool.

The rumored $50 doesn’t seem bad for over 650 pieces and 6 minifigs. Especially since 4 are exclusive (for now).

The first set isn't copying. They are doing a new tournament in S2P2 of the show. The car is kinda copying the Ultra Sonic raider and the mech is amazing.
Is the small golden flying dragon piece new? I like it

They're kinda of the same character though, season 4 Tox literally used the Toxikita fig from Ultra agents, Tox is a logical shortening of Toxikita and it's not the first time characters have crossed over original Lego themes (a galaxy squad guy in ultra agents, a power miners guy in Atlantis, Clutch powers in Ninjago)
Render mistake on Cole’s foot in the ninja combo vehicle! Also, I love the new katana piece.
Love the new Ultra Sonic Raider variant, but will probably end up modifying it. Mech looks cool, but I feel this is a mech meant more for display than play.

If you mean the sword for the mech, I think that's a recolor of the blades from the Dune Ornithopter set!
Not having extra minifigs running around it makes the box for 71821 feel really empty

You’re right! I was talking to the handheld mini katana in the other sets, but that is a cool recolor!
That looks like it could be the best mech Lego has made. Articulation-wise, anyway. And before people bemoan the lack of knees, I don't think they're necessary due to the mobility of the hips and ankles. Those two points are far more valuable than knees.
I also... actually kinda like how lacking it is in the minifig department. I find excessive minifigs a bit annoying since they just end up cluttering the shelf. Same with B-models. Love how straightforward this set is. It's a Cole Mech. You get Cole with a Mech.
I spy a stealth homage 4508 Titan XP! Don't believe me? Take a good look at those feet, the shoulders, samurai skirt, general shape and mostly the proportions!
Loving this!
@Kalhiki said: "And before people bemoan the lack of knees, I don't think they're necessary due to the mobility of the hips and ankles"
1. Knees might not be 'necessary' but designers have figured out reliable ways to make them work on 'titan' mechs for a few years now. So why not include them if they're stiff enough to still allow whoever plays with it to not have to fiddle around with the pose too much after playing with it?
2. It has knees! YESSS!!!!! You can see a row of the constraction joint on the knees in alternate images on other sites :D
Plant leaves part 2417 new in Orange. Too bad there's only one in the set.
These Titan Mechs have been killing it!
I am in awe of that Cole mech! Not only does it seem to have knee, elbow, and waist articulation, but it looks like the upper arms and thighs can rotate to allow possibly the most articulation of any Lego mech set (certainly the most articulation for a large mech like this). To be honest I don't mind the lack of additional figs in that set since it has allowed all the detail to be focused into the main subject (and to be honest, if it had other figs it'd probably be figs like Wolf Mask Warriors anyway that'd be both severely outclassed and redundant).
The tournament battle arena set also looks great and surprisingly substantial (with a robust base that has lots of functionality packed in). Love the new look for Tox (previously just a reuse of Toxikita from Ultra Agents), and that new dragon mold is cool as well!
I'm less enthused by the Ninja combo vehicle... it's clearly going for something in the same vein as the Ultra Sonic Raider, but it's far from the most impressive version of that vehicle archetype we've seen. Depending on whether any of the ninja in their tournament outfits are exclusive to that set, I'd potentially be fine skipping that one.

Anyway, those trans red hand pieces will be great for creating Bigby’s spells.

Lego mechs often sacrifice various points of articulation. (Apparently too much articulation doesn’t focus test as well?) That was my line of logic. If articulation needs to be sacrificed, I’d rather see knees go in favor of more mobility in the hips and ankles. Some of the mechs I have with knees still feel just as inarticulate as the ones that don’t.
BUT… I saw the pictures and am over the moon that it does have knees. Insane amounts of articulation, and I love to see it. :D
I literally gasped in surprise when I saw Cole's new mech. That is such a fantastic striking design, and that new sword element is enormous. The white and black to keep it from being too monotonous, gold to unify it, some hints of orange… I wish the wings could fold down but it's lego so that's fixable. And so much articulation on the limbs, it's nuts. I think that's a day one add to my mech collection.

Cole's my favorite, and he doesn't really get too many sets.

You guys have half-convinced me about the mech. Initially, I was disappointed in the white (not Cole, redundant, and definitely not 70632), the lack of shielding for the minifig, and the lack of minifigs.
I also really like that dojo. Figs, sculptural elements, traditional Asian cultural elements, and play features. What more could you want?

The "New sword element" is actually a reuse from 10327: Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter just recolored in gold!

Agreed I doubt I’ll get any of these after the last seasons amazing sets. There really poorly built. Some of the parts are really cool though…
I don't follow the Ninjago animation these days, but do the bad guys always just walk around helplessly to get pounced on by massive good-guy vehicles?
Seems every wave it's just the Ninjago crew getting bases, vehicles, mechs, etc. Bad guys at best get a peripheral mini-build or most likely just some weapons. Where is the threat in that? I remember that the Ninjago line once offered more bad-guy stuff to pose more dignified threats.

Two words (kinda spoiler alert): Blood. Moon.
Someone may correct me, but the “short katana” is a wakizashi/shoto/kodachi. I’m glad to have a LEGO version. Now all I want is an official molded naginata.

The villains usually pose a significant threat in the show from the shear number of them, and also the leaders such as Ras and Cinder, are shown to be much more powerful than the Ninja. From a business perspecitive however *good guy sets sell well* everytime a bad guy set is on the shelves kids aren't going to want to have a big bad guy the good guys have to overcome. they want the good guys to be powerful and defeat the bad guys. It's simply a psychological seed young people have had built into their minds since the beginning of time

The bad guys do typically get a somewhat impressive structure and a creature and/or vehicle build these days. The latter usually serves as a sort of “final boss” for each season of the show. It is a pity that the villains don’t get more sets though. Especially since the show writers often end up creating stuff for them that never ends up in brick form.
Did anyone else notice that in the Combo Vehicle it says Kai instead of Cole?

Even if Toxikita appeared is Ultra Agents, Toxikita is exactly Tox the elemental master of poison from the tournament of elements serie. I have that figure and I consider it as a Ninjago fig, even if it should belong to UA.
So now half the Ninja( plus Wu) have been evil(in minifigure form):Evil Wu from Rebooted, Ice Emperor Zane, Lloyd Possessed by Morro, and now Jay.

I highly recommend it, the show has really picked up from the very mid seasons of 14 and 15. I've seriously enjoyed Dragons Rising so far, it feels like the originals again :)

It's a masterpiece.
