Posted by ,

The BrickHeadz double-pack 40760 Adventure Peely & Cuddle Team Leader is a gift with purchase at LEGO.com at the moment, free with purchases over £115/$130/€130 until the 11th of August.

Summary

40760 Adventure Peely & Cuddle Team Leader, 258 pieces.

Decent blocky representations of two popular skins

Reference

I'm indebted to SetToBuild for informing me that these are skins for characters that have been in the game for some time, and that Peely is particularly popular among kids.

Whether you are familiar with them or not, I think you'll agree that these BrickHeadz interpretations have turned out well, given the limitations of the format.

The bear is particularly resplendent in bright purple and, of course, these being BrickHeadz, all the decorated elements on her are printed.

Other than the ears, which are very cleverly integrated into the head, the figure is standard BrickHeadz fare.

To be honest, I'm not really getting banana vibes from this one: it's not a shape that translates well to the blocky format. His goggles, waistcoat, red cravat, and belt are all present and correct though.

I suspect that this GWP has limited appeal among AFOLs but, nevertheless, if you do end up acquiring one, you may well find a use for the 61 bright purple pieces in it.

I can't wait to see how many people choose NOT to order to simply avoid these. lol.

I have recently fallen for Brickheadz and these look fine, though I have no connection to the source material.

Why isn't this Peely Bone half peeled, like 77072? Would have made it a lot more interesting...

Not sure why you'd want to specifically avoid them. Even if you don't know or care about the source material (I'm in this camp) and even if you don't like brickheadz (I'm in this camp too), nobody's saying you have to build and display it. Just break it down for parts and enjoy a few free pieces.

We placed an order to get it. Our kid is into fortnight so it makes for a good stocking stuffer. I will also be checking eBay to see if it's worth selling. Fortnight has a large following of people. The fortnight sets were out of stock around Christmas and selling for around double. I was unaware at the time or I would have sold the sets I purchased as gifts

Some folks seemingly have a deep aversion to Brickheadz.

Or, of course, just sell it on Bricklink or eBay.

@TheNameWasTaken some people, myself included, wait with spending till a decent GWP appear.
Decent meaning they like the set or they set is sellable if you don't like it.

@TheOtherMike that didn't work well with 40728

I have never built a Brickheadz or Fortnite set before, but I still placed an order to get this set just to see what they are all about! The wacky and vibrant characters speak to me, even if I know nothing about the source material.

By in United Kingdom,

No knowledge or interest in Fortnite but these look pretty reasonable as Brickheadz, whatever they're supposed to be! Ordered with a few sets I wanted that are unlikely to get reduced and/or are nearing retirement. Plus I wanted 5009408!

Got the Creator 3in1 castle. This is coming with it, but I couldn’t care less. They look well executed though, I’ll give them that. Maybe I can sell it to make the Star Wars wave not a budget buster. At least I avoiding the Spidey series…

I was always purchasing 75640 so any GWP is sweet in my eyes. I collect SW and LOTR Brickheadz so I appreciate the aesthetic. All good here! Patiently awaiting delivery! Enjoy your purchases all. Plus I have never played/will never play Fortnite. But I like the design/palletes on these. They’re cool.

I saw someone saying they weren't going to purchase anything to avoid this gwp just to send the message to Lego that "Fortnite bad, no buy."

By in Germany,

I wouldn't dream of ordering directly from LEGO, especially at the moment with RRPs on average being as overpriced as never before.
And such a Meh GWP is one more reason for not doing so.

I’d prefer Minifigs but I’ll take something Fortnite over nothing

I just want Pick-A-Brick to restock all their items. Then I can place an order and sell the GWP to recoup some of the cost. Are PAB restocks ever announced in advance? does anyone know where to get any info on when it'll happen?

The pink one reminds me of the bunny(?) suit in the movie Free Guy.

nice. thank you for updating me! I just looked at it and it seems the new parts from April, like the 1x2 cheese slope in LBG are there, but they still haven't restocked most "out of stock" parts. so I'll hold of on the next order for a while, until I can get everything at once.
