Just ordered :o) Thanks

By in United Kingdom,

It's a shame you can't just buy it with your points. Having to make a purchase too is annoying.

Agreed--the stuff on my current wishlist is non-exclusive and no rush so I was hoping to pick it up for -not- full price some time...

If they let you order Insiders rewards multiple times, I could order three of it. But then, I've been hoarding my points ever since the results of that competition were announced.

No backlog of unopened sets waiting to register?

If $16.50 is intended to be USD, I don't think it's quite the right number. The "Create your discount" dialog you can access from your cart suggests 650 points get you a $5.00 discount, so I think this 2,250 reward is equivalent to about $17.31.

By in New Zealand,

Very cute. I might have to get to this one. Honestly one of the best Insiders rewards ever.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There were plenty of things I already wanted from my wish list, and promo items often push me to get them. Looking forward to getting my order at home now! Thanks for the heads up :)

Right you are, thanks. I cannot access the 'create your discount' slider for countries outside the UK, so made a quick estimate based on adding sets to my cart on the US website.

Just ordered mine. It cost me fifty dollars, but I'm getting a free 76311 with it!

Got my code, but I'm really starting to wish they'd make one of these for OG Blacktron.

I don't think it's meant to be evocative of that specific set, but rather the entire range of classic space ground bases. This set is sort of a mini mashup of 6990 (monorail and its color scheme) with the mostly blue and trans yellow space bases like the ones you mention plus 6970 & 6971, and maybe some of 6930.

By in United States,

I need to get one of these! I guess I can buy another Renegade.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I wanted this but I can hardly justify a price of $22.50 for that (in Canada, each point is exactly 1 cent). The original model was neat with real tracks. This model spends 80 pieces (37%) for the track alone - and the 'train' will most likely derail when pushed underneath the base. On top of this, stickers on slopes will definitely not age well. I know people complains when it is a GWP but I usually prefer that. Ah well, I have plenty of space babies, I'll just wait for the next Lego promotion I guess.

Not available on the NZ website, sold out already?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just ordered mine with 42201 . So glad they didn't release this at the same time as the Moon Car so I can spread out my buying a little bit!

I'm surprised that this is fewer points than Barracuda Seas with more pieces and custom packaging.

If you get most of your points during double points periods, then it's only $8.66.

I will likely need a drop or two to complete the purchase. That GWP has me securely
on the fence. It's good, but not great. The lack of minifigs for both sets is quite discouraging.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I dislike the fact you could only add one insiders redeem to your order. We have already spend the money to earn those insiderspoint to purchase these redeem sets.
Most of us are already regulary lego buyers and spend a lot of money on sets .

Yeah, Classic Space Stickers.
Thanks, I'll pass...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I’ll be buying this on eBay, as I did with 40712

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I want this muchly but have no insiders points at the moment so.. I guess eBay here I come

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Fortunately, I had sufficient points to get this set. If I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have resorted to Ebay. The current sold price there including P&P is £42. I love CS as much as anyone but it’s not worth that much or anything near that.

I got 40712 on Bricklink, but since this isn't a GWP, the only threshold I needed to hit to get it was the one for free shipping.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I should have been checking here to see when it finally went up, but it’s still available luckily. Best of all, May the 4th is within 60 days so I ought to be set.

Popular Insider Rewards seem to be pretty well stocked (and re-stocked) e.g. the Micro Ninjago Cities. Not normally quite the mad rush of GWPs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would prefer proper reboots of the classic space sets, but admittedly I do like this one a lot more than the previous micro space offering.

That's pretty cool! I like how it also uses an embiggened 40712 and the MMU from 71046."

Thanks! ;~)
I enlarged 40712 a year ago (https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/197815-mod-embiggened-micro-rocket-launchpad-for-minifigs/ ). I added builds from it to 40786 partly to make the Command Centre look more like a vignette and partly so that the tram had somewhere to go rather than going pointlessly in circles.
You’re quite right about 71046. I gave it the CS treatment by replacing the minifigure and some of the parts: the white cheese slopes are plain with no printing, and the yellow and blue lights are plates, not tiles.
