Creator 3-in-1 has really impressed lately and its next set, 31172 Record Player with Flowers, has been revealed today.

The set contains 366 pieces and will be released on the 1st of March, costing £24.99, $29.99 or €29.99. The primary model is a record player, which can be reassembled as either a radio or a microphone, each with floral decoration.

Is that medium light blue, same as used on that one Harry Potter patronus set? If so I needed this set months ago, ive just finished a moc using tons of that colour. 3 patronuses have been scrapped for parts to create it!

First a typewriter, now a record player with flowers growing out of them.
Weird.
Let's hope it's a Crossley player and not a proper one. For a Crossley it's probably best if it's used as a flower vase ;-)

I don't get this obsession with flowers either....I do quite like the record player and it seems to have a few neat details, in that regard it reminds me a lot of the camera from last year. But the flowers add absolutely nothing to that, except for ramping up the piece count and price.

40699 Now that is a record player.

I can definitely hear Scott McKenzie on that record player. And there seems to be a distinct aroma of joss sticks for some reason!

Totally ridiculous as this and the typewriter are I'm finding myself strangely drawn towards getting them. Can't wait to see what comes next in the 'series'!

The real set we need next is a Lego trash can with dead flowers in it.

I'd buy that!!

I don't think we're the primary demographic. But I think it's cute (not sure about the microphone though). My wife (who appreciates Lego, but doesn't have the desire to build it) would love the record player or radio on her desk. And the typewriter, and the watering can. And maybe the roller skate (but there's no flowers and it's not _quite_ the same vibe).

Especially if she sees it as a unified 'pastel desk flowery thing' theme.

Daft.

The microphone alt build is so sad it made me laugh.

Darn it Lego! My retro tech shelf is already overflowing! At least this will be easier to get a hold of than 40699. (Incidentally, according to the Bricklink portion of the sidebar, 40699 is currently cheaper to buy new than used.)

The microphone looks like a bust of a hopeful robot

anybody know when this is set to be released?

Looks like this has some interesting new radius five round bricks.

It probably has a better tracking force than a Crossley player. ;-)

Enough with the flowers stuck on mechanical items already. The watering can made sense since people do put flowers in them in real life. The typewriter & this record player just look silly with flowers sticking out of them. Of course if either one gets a decent price reduction I'll most likely buy them for the parts.

These Creator sets with flowers are starting to look like they belong to some “life after people” post apocalyptic wasteland where everything is overgrown.

Name me a more iconic duo than Record Players and, er … Flowers?!?

I do want the set, and think it looks good, but I can't really argue with that.

By in Australia,

I really loved the watering can and ukulele, last year (particularly the ukulele. It made for such a lovely display piece, even outside of it's tangential connection to the rest of the Botanicals, but I'll admit, one of the main reasons I purchased it was for the hibiscus flowers).

And the typewriter was one of my first 2025 sets. I liked it because it was colourful and whimsical.

But I don't know, I think the record player is just pushing it a little bit too far.

I'd guess the flowers being so integrated into Creator sets is to entice the Botanical fans into being more general Lego fans (the same way many who grew up on SW or Space or Knights were cultivated into general Lego afols), along with being more unique items to complement Botanical collections pure flower representations.

Also, being Creator, it's possible that the flowers are present to add unique bricks and encourage rebuilding into MOCs or lightly customizing the model yourself.

It is a definite no from me. When I had a record player, I never though it could be enhanced by putting flowers in it.

I enhanced ours by giving my sister's trolls rides on it!

I'm having Toy Story 2 flashbacks.

Honestly, if they got the mechanism right, I just might buy that.

The Trolls didn't.... but it was only around 1965!

Not that I'm gonna get it, but it's a beautiful set none the less. All three builds look really nice.

By in Ukraine,

I don't care what everyone says, I just love this little set. The record player is well-built and sturdy, the flowers are a nice addition and the other models are great as well. I'm also happy to see TLG start a new trend of (retro?) household items (mostly complete with flowers :) ) like 31149 , 31156 , 31169 and the just-revealed 31172 . They would be a great addition to my 31147 !
