We need more desirable GWPs. Most people aren't going to be tempted into a purchase by this any more than another GWP.

Isn’t this just a parts pack with an added base

But the mere fact they have made these a series will tempt the completists (of which I am, unfortunately, one)

But surely even the most complete completionist will get bored of all the endless series of GWPs and Insiders sets?

Ermmm...nope but nice concept.......

The fish ruin this for me. If they'd used the actual fish pieces I might be tempted, but the pieces don't really work. 910040 does a much better job of underwear coral reefs, as difficult as it is to see under the building.

I didn't relize they were fish. just looked messy to me.

By in United States,

I can see this as being fun to build an aquarium around, but as a stand alone item it's not catching my attention. There's a bit of an interesting parts pack here I think, quite possibly. If I follow my aquarium idea, then it becomes a centerpiece of a Bricks and Pieces order. Otherwise just a nice, "Oh, what have we here?" happy accident if you already were planning an order that hits the price threshold.

Nice concept, bad execution.

No, this is fine. Just something that's nice to get if you're planning to buy LEGO (full price) anyway, but not something most folks *need* so bad they have to make an expensive purchase for it at a random point in the year. Sure, 'nicer' GWPs are better if you're going to spend that money anyway, but I think it's a good strategy to only have a few 'desirable' GWPs throughout the year, around the time they release really remarkable sets. I also think the majority of customers probably aren't even aware of GWPs, so anything 'free' is a nice addition to them.

Wasn't aiming on getting this, but with double points for 31215 and my 40786 Insiders Reward about to expire, what the heck!

I'm in the same boat with 40786 . Unfortunately, my reward will expire before the May 1 Star Wars promo.

So this GWP will lessen the blow just a little for having to buy something this month.

My 60 days would have expired on 2nd May but I don't want any of the Star Wars GWPs. I was hoping 40763 would have been available in time, but only in Japan!

I'm going to go against the grain and say not using the standard fish piece was a good idea. I've always felt like it looked like a *dead* fish and didn't look right in contexts where it was supposed to be swimming around.

By in Canada,

But of course this ends before May 1st so as not to stack with Start Wars purchases...even the day before so there is no potential overlap depending on time zone issues. Ahhh the marketing creed..."buy often and buy more"

It’s the fact that the mouth is a recessed stud. It looks like how the mouth flares open when someone has their fingers hooked into the gill slit. But I have seen fish do that while still alive, too. Mostly it’s when they’re feeding, but sometimes they just do it like they’re yawning.

I’ve only used them a few times. One is the S2 Fisherman driving a rusty truck with his pole and fish in the bed. And the other is birds flying over water with fish clutched in their feet. So “looks dead” isn’t actually a bad fit for my purposes.

Honestly, I don't really understand waiting on Insiders rewards. If there's one I really want, then as soon as it's available I place an order just large enough to clear the free shipping threshold to get it with. My 40786 is just waiting to be built.

I don't wait on Insiders Rewards - I wait on nice GWPs. It was just unfortunate that the GWPs since 40786 was released have been a bit rubbish!
I always have a backlog of orders I'm waiting to place that aren't available cheaper elsewhere, but I like there to be a nice GWP available when I order. Insider Rewards just fit in where they can.

I was a completist with Houses of the World, and got the first one of this series, but don’t like this much, so not interested and will sell the first one now!

Yes, I did think they were a bit cynical labeling the Houses of the World 1 to 4... At least they didn't do that with the Shops or Wonders of the Natural World!

Ah. I've pretty much stopped placing orders large enough to qualify for this kind of GWP, but I get you now.

I am loving these GWP series they have done the last few years. Really liked the Houses of the World and Shops and now these Natural Wonders are great. Nice micro-scale style builds which I enjoy a lot.

By in United States,

Got mine on order! I just happened to be working up an order on OPAB that easily netted me a copy, but I was expecting to be able to place the order Monday. When it didn't show up, I was wondering if I'd have to wait until after the May 4th dust settled.

I too wanted the bear...I wonder why EU/NA didn't get it. When is 'Children's Day' anyway?

It's 5th May in Japan, 18th May in the UK, 8th June in the USA and 22nd October in Australia so still a chance!

Did you spend the insider points for 40786 immediately when it became available or something? Why not wait until the time when you're actually placing the order with which you'll get it?

Looks like this diorama will pass me by. It's fine and would get me some parts I don't yet have, but it's far from a must have, and the sale section on lego.com is extremely underwhelming right now. And the full price sets can wait until a better GWP.

Yes... I'd foolishly believed the hype that 40786 would sell out quickly. In retrospect there was no rush as it's still available!

@TheNameWasTaken:
Some Rewards don’t last very long. I prioritized the Chronometer over the Orange Vs White Battle Pack, and when I went to grab a code for the latter, it was out of stock (and if you remember the last couple coins and the Ulysses space probe, those were gone in under 30 minutes each). Thankfully, when I went to grab the microscale Classic Space set, I discovered that I had actually grabbed a code for OvW shortly after redeeming for the Chronometer, so I’m now all caught up, and didn’t miss any of them.
