LEGO Bluey announced!
Posted by CapnRex101,
The animated series Bluey was launched in 2018 and has developed an amazing following since. LEGO has today announced that DUPLO and 4+ sets based on the beloved series will be released later this year. The press release follows:
Hooray!! The LEGO Group and BBC Studios Announce New BLUEY Partnership
The LEGO Group and BBC Studios have today announced a new partnership merging the globally adored world of Bluey with the fun and creative possibilities of the LEGO universe for the first time ever.
The partnership introduces an exciting collaboration with six new LEGO Bluey sets to appear in 2025 across the LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO themes, inspired by the animated TV series Bluey. Bluey follows a loveable, inexhaustible, Blue Heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo. Bluey uses her limitless energy to play games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways, bringing her family and the whole neighbourhood into her world of fun.
The partnership aims to create equally fun moments of imaginative roleplay and creativity for families as they build, connect and play out their favourite scenes from the show. The six new LEGO Bluey products will be revealed this spring.
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring together the worlds of LEGO Play and Bluey with the team at BBC Studios. It’s been a long time coming and we believe that this partnership is a match made in heaven for younger builders and families alike. Just like the LEGO brand, the Bluey brand has play at the heart of everything they do, which aligns perfectly with the LEGO brand values and mission.” said Michaela Edgerley Stovicek, Head of Preschool at the LEGO Group.
Julie Kekwick, Head of Licensing Hardlines Consumer Products at BBC Studios added: “We’re thrilled to partner with the LEGO Group for Bluey! We believe that LEGO Bluey products will offer families a fantastic new way to engage with beloved characters and stories from the hit animated series, cultivating even more imaginative play inspired by the Heelers”
Following its debut in Australia in 2018, Bluey has gained millions of fans around the world, capturing the hearts of children and parents alike. The Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning animated TV phenomenon airs in over 140 countries, broadcasts in 20 languages and is a global-ratings hit. According to Nielsen, Bluey was the No. 1 most-watched series on streaming in 2024 among total viewers in the U.S., with over 35 billion minutes watched. Bluey also holds the #1 kids show spot on ABC Australia and CBeebies and Disney+ in the UK. Additionally, Bluey is the #1kids show on Disney Jr in Canada, Spain, Portugal, Poland and South Africa.
Cheese and crackers! Keep an eye out for additional information about this exciting collaboration, on www.LEGO.com and www.Bluey.tv.
We will, of course, publish more information and set images once they are available.
What do you think of this news and what do you hope the sets will include? Let us know in the comments.

Intersting!
This should turn out to be the best 4+ theme ever.
I'm sure my 4-year-old daughter will be delighted — even though she's more of a Paw Patrol fanatic ;)
To quote the series, HOORAY!
Much better than Peppa Pig!
Ah BISCUITS!
Across DUPLO and 4+ sets is understandable, but I'm pretty sure there is a market for an Icons series Heeler House at 3000+ pieces.
I just hope that the minifigs would be better than Peppa ones. Stopped me from buying any of the sets.
Ah well - better find some more space (and cash!) when my son sees these...
Batman says, the very very dark age continues.
Eager to see the minifigures.
Not surprised by this news. Bluey seems to be a phenomenon. I’ve seen one episode and it’s funny and cute. I see adults wearing Bluey t-shirts. Disney had just recently announced an agreement with the BBC for the inclusion of Bluey into their theme parks around the world.

I think it's interglamdring.
Aussie Aussie Aussie!!
About bloody time.
Finally an IP that makes sense.
While understandable, I am disappointed there's no 'normal level' sets. The IDEAS Bluey house wouldve been a nice historic Australian home for my city (the back was modern but that can be changed)
Never mind the 4+ sets, I'd be up for an 18+ model!
Bluey is superb- one of the few shows my little girl watches that I'm always happy to sit and watch with her, as opposed to endless, mind numbing YouTube videos!

They really ought to have gotten rid of the yellowy problem firsr. Also, didn’t they change to bluey gray 20 years ago?
I've no interest in it, so as long as it stays in the Duplo and 4+ ranges for the relevant age group it is fine by me. It is not really that different to the Bob the Builder and Little Robots sets they were doing 20-25 years ago.
I guess one difference with Little Robots is that they went for that from the start, releasing sets when the TV show debuted and with Bob the Builder got in after a year or so. Whereas with Bluey they have waited for 5 years before doing sets.
Took them long enough.

That IDEAS model was denied every year for the last three years. I supported four of them (in lieu of my adult sister, who loves Bluey but doesn't do IDEAS) including the one currently under review, and now I'm sad it won't happen. We need something for the adult fans. (and the architecture lovers such as myself. Give me an older house, and I will make it fit into my city!)
Huh, LEGO is expanding its library indeed. I suspect this would be a great fit for Fabuland and Animal Crossing fans.
First response: "OOOH."
Second response: "Hooray!"
Third response: Oh dear, I might end up buying some of these...
...for myself. Because I don't even have kids, but love how cute and wholesome the show is. I didn't expect when I started for my newest favourite TV show to be a literal preschool show, but here we are I guess!
This is the greatest day of my entire life… for real life!
Prior to reading about it on Brickset I had never heard of Bluey at all. Then again my kids were too old for that kind of content in 2018 anyway.
I have since watched a couple of episodes, but I have to admit I much prefer Peppa Pig in that regard.
But it appears to be a generally well loved subject, so for the age group they are targeting this might well become a bestselling theme.

I never understood that criticism. Perhaps it's the German translation that changes the tone completely, but I never got any of those vibes you described when watching episodes of Peppa Pig with our kids. Even my wife enjoys the show.
Wouldn't be the first time either that the German version of a show is entirely different in tone from the original. The Persuaders being a prime example. Star Trek TOS another.

I concur fellow young person. Sometimes da boomers gotta pay the fannum tax. Besides, it's all Ohio anyways.
my kids are going to be so excited about this!
I'm really curious to see what the figures look like for the 4+ sets. I'm thinking maybe Minion bodies with new custom molded heads?
My kids are 7 and 13, and even though the oldest is a bit of the demographic target audience, Bluey is a show we watch together as a family, laugh our a.. off together, spend countless hours speaking about the themes of the episodes, relating them to their life and copying the games they play.
I love this show. Really hope Lego makes the ideas bluey house.

AFOL's rush out on day one of release and do their AFOL thing...thousands of preschoolers everywhere sad because all the Bluey set got snatched up by the grown-ups...
Amazing news!!!
This theme is going to make TLG boatloads of cash. Here’s hoping for more models in the future, too. I imagine that something like a large brick-built Bluey or the Heeler house would do extremely well.
I have been waiting for this news for a while. I really hope that they release a large scale Bluey house like the Ideas set.
Bluey for Duplo target age (2-3) is just as dumb as Peppa Pig was. The show is clearly targeted at kids aged 5-7. At least they are making mostly 4+ sets this time.
The Codex Astartes does not support this action. But I am looking forward to it.

I actually read about a LEGO Bluey theme coming a couple of weeks ago on a blog that usually has very good inside info on upcoming sets. It was the same blog that had the first info on the upcoming UCS Jango Fett Slave 1 (75409) that will come on May 4th, as well as the UCS/Icons Enterprise-D (10356) scheduled in the fall. One news item I have a hard time believing though is a supposedly upcoming Simpsons Krusty Burger set.

In the UK peppa pig is constantly rude to people, acting like a total spoiled brat.
There is a long running trend of someone thinking that is what kids like.
Add in the fact she is a cannibal (a pig eating bacon!) and doesnt wear seatbelts, the entire show is awful
Really interested to see what comes for this. I have personally never seen the show. And I don't have kids, but I do think it would end up with some neat sets. Even if they are 4+, for the target audience.

I have seen at least 100 episodes and can't recall a single one where they eat bacon.
Definitely quite different over here, because Peppa is also not presented as a brat.
And they don't wear seatbelts because their car doesn't have any. Apart from that, ever noticed how unrealistic their car is anyway? Or the incline on the way to their house? Or almost anything else in their world?
The reason being that everything looks like it was drawn by a kid in kindergarten. Which apparently is also the kind of person the show is aimed at. Makes kind of sense to me.
Following its debut in Australia in 2018, Bluey has gained millions of fans around the world, capturing the hearts of children and parents alike (and Dogs).
Bluey is great for Dogs to watch. They can see colors, That the show uses.. like 3-5
Show is like best for Dogs, besides animal or dog networks/shows...
Might be a good ideal keep lego away from dogs
I'm not sure if this has been said before but I'm expecting the minifigs to be similar to the ones they made for the minions just based on the character designs in the actual show. They could use that same minion body mold and make 1 or 2 head molds for Bluey and her whole family, in addition to other specialty ones for specific characters. I'd be genuinely shocked if they took an Animal Crossing or Simpsons approach i.e. custom molded heads on standard minifig bodies.
Either way as a teacher who watches Bluey with her kids in class nearly every day during snack time me and my whole class are beyond excited.
I wouldn't characterize myself as a Bluey fan, but on a few occasions I've walked into a room where it was playing and I've generally liked what I saw.
Hooray! Dance mode activated!
I have no familiarity with the show, but just2good said that there'll be a polybag/paper bag set. I'll probably pick that one up. Wouldn't be the first time a single polybag was my entire collection of a line.

This comment is just as dumb; just tell us you know nothing about kids. My two year old loves Bluey. And even though both my kids have access to my 600k piece collection, they both still play with the Duplo we have too.
I am absolutely sure that the show was done for parents. If kids love it, that is only a side-effect. :)
It captures the parenthood so much!
My sorrow is that this sounds like an excuse to make more Duplo animals. There already are far too many more animals in Duplo than in regular Lego; as a collector of only Lego (and occasionly the less cutesly Friends) animals it frustrates me every time I see the Duplo animal packs like the "Wild Animals Of" sequence.
My boy is gonna love the 4+ sets. So will my partner tbh. At four years old he is already costing me a fortune with with Star Wars and Spidey!

Compared to those themes (from when my kids were ... well, kids), the popularity has been established, and ongoing streaming services means the shows remain 'current' for much longer than Little Robots or Bob did back in the day.
