By in Estonia,

Love the plum. It will likely have a place in my house.

The Chrysanthemum set is bananas!

By in United Kingdom,

I do like them and at a good price, but as such I'm struggling to get a handle on their size - I need to see them next to 10289 and 10311 , the orchid and bird of paradise, the other botanicals sets in pots to see if they all fit together in scale.

By in France,

The Chrysanthemum will be mine... but in november, when you actually get real chrysanthemums (and cos it'll be my birthday :D)

Was just about to say the same that I want a size comparrison with the botanicals sets.

Still definitely going to buy both at some point to sit beside my Orchid set.

Excellent. At least 1 of each. Quite tempting to pre-order as small botanicals have a habit of selling out quickly and taking ages to restock.

The measurements are mentioned in this article, so you only need to have, for example, a tape measure to figure that problem out. ;)

By in United Kingdom,

A 'wood-effect plinth'.

It's brown. It's just brown.

I really don't know why anyone at Lego bothers writing these, for 99% of Lego sets you can get everything you need to know from the pictures.

The sets look great though.

That first "lifestyle" picture is nice, but s bit confusing. Is it supposed to be the home of someone who sees books not as something to be interacted with, but just as display stands for their Lego sets?

I wonder who thinks having anything on the stairs is a good idea.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also... Where did they get all the Sand Red bricks to build those stairs!? ;)

By in United States,

I'm not interested in the botanical line, however the part usage and recolors in this line have always been fascinating to see. For these two new sets - I love the design of the planting pots.

To be fair, we have so many books in our house that a good number end up stacked on tables, dressers, the floor, etc. And the stacks will definitely accumulate LEGO on top if left undisturbed for more than a few days. Bottom line, we have too many books and too much LEGO (although really there are no such things).

It's the only place left once you've run out of floor, shelf, cabinet and table space!

But I'm more interested in what's on the step above... some sort of murder weapon?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I actually don't like the Botanical line as sets. They're excellent parts packs, however.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The sets themselves are nice but the descriptions are silly.

Wood effect plinth? It's just brown! I get it's meant to represent wood but what's the effect?

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I like these, but i'm not so sure about the 'wooden' stands underneath the plant.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That was always my favorite crayon, wood effect plinth.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

To fully prove my AFOL credentials, as someone who really doesn't get the popularity of this line, I feel I should claim that Lego only seem to release fake plants now.

But I won't, so carry on.

Might've been a band, too. With their hit single 'LEGO Flower Sets'.

By in Poland,

Given the success of this theme, I really wish LEGO would recolour some of the Technic parts so that stems could be all one colour. Those black pieces for the Chrysanthemum's stems really take away from the rest of it, and there's no reason at all for those pieces not to be made in dark green.

They're supposed to be black, representing bands you would tie the flower stems together if they were real.

Amazing partpacks once again!

I hadn't even realized those were steps; I took them to be some kind of tiered display shelving. Now it's even more confusing!

Gravatar
By in United States,

If it’s yellow, let it mellow.
If it’s wood effect plinth, flush it down.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The "plum blossom" arrangement looks more like a branch of flowering quince to me--but either way, it's lovely. And I'm thrilled with the chrysanthemum. Not quite Day 1 purchases, but I won't be delaying very long, I suspect.

I'm also very pleased with the elegant pots and their "wood-effect" supports. Maybe if they were black those plinths would be called "lacquer effect"?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With the number of stand-alone flower sets there have been to date it would be handy if they also released a selection of addition stand-alone vases (even the ones that have already come in previous Botanical sets).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Now they just need a bamboo to complete the set of Four Gentlemen.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

These sets look fantastic, hard to believe they're the designer's first sets. Its also wonderful to get really nice-looking adult-oriented sets at lower price points

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm definitely getting these when my account has recovered from buying the expensive sets on my list.

Is that supposed to be a hammer ?? or an old dull axe up against the wall on the freaking stairs? Who is the idiot that approved of this hazardous photo. What is Lego doing? ?? A children's toy company pandering to adults with superficial shallow lifestyle photos while promoting bad behavior for adults. Oi gevalt the idiocy.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

One thing weird about the plum blossom is that some of the blooms have 5 fold symmetry whereas the others have 4.

The photographer did very well though, managing to keep the blood covered corpse just out of shot.

That is not a hammer, Not sure what it is.

To be honest, I loved the base and the vase better than the flowers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got a question has anyone notice Lego shrinkflation?
Example Cherry Blossom 40725 was 438 pieces now 430
