Ninjago minifigures renumbered
Posted by Huw,
There are now almost 1,000 different Ninjago minifigs listed at BrickLink which has necessitated that the database admins there renumber them with four-digit numbers instead of three. njo001 will become njo0001 and so on.
We've just imported the new data from BrickLink and altered the related information in our internal tables. Hopefully everything looks as it should do, although you may need to use the 'Update your collection' link on the My Sets page if you were using the site while the data was changed and your Ninjago figures are missing.

Who would have thought all those years ago that ninjago would have gone on to be such an enduring theme!
If only Pharoahs quest and monster hunters could have done the same!
Cool thanks for the heads up! Ninjago figures are IMO some of the best and most unique lego has to offer. Maybe Monkie kid would be the only other close contender?
Would be interested to see the breakdown of that 1000. How many good/bad guys. How many iteration of each ninja etc. If anyone fancies making a handy pie chart.
This whole system is still a mess sadly. Some figs are not minifigs but are count as ones.
We need a propper terms used like buildfig and bigfig separated.
It's been going for... FOURTEEN YEARS!? The tenth anniversary feels like yesterday and we're already nearing another half decade!?
Ahem. Anyway, I find it surprising that we're only at the 1000 mark now. Still cool to see this happen though.
And I have 13 percent of them, according to my graphs.
That's about 870 too few minifigures.
Makes sense.
Will they ever get over 9000?
Congrats, Ninjago!
And I bet Friends is catching up soon!

Ooo that sounds far more interesting then what I’m currently building reports on (data quality on site inventory) i might have to knock something up with a beer later on Ninjago minions!

Considering how Ninjago has overlapped with themes like Pirates and Castle, maybe we’ll get some kind of Egypt/Halloween overlap in the future? We’ve already had a bit of the former…
Characters with the most minifigs:
77 Lloyd Garmadon
71 Kai
70 Zane
69 Jay Walker
61 Cole
52 Nya
25 Wu
11 Garmadon

If nobody has done it by the weekend,
and if I have time,
I could have a look in to it.
Though it is May 4th Weekend, so might have to wait until the next one

I made it a haiku.
For a moment (until I actually read the headline), I thought a second RMotD article had posted. Speaking of that feature, this'll be another bunch of missing images. Seriously, if you go through the archives of that feature, every Super Heroes figure article from before that renumbering no longer has a picture, because the article is trying to pull up an image from a page that on longer exists.

Friends already has more than eight hundred, so the day isn't far off.

How many characters have only one fig? I know I got Ham in a bulk buy and kept him since he's unique to that set, but I wonder how many others are out there.

So the elemental power of green is…money? Makes sense. At least it does in the US.
@560heliport:
Traditional format is 5-7-5, but freeform haiku just needs to be three lines. You know, for people who can’t bother to put the effort in. And if you want to do it authentically, you’d need to add a “cutting word” (no English equivalent, so you’d have to write it in Japanese) and a seasonal reference.
The fact that Ninjago was meant to end after three years and get replaced by Chima is crazy when you think about it now.

Not done any time soon
Lost in minifig data

Bionicle getting replaced by Hero Factory, then Hero Factory getting replaced by Bionicle would be funnier if Bionicle G2 had lasted for more than two years.
I don't get why Ninjago is such an enduring theme. I have the 5 large modulars but that is it.

They tossed everything fun and toyetic into a blender and it never stopped printing money. Dragons, mechs, motorcycles, cars, etc. There’s basically something for everyone.
Now it’s at an age where adults who grew up with it are nostalgic for it. Hence the pricey modular blocks and display pieces.
Not to mention the people who hyper fixate on their favorite characters. Surely somebody out there buys every single set with a Zane minifigure just because they love him that much.

It was accompanied by a show that was good enough to appeal to adults, as well as kids. It scratched the Ninja itch, for those of us who remembered the old Castle subtheme. And it got a bunch of people to launch a campaign to bring it back after the first time it was cancelled (because oh yes, it was cancelled twice), so there’s a personal investment angle that they didn’t immediately ruin by running an episode titled Zane’s Brain (I assume).

If you're referring to what I think you're referring to, then I just have to ask, "Brain and brain! What is brain?!"

Zane's brain controls.

what do you mean cancelled twice? i wasnt aware of any cancellations ousitde of the 2012/2013 one
@Billbuilds:
All I know is they planned it for a 3-year run, fan pressure caused them to keep it going, and that it did get cancelled at least one other time. I don’t know when, why, how long the cancellation lasted, or what made them decide to revive it a second time.
What’s the minifig in the article?

Not sure where you got the idea of it getting cancelled a second time — LEGO had already declared it evergreen by the time of their 2015 annual report, and it's consistently gotten new sets and new episodes of the animated series every year since.
It HAS had three separate animated series, though: "LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu" from 2005 to 2019, "LEGO Ninjago" from 2019 to 2022, and "LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising" from 2023 onward. Maybe you heard something about when one of those animated series ended and mistook it for the theme being cancelled?

Do you mean 2015 to 2019? (I've never watched the any of the shows, only the movie, so really know nothing about them, but considering that the sets were first released in 2011, I'm pretty sure there was a typo there.)
I thought that said “remembered”

technically 5-7-5, yes, but it also needs a word about nature (usually about the seasons) to be a haiku.
otherwise it's just senryu (won't display the correct characters)
