By in United States,

I don't remember a Hippo Tribe in Chima...

By in New Zealand,

Never mind Clikits, Fabuland seems to be Huwobt's new favourite!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I guess Huwbot is excited about 40506.

By in United States,

Oh no, I retracted my statements about Fabuland being evil, and now they've taken over Huwbot!

Diabolic Cretans! Horrendous Monsters! Freaks and Neerdowells! Be gone I say! Back from wence you came you Ravenous Beasts!

I forget who, but someone once made a very compelling argument that Fabuland comes after Chima, where -- instead of relentless war -- the ruling class of carnivores made the decision to forget the Chi crystals and just build a society with themselves in positions of power, with the lowly herbivores unaware of what's really going on around them.

I mean, isn't the mayor of Fabuland a lion? Red flag, right there.

Also what I was thinking.
Maybe Huwbot is suggesting to TLG that they left out an important figure from 40506 !

By in United States,

Does fabuland have lore? Like, do the characters have personalities and stories?

@Zordboy:
Animal Crossing, then Fabuland, then Chima. And curiously, hippos kill more humans every year than sharks do. Something about having a mouth the size of a lawn chair, four razor sharp shortswords for teeth, and an incredibly short temper.

By in Turkey,

Back to back Fabuland... This is fabulous, and what a lovely little set it is.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@PurpleDave: Well, yeah...plus, ironically enough; a lot of those hippo deaths are water related. People underestimate how fast hippos MOVE in water, and they're downright agile in there too.

As to the set; it's not bad, a I juuuust realized: Fabuland figures look less creepy than Funko Pops. I think it has to do with the fact that FL figs have the 'light dot' on their eyes, and FPs don't...:|

Absolutely Fabuland has lore. But the lore published by Lego is all a pack of lies. With a little careful observation, the whole terrifying truth of Fabuland lore comes tumbling out. For example:

By in United States,

This is one of the more bucolic-looking Fabuland sets.

But look deeper. Hannah Hippo is pictured supine in a box, clutching a bouquet of white posies, her lifeless eyes masked. She is accompanied by several special objects which were meaningful to her in life.

Did Hannah perish of natural causes?

Or was she released from the community involuntarily? And her ample meat carefully removed and roasted? And the rest of her stuffed and returned to her grieving relatives for burial, with a cover story about a tragic malfunction of an amusement park ride? All so hippopotamus brisket continues to be a delicacy at the Fabuland café?

A double dose of Fabuland? Triple if you include the review of the tribute set. Huwbot is in a mood of some kind, clearly!

Gravatar

I can assure you that Huwbot is picking the sets totally randomly, he has not been rigged!

What about the omnivores of Fabuland?"

What about Chima being a Ninjago realm? Doesn't that mean the Fabuland world is some part of the Merged Realms post-DR?

Gravatar

Coincidence? I think NOT!

That’s exactly what someone who’d rigged Huwbot would say…

Gravatar

I love that the flower stand is just two bricks and a plate. There's something to be said for simplicity.

There were tie-in Ladybird books with stories about the characters, as I recall.
