By in Switzerland,

Tintin if it gets approved; and perhaps the prize machine.
All the rest is an easy pass.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Being originally from Belgium I need LEGO to approve that TinTin rocket and make a TinTin minifig! :)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Only thing I like it is Minerals and only because it can have some amazing pieces recolors.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Probably the Prize Machine and the Minerals (depending on the finished results).

Looking at the original River Steamboat submission does emphasise how much better it looked a bit longer. Still good, but more of a Tugboat now!

Gravatar
By in Spain,

This one is a hard list for my wallet:
- Minifigure prize machine;
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (maybe);
- Italian Riviera;
- Minerals (maybe);
- Sea otter (maybe);
- Snoopy (maybe);
- Moon car; and
- Love birds.

By in Poland,

I'm interested in Intalian Riviera! And I'm really curious to see the final Goonies project. It might be awesome, it might be disappointing, it might be way too expensive. The minerals seems very promising, especially for non afols.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Waiting for the prize machine and the moon car.
The latter might be a gwp or insider reward like the micro moon command base.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm excited to see what new knight faction comes with the prize machine! (Personally I want the Griffin Knights to win, but it seems like the public opinion is heavily locked on the Kraken Knights) I just hope their torsos will be on Pick-A-Brick Bestseller...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'd missed the Snoopy one, don't know how that happened. And speaking of pets from comic strips, wasn't there a Garfield project that got approved, too? Anyway, the ones I'm looking forward to are Luxo Jr. (being the huge Pixar fan that I am), and the Prize Machine (especially since it'll have a new color of Classic Spaceman and a new Castle faction).

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Definitely excited for the Minifig Prize Machine. Hope they go all in on rare/unique fig parts!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey you guys!

Ruth. Baby Ruth!

Goonies. Goonies! Goonies!!!!

And Minifigure Prize Machine, and maybe Gizmo too. Charlie and Chocolate Factory and Luxo Jr are possibilites too.

But Goonies!!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just the minerals for me.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Maybe the minerals but, it is not because all are bad projects.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pending final looks, the prize machine, luxo, and the minerals are the only ones I’m eyeing. Hoping the X-files submission wins for the first 90’s competition.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That Italian Riviera is *Italian chef's kiss*

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The Moon Car would be the only one I actually want, but I bet that's gonna be a GWP again?

Other than that, some decent sets (assuming the Lego designers don't screw them up), but none that I actually want.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Goonies.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm with most here: Tintin, prize machine, Minerals, and moon car. Mostly in that order. The others will depend on their styling.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am interested in the Snoopy and kind of interested in the Minerals. The Minerals one looks cool and I love the colors.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

I think early on in the competition i had my eye on Pixar Luxo Jr. as i thought the technicality of the pieces were interesting enough but Charlie and the Chocolate factory definitely caught my eye, but the Tintin rocket is definitely on my radar!

Although, this time next year i might already be wallet-worn to purchase these straightaway after Lego Pokémon sets (and this summer I'll be done hard with One Piece.. XO)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Apparently the term used for sets like Tintin undergoing extended review is "The Parking Lot."

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Huw What about the Autumn Snails GWP by Jagamax, I think approved last year? I was really looking forward to that one, I'm hoping it matches in scale to the Insect Collection.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Minifigure prize machine, Luxo Jr., Sea Otter, Goonies

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really looking forward to seeing what the designers do with Goonies. That’ll determine my excitement level.

Yeah and if they are basic pieces like transparent bricks, could even re-appear in a pack like this 11040 Magical Transparent Box / 11013 Creative Transparent Bricks

By in New Zealand,

I do quite like the Italian Riviera and the Minerals display.

The Moon Car will be an Insiders reward, like 40786.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Luxo Jr. could be just a crumbly sticker on a tile, and I'd still buy it. Prize Machine will have a new Classic Spaceman, so that's also a must. I can wait for OPAB to stock the Minerals parts. I've already built, and redesigned, a minifig-scale WWI Snoopy on top of his doghouse, so I may pass on that one unless it looks simply amazing. Likewise, I can't commit to either of the 80's projects without seeing the final model first. Probably grabbing the Moon Car, though, especially since it's free.

@TheOtherMike:
Snoopy was just confirmed yesterday. No front page photo, though, since people don't like having the results spoiled before they click through to the article.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Italian riviera is the one I’m most interested in seeing & the minifigs in the prize machine. For the rest, waiting to see how the final model looks - I wasn’t interested in the insects until I saw the finished product.

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Can’t wait for the Italian riviera.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m a sucker for any wooden boat. So Goonies for me!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I was wondering what was in the pipeline after yesterday's announcement. Of those, I'd say Goonies would be first for me, possibly followed by the minifigures prize machine.

Ah yes, makes sense. Unfortunately, that's kinda the same thing, pretty hard to get unless you buy a lot directly from Lego....and as much as I like it, I don't like it THAT much....

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Italian Riviera the only set that interests me, hopefully they keep the sand green fish.

Gravatar
By in Mexico,

I 'm eagerly awaiting the Minerals set, and depending on how it turns out I might have to gift the Snoopy to a certain family member.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

>Which ones are you most looking forward to getting hold of?

Let's wait for final product and pricing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Minifig prize machine is the only one I definitely plan to buy of the ones listed. The Minerals are a maybe. The rest are hard passes. So many uninteresting sets selected, and so many great ones rejected...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Snoopy and Luxo Jr. The others aren't for me. Never seen the Goonies.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Where's the poll?
The Pixar lamp for me, and maybe the Italian Riviera.
Really disappointed Bob's Tug Boat didn't make it in the last round.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Huw,
Is there a tag one could search for that will provide a listing of everything currently “pending”, much like what this article provides?

I hope you’re doing well!

They are not in the database yet so no, not if that's what you meant.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll see how Goonies and Gizmo, turn out. Otherwise, they all miss the mark for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The moon car looks quite tempting.

Is it just me, or does the Autumn snails project look like something from the DreamWorks movie "Epic"?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I'll wait until we see the final products, but I am at least curious how the minerals will turn out. Probably the only one I might consider buying other than Tintin.

Yeah, that's always the trick, isn't it? While I'm not one of those people who's always claiming that the original was better, the fact of the matter is that they do change them. Just for one example, take a look at 21109 next to Pete Reid's original submission: https://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/29w5q7/exo_suit_side_by_side_original_submission_vs/?rdt=33097 Of course, they sort of *had* to change that one, as the original not only used pieces that Lego doesn't make any more, but a bunch of illegal techniques. (I've heard that the original was actually pretty fragile.)

To be fair, the final product is still quite fiddly and fragile. Maybe better in that regard than the original submission, but still not really enjoyable to build and pose. I only bought it for the green Classic Spaceman minifigs tbh, which at least nowadays we can complete thanks to the proper helmet finally being available.

Part of the reason that's the case is, at least in one instance, because they were using the _original_ mold that was created for Classic Space, and it had simply worn out to the point that it really should have been replaced before that set was produced. I believe I ended up sticking a 3L bar through the offending space arms to give them more clutch. But yeah, I build the model, and stuck it on a shelf. And I've got the parts from two other opened sets that I intended to play with and see if I could come up with something better. Life intervened, and I never really got started on that.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@AustinPowers: When I say fiddly, I'm thinking of a phrase I saw on New Elementary (https://www.newelementary.com/2014/04/cuusoo-exo-suit-logo.html): "Self-ejecting feet." Even with the issue @PurpleDave brings up, the final model wasn't anywhere near *that* fiddly. Speaking of which, @PurpleDave: Weirdly enough, I never had any trouble with the robot arms on the legs of either of my copies, but I did have to cut a three-long section of flex tube in half to hold the ones on the shoulders in place.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@TheOtherMike:
I don’t remember which locations I had to pin down, just that I had to do it to some (I can check when I get home). But the stud connection was the main problem, and they attach to different parts on the shoulders and knees, which could impact clutch strength.

Gravatar
By in France,

Tintin will be a must-buy for me if it's approved too! :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

I forgot about most of those, so thanks for the recap.

I'll likely get Goonies since I am of the age that would appreciate that. Choco factory is a maybe also due to nostalgia. I'd want the minifigure machine only because of new prints, so will depend on price and how badly I want them if I can't get them separately for a good price.

Come to think of it yeah. The ones on the shoulders are attached to https://brickset.com/parts/4632575/lamp-holder and the ones on the legs are attached to https://brickset.com/parts/4640844/%C3%B83-2-shaft-w-cored-knob I'd never really thought of it, but that could affect something.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@TheOtherMike:
Right, I was supposed to take a look at mine once I got home. Um, looks like I pinned all four sets, also with flex tube, but cut to about 2.5 studs. Specifically, I cut the flex tube to exactly fit the full width.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Minerals as well for me - a surprisingly compatible subject matter for the LEGO medium! Hopefully the final product is largely unchanged.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Considering the LEGO Ideas designers butcher the submissions 9 out of 10 times, I'm no longer waiting for any Ideas set.
When they eventually come out I see how much LEGO ruined the design and, in the slim chance they didn't completely butcher the set, I'll get it. No point in getting excited for Ideas products considering LEGO's track record in the last few years.
