By in New Zealand,

Dunno how any of those are gonna haul an entire highway.

Ooh, matching rollerskates.

I really miss what ten bucks could get you in the 2000s.

Pretty dang neat, looks like good value especially as a 6 in 1 instead of the normal 3. The closest modern contemporary is probably 31146 . That or 31113 , though that's not in production nowadays.

Every vehicle excellent.
All for $10 back in the day ;)

I had this set as a kid (still have the parts) and I honestly loved it. A bunch of big, chunky trucks? So cool.

By in United States,

6-12 is 4891, but there's also 6 in 1...

What kind of math is this?!

Maybe the same way 7613, 8360, 31070, and 31089 race tracks?"

Bro doesn't understand a joke."

You're going to have to explain to me how going along with a joke means I don't get it.

71487 Z-Blob's Robot and Vehicle Adventures and 71488 Bunchu's Creative Animal Adventures are 20-in-1 and 2025 sets.

An all around great set. And a classic case of a creative building set with all the parts you need to make a plethora of vehicles due to the amount of wheels in it despite being a small set like 4096 Micro Wheels and 4109 Maximum Wheels.
Yeah... 2006 was a good year for Creator.

There are 10 more idea models in the instructions as well. I've done a quick count.

2006 Creator was just great like that. 4894 Mythical Creatures had those too.

By in United Kingdom,

Some of those alt builds look like they don’t use much of the main set, wonder if it’s possible to build a couple of them at once

By in Hungary,

This neat set got me to slowly awake out of my dark ages...
Probably because its four wide design brought me back to the LEGO vehicles of my 70's childhood...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

One of my favourite sets as a kid. So many possibilities! I remember spending hours trying to create all kinds of vehicles

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Still one of my favourite Creator Sets in my LEGO Collection. A perfect 6 in 1 Set with Lots of Possibilities to build apart from the Intstructions

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Life is a highway
And I wanna haul it
All night long...

I mean, hey, the set's even from the same year as the Pixar movie that featured that song... xD

2006 was also a high point for X-pods, which also use only a few parts but allow wide creativity.

I yearn for this era of Creator. So many great sets at a variety of prices. Each with a ton of build ideas and filling different niches in subjects. They really don't make them like this anymore.

2006 wasn't a bad year for Lego in general. They were past several missteps around 2000, Bionicle was in high gear (though I had long since lost track of lore myself), Exo Force, and Star Wars was beginning to come out but retained more of the classic Lego charm in yellow minifigs and blocker ships that left more to the imagination. The only downer was the moratorium on nonlicensed space themes from 2002 to 2006 that the SW license required.

Pretty cool looking set!

By in United Kingdom,

Nice parts pack, with the builds starting easy for say 4 year olds to harder for 6 year olds. Not sure how the car is meant to remain on the ramp at 45 degrees?

By in United States,

Why does this sound like a reality show

And technically, he _did_ haul a highway. Not very well at first, but the second time he got it right.

One of the first sets I bought out of my Dark Ages. What a great set!

Yeah, this set is great for Ten bucks.
That'd be roughly $16 to $17 in today's dollars.
Got me thinking what could you get for $16 and under today that's good for kids...
Luke Skywalker's Mech
Alien Pack (fun little sets for the kiddies).
Batman Mech
Venom Mech (w/two minifigs)
War Machine Mech
Harry Potters Flying Ford
Jungle Explorer ATV
Jay's Mech Battlepack (Four figs and a small mech)
Spider-Man vs Doc Ock
Race Plane
Surfing Dogs and Scooter Adventure
Wheel Loader
Iron Man Mech vs Ultron
Z-Blob's Robot and Vehicle Adventures (20 in 1 pack)
All the Race Car packs.
