Minecraft images are back...

Posted by ,

Several YouTube users have uploaded videos containing the Minecraft images that were released yesterday before being quickly removed. If there was any doubt that the horse had already bolted, Brickshop.nl have also now listed them with the products on their website.

I've uploaded the large images to the Brickset Flickr stream where you can see all six sets due for release next year.

As ever, let us know what you think in the comments below.

Thanks to larsyuipo, abg and jimred for sending in links to the images.

I've played Minecraft since 2011, and this is pretty much how I'd envision Lego Minecraft sets turning out. I like how Lego are encouraging people to build their own scenes, while the sets still look surprisingly well designed. Figures are spot-on and all the main characters are covered, plus some animals and varieties of armour. I'm impressed!

It's kind of funny how the Minecraft sets get back to the simpler building techniques and pieces. What's old is new again!

Edit: The free building and creative aspect is emphasized, as well as multiple builds.

I'm pretty sure that all six of these sets are due to release before next year (November, actually, if I recall correctly).

Anyway... these don't look half bad, actually. The Mine looks huge and full of playability! The shelter in The First Night can also open via hinges for easy access, which is nice. However, I'm most looking forward to the Crafting Box. I can spot a Mooshroom, furnace, and some cool inspiration we can build with the parts!

The End set is quite cool. Sure, the dragon is small. But like Smaug in The Hobbit sets, I don't thing we were expecting anything too mind-blowing. Also, light brick! I'm excited to collect a few of those Steve armor variants.

Alright, I'll admit it... I want them now.

Overall, it's good to see that some of my predictions for the theme were correct. True, the main models are rather simplistic (except the quite impressive 21118 ), but every set IS really pushing the ability to rebuild the set into your own original Minecraft creations. Each box features a callout saying "Build your own creations — inspiration included". And 21116 is even an "8 in 1" set with instructions for eight different models!

In a sense, these are basically a licensed version of the "Bricks & More" theme, much like the old Star Wars bucket from 2000. But this time, the license is much better suited to the product. This product should definitely appeal to both kids and wheezy old men who insist that "back in my day, it was all basic bricks". I'd like to see people complain that THESE are too specialized!

OK, my opinion has rather changed about these. From what I've played of the game, The First Night is quite accurate, and the rest look actually quite nice "in the brick." And the Ender Dragon is the proper way to do a brick-built dragon (looking at you, SMAUG), not to mention rather nicely done Endermen, a light brick, and diamond-armored Steve. One of my friend would want this just for that Steve. Is there a gold armor in there somewhere?

Have these been added to the database yet?

I'm so glad that these pictures confirm this is not a theme I want.

I had no idea what Minecraft was (I still don't really) outside of the official LEGO products. But I was worried there would be some cool new pieces I'd want. But thankfully I didn't see any in those pictures, so I can rest easy.

Well the sets definitely look better than the original images and while I'm certainly not a huge fan I may buy a set or two. I really like how they incurage kids to use their imaginations and build something else. If nothing else I like that they have brought back incuraging kids to build

Admittedly I have never played the game before (I'd like to someday), but that "The End" set has got to be the all-time absolute worst Lego set I have ever seen.

Not even being hyperbolic here. It's terrible.

I really like them.
I think the continued relationship between Lego and Minecraft is a very natural one to make. I always think of Minecraft as the computer game Lego should have made. I can see a lot of kids (and adults) making a leap from one over to the other, as although they are similar, one offers the online portability and the other a pleasurable tactile offline experience.

I think the sets themselves cover the essential fan elements and then the parts are the standard stuff in decent colours that I use in their thousands. So as both a Minecraft set and a parts pack it works for me.

The crafting pack as a pile of bricks is great. Well done for creating a set that emphaises a core value of both products.

The mine looks quite nice, the other ones look a little boring in my opinion.

I'm liking these a lot more than the Micro World sets. These seem a lot closer to the spirit of the game, with creativity being emphasised, and lots of playability.

Others have said that the End looks poor but the I think it is the best of the sets, with the Dragon in particular looking far more like its in-game counterpart than I expected.

As a Minecraft fan I think that all of these are a day one purchase for me!

J'aime bien le 21118,la ferme,la cave,la crafting box et la 21115 mais pas l'autre

I'm like the farm, first night and crafting box.
I would like to see better pictures of the mine before judging it. My first reaction is questioning how stable it would be.

@ChocolateCrisps I agree about The End. It's much better than the Micro World version, featuring diamond armor Steve, Endermen, some dark tan, and a really nice dragon. I probably won't get any of these, but if I did, it would be a toss-up between the Crafting Box and the Ender Dragon.

Going to buy all sets minus the one with "The End". I'm a creative mode player and so i have absolutely no "relationship" with it. I love how the mine looks and of course the little house. Well, I love them all to be honest. (My small income doesn't...)

fingers crossed they will make a Lego texture pack in Minecraft! I would have liked if they did like a promotion of the Lego sets in minecraft, with random codes you could put into minecraft for free tools and blocks in game... oh well.

@Lego91: You can enter the End in creative mode too y'know ^^ (I'm sure you now, just saying :D)

I absolutely adore these sets, can't wait to see high-res pictures <3

Okay, these new pics have made me change my opinion. I will probably pick up the Crafting Box, and possibly the Mine and First Night. The Cave and Farm sets don't seem lame now, as they work as nice little add ons to the larger sets.

The Ender Dragon is at micro scale actually ;)
