©2025 LEGO Group

Crowdfunding for BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 begins tomorrow, 10th June, at 8am PDT / 11am EDT / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST, and will end on 24th June.

Normally, I would predict that some of the sets, such as 910049 Adventure in Transylvania pictured, will sell out almost immediately. However, the maximum number that'll be produced this time around has not been disclosed: in the past it's been 30,000 of each, but I suspect it'll be 'as many as possible' this time.

We'll be reviewing the set, in brief, tomorrow morning.

Head on over to BrickLink to view them all and place your order, or check them out in our database.

Are you planning to order any?

By in Switzerland,

I thought I'd heard something about 30k somewhere? Am I hallucinating?

Planning on Transylvania, and that might be the end of my BLDP era. I've wanted a lot of classic castle theme reimaginings and this pretty much covers it. I know Wolfpack is getting one but I feel like they need to retain at least "OG only" crown.

By in United States,

These days, Min requirement is 3,000 and Max is 30,000 per set, @Huw . :o)

Wait, Brickset got more than 1 copy this time?

Wait, they are changing things?!?! What is happening?!?!

By in Germany,

I'm not planning on ordering any, but I like most of them. I just don't need any more sets at the moment. Quite the opposite, I have to massively reduce the size of my collection over the coming months.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Huw looks like they've set the limit at 30,000

By in United States,

Very Interesting....Bricklink has gone back and modified their FAQs. They appear to have changed any reference to "Up to 30,000 of each set will be manufactured during a limited, one-time production run" to a more generic, "Will produce a limited production of each set." They, however, still reflect a 30,000 max for Series 6, 7, and 8 so whatever they're doing with Series 5 may simply be a trial balloon.

Additionally, the FAQs note that, "Each crowdfunding period will be 3-4 weeks" yet Series 5 crowdfunding has been reduced to 2 weeks. Might this be related to the removal of a maximum limit? My recollection is that previous series had a 4 week crowdfunding but Bricklink has removed the timeline information from those series.

This is all fascinating when you consider their recent supplemental sale of previous BLDP Series sets. And based on the awesomeness of Series 5, maybe they were worried that they'd be leaving too much money on the table by enforcing a max?

By in Italy,

Transylvania is my only choice, but it's supposed to sell out pretty fast. If I can get it, good... if I don't... it doesn't matter.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Translvania set should have been a regular retail release, especially given it's scope and popularity. If I can get one, it'll become a vacation spot for the Cullen family, oh and Bella too, I suppose.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Want Transylvania zn Tortuga. First time I will buy from the bricklink program. But my wallet will hurt a lot...

By in Canada,

Getting the Mushroom Village to go with my Mushroom House!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I've bought at least one in each series from the beginnin, but having built a couple of the larger ones, I find that the lack of printed instructions diminishes their desirability for me. It doesn't feel the same, especially if you take weeks to build a set, during a free 15 minutes here and there, a few pages at a time, the way I usually do.

TLC should offer an option to send printed instructions for extra cost.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Luckily there isn't a medieval castle this time, so I my wallet can take a breath... Oh wait, there's a 300+ bucks pirate island I need, never mind. (And some San Diego Comic Con pre-orders, yikes!)

Definitely interested in the Antique Shop, and maybe the Popcorn Wagon.

Last one I ordered was Brick Cross, but ended up seeing sense and cancelling due to lack of space for a railway layout!

By in United States,

This is all so knee jerk. They removed 30,000 from the FAQ and Macro Series Timeline but each Series 5 set still denotes 30,000 in its individual Set Timeline.

They're going to mess this up, somehow. Lol.

It's certainly unclear. The email from them earlier stated 'Only a limited run of sets will be released' but it was crossed out, I figured to make the point that it was not limited this time.

By in United States,

Overheard during the most recent Internal LEGO Weekly Planning session...

LEGO Bosses: Series 5 goes on order Tuesday.
Bob from Accounting: We are seeing an increased level of interest online for this series...
Sheila from IT: We'll be sure to take some of the servers offline for maintenance that morning
LEGO Bosses: Why again are we only making 30,000 per set?
Bob from Accounting: We only get 95% of the profits on these and artificially limiting the number of sets increases interest and FOMO. We are also already overbooked, producing tiger faces and weird space ship skate park police apartments.
LEGO Bosses: Foam what? Who made that deal? Remove any mention of a 30,000 limit from some but not all areas of the website and renegotiate with the designers.
Alice from Operations: If we book more than 150,000 sets, we're going to be short on personnel and packaging.
LEGO Bosses: Move that last person left in Color Quality Control over to Outbound Processing and follow our Mr. Gold process for when and how often to use paper packaging.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gonna try to get the Mushroom Village. Got the house, and would love to expand the display!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

None from Series 5 are worth (for me) the asking price, the castle is nice but I have no idea what to do with if I were to get and build one. The program as a whole is a bit too "MOCy" for my eyes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I keep looking at these with the hope that I can 'dismiss' at least one of the 3 i've chosen. Not happening... so i'll order the castle, Tortuga and the mushroom village then have 6 months to find £800.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like the Antique Shop, but I may pass this time. There's still a huge backlog for sets planned EOL this year that I would like to buy.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Drooling about The Thieves of Tortuga. The pre reviews are encouraging. Not having it, don't have the funds. Life is much more than LEGO. I will download the instructions, though. The minifigures and pieces are not exclusives, someday I'll have the money to have the minimum required. For those who can afford it, and love Pirates, go for it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

All the sets for this round are great. Personally I plan to get Transylvania & Tortuga.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Transylvania and Tortuga definitely, maybe the Popcorn wagon, though I'll be spending more than I did on the previous series for the same number of sets.

Even when it's in pay in three, which I hope to do, as I did with the last lot, it still hurts.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Hopefully the Mushroom Village will last a few hours and I’ll not need to set an alarm for the middle of the night.

Good luck to everyone wanting Transylvania and Tortuga.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tick, tick, tick.

Like Austin, I should downsize. But, I'm getting Castle, Pirates, Mushroom. On the fence about popcorn and antiques.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’m definitely getting the antique store, but I’ve gotta say, this is one of (if not the) best waves of the BDP. They all look really good! From everything I’ve heard, they will increase the production for this series only, but I don’t think there’s a set number that is open to the public. I’m sure they’ll cap it at something not super higher than the 30,000 but who knows.

Can we PLEASE post in English, or at least post in both English and whatever you speak above it? Some of these above posts Google translate doesn't work for, and as the website itself is in English, it just makes sense from a readability standpoint. Would you like it if every post Brickset made was in Welsh or Latin?

Latin: 'Lego desinendum est adglutinare, quia malum est.'

OR

Welsh: 'Dylai Lego roi'r gorau i wneud sticeri gan ei fod yn ddrwg.'

OR

English: 'Lego should stop making stickers as it is bad.'

By in Canada,

Mushroom Village and maybe the Antique Store.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm sitting this one out, for the first time. Really like the Transylvania castle / haunted house, but I have no need of it, other than somewhere for my 9464-1 Monster Hunters Vampyre Hearse to live.
Very interested to see what happens with the increased maximum production, but I instinctively do not like the way it has been communicated, and the retroactive removal of mentions of the production limit and pre-order length from the Bricklink website that others are reporting.

Hopefully this series goes well, and folks get what they're after!

Hey! I'm so glad you reached out.

I’m actually at capacity by helping someone who’s in crisis dealing with what BLDS 5 sets to get, and I don’t think I can hold appropriate space for you.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

The pro thing about Tortuga is that you only need a ship and you have a great pirate lay-out. I don’t have a pirate lay ouy yet, so may be i should get this one. It is the perfect pirate newbie set. Plus you can use it for One Piece as well.

The pro thing about Transylvania is that it is just beautiful. What a great color combination. Plus you can fit all your spooky minifigs overthere.

The pro thing about the mushroom world is that it is freaking cute and very fun with all those builds for mushrooms and flowers. Very good for mixing with fantasy minifigs.

The bad thing is that they cost money and use space. I’ve got me some thinking to do.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want all of them, but that’s a little past my current LEGO budget, so going for my “needs”, Mushroom Village & Thieves of Tortuga!

Good one.

Seriously though, I plan on clearing out that part of my collection by three means: Bricklink, Ebay, and via the internal marketplace of the company I work for. The former two for smaller and medium sized sets that are easier to ship, and the latter for the larger and rarer sets that are better sold locally / directly. It's all just a matter of time and logistics really.

The thing is, I have amassed over a thousand sets over the last twelve years or so, and most of them never got opened and built but went into storage in the attic or at my parents' house "for a rainy day" that never came. I have dozens of sets that are now considered valuable by collectors and since I don't see myself ever getting around to building them I would be stupid not to sell them on, make some money in the process and give someone else the chance to enjoy opening a MISB set they might have been looking for for a long time and never gotten it due to it only being available for insane amounts of money by scalpers. Of course I am no charity either and I am not giving them away for free (I am not that rich that I could afford to do that), but I am not looking for insane amounts of profit either, so my asking prices will always be the cheapest for a MISB copy in that condition then available on the platform I choose to sell the set on, be it Bricklink, ebay or wherever.

All completely understandable. I'm in the same situation (except the parents part).

Unfortunately, the sets I would be interested in are older (70s-80s Classic Space) than 12 years ago. I have everything (I think) from that era.

Much of my collection is NISB, going back to the late 90’‘s/early aughts. I have my own little toy store and it makes me so happy. On good days, I let myself shop. :o)

I can’t imagine ever opening 10182 Cafe Corner (value) or 6766 Rapid River Village (beauty) but I often hear the sirens of 70709 Galactic Titan and 10219 Maersk Train. I’ll strap myself to the mast and hope the children focus on City and Creator, ignoring my original white whale 10179.
