The set contains 697 pieces and a gingerbread Darth Vader minifigure, with space for him by the fireplace inside! The price of £54.99, $59.99 or €59.99 seems quite reasonable at first glance and the AT-AT will be released on October 1st.

By in Spain,

They are goin' crazy....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Fun, I am sure plenty will enjoy picking this up over the holiday period. I'll be hoping for a discount before bothering but will probably pick up at some point.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I love everything about this, this is great :D

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Here! Have all my moneyz!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not at all a Star Wars fan. But this set is really neat.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This is the first star wars set I've been interested in picking up since 75258

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Novelty...Christmas...Star Wars Fun....yep, this is right up my alley.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is actually incredible lmao

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I mean, I don't even really like SW, and I still think this is awesome on every level.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is really really fun, it's a shame they couldn't throw in a gingerbread stormtrooper to pilot (or even just a snow trooper), but this is so nice. A little pricey, but not as bad as other sets of late, and seems a neat continuation of the Rebuild the Galaxy tradition.

Gravatar
By in Panama,

Oh my goodness, I must have this! And I don't collect Star Wars....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Such a great Star Wars holiday set. I think it was a good idea for them to slightly scale down the AT-AT since I doubt many people would buy a $150-170 set only to use for 1-2 months of the year.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Yes, they spend the money earned on the August wave very wisely

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Fun idea, but not for me.
I would likely buy a regular AT-AT this size.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Where's the large warning sign "Children's toy - Do not eat!" across all sides of the box for our friends across the pond for whom even Kinder Eggs are a lethal health risk?
;-)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Don't care much for christmas and not the biggest SW fan either, but love this! I can totally see myself buying this!

Throw in a gingerbread Snowspeeder as GWP, and I might even order it from Lego ;-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

This looks great! I’m honestly quite surprised at the $60, too! I was thinking $65-70, and the rumors had been $80! Super excited about this, and will be getting it at some point close to release. This scale for an AT-AT is kinda neat, and it’s nice that it still fits everything. I’d pay $20 just for the Vader too, his cape is incredible! Awesome set, and I’ll be glad to get it!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Very tempting

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

AT-AT stands for Absolutely Tremendous, Amazingly Terrific!

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Apr... uh... september fools!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Didn’t think I would like it, but this is a fun looking set to build with your kids for Xmas.
Now my kid getting older doing his own thing (but still loves LEGO) I’ll build it! ;)
Us big kids need our Xmas LEGO too!
Ooo look at that cute Ginger Bread Vader.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looking forward to several rumoured seasonal sets to challenge my wallet... Thankfully this isn't one of them!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

The cape looks great, love the sugarcane blasters and the icing on the cake is the icing on the feet

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Gingerbread Darth Vader knows what you're getting for Christmas... because he has felt your presents!!!

(Sorry)

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

With 10267 Gingerbread House it would be abso-gingerbread-y awesome.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is really cute!

Though I kind of wish the leg joints were recolored to dark orange/white to match the rest of the legs (recolors that I could also see being useful for things like Ninjago dragons in the future).

Gravatar
By in United States,

I always really like when they do the Star Wars Christmas stuff. This is a fun new addition to that! Not sure that I’ll be getting it, because there’s too many other things on my wishlist, but I really like this!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love it. It’s so out of left field, but is delightful. Now I want more though…

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It looks like an employee gift set. I wonder if they made this one more widely available in response to 4002019.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

This is actually awesome, something different.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I doubt I'll buy this. But I think it looks like great fun (and very funny :)!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can’t wait to pick this up!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Love it, will go brilliantly with my festive X-Wing!

Ahem, I think you mean 'Star Wars Holiday Special'. Happy Life Day to all!

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Perfect buddy for my X-max X-wing

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where have our standards fallen when $60 seems reasonable or generous for this? I see a $40 set looking at this.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is the perfect combination of Lego's sense of humour, Star Wars, Christmas and just fun. I sadly don't own any of the Christmas models they've released over the years, but I can totally see this being a fun addition to the scene!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Even better than last year's Winter Village set. Would've been perfect if it had Nutcracker Stormtroopers.

Gravatar

@zanthrax said:

I definitely would as well, I love compact builds like this.

I'll pick this one up for sure, but have no doubt that people will be reverse-engineering it back to a normal AT-AT as soon as instructions go up. And probably an AT-ACT as well for that matter.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Could this be the start of a series of Star Wars gingerbread models?

Let’s hope so!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh gosh I love it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well I guess it’s as close as I’ll get to a gingerbread Death Star. I’ll get it!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'd gotten fed up with Star Wars sets lately, but this is something I didn't know I wanted.

I agree with @Heriol in that I think a second mini-fig would have made it as it could have done with a dedicated driver fig. Maybe a candy-stripe trooper for contrast, but a Gingerbread Trooper would have been cool too.

Does make me wonder though if down the line we'll get a this redone in normal universe styling as a cheaper alternative to the larger AT sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love this. I would buy an entire gingerbread line if they made one.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yeah, that is bizarre....

Love it, though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It is true, the dark side does have cookies. :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

From the comments it appears popular with non-star wars fans. It's cute I suppose in a fun way but I'd rather they focus on making something decent for the SW line then quirky sets won't seem such an outlier. Bah humbug I know!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ok, this is awesome. Hits me right in the quadrant of Star Wars seasonal offerings that I adore. Picking this up for sure!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No, the calendar shows its clearly not April…
It’s coming to eat the Wonka garden.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love it, but I don't $60 love it. For the size, it should be only $40, $50 max.
Also, I'm gonna be that guy - I wish this was a GWP. Even if the threshold was $200. Something cool, unique, and substantial is what LEGO needs to offer if they want me to spend money during the holidays. The usual holiday GWPs have been nothing but boring rubbish for the past 3-4 years. Not that my wallet is complaining about that.

Gravatar
By in France,

Thanks to whoever designed this, I like gingerbread now

Gravatar
By in United States,

I won't be buying it, but this looks excellent! The scaling looks really good, and I love the originality! I wouldn't mind seeing more sets like this for fun festive times. This and Rebuild the Galaxy are quite refreshing takes on Star Wars. I do agree that a second figure would have been perfect, but they already had to make quite a few recolors and new prints for Vader. A regular snow trooper could work, but I also foresee people complaining about it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What a fun set! That Vader looks amazing. Pleasantly surprised at the price, hopefully Costco will carry this one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm wondering if Vader uses a new head print. Speaking of Vader, that makes three colors his helmet's been molded in. Who'da thunk it?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I didn't know I needed this in my life...

"This set looks extremely fragile, just like the turbo tank.
Very many small pieces, very little substance.
I like the cape, though.

Otherwise this set should not cost more than 20, maybe 25 bucks.
It's very small and consist of pieces not worth 2 ct each.

What is the piece price per kg?"

I think this sums up how completely out of touch the complaints about prices have got. What appears to be a reasonably priced set - not cheap but it is Star Wars - still attracts a ridiculous claim that it should be half the price.

I suppose at least it appears to be a one-off complaint.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The empire is invading the winter village

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is fantastic--I don't think my budget is prepared to absorb the usual Winter Village purchase, and the usual gifts, -and- a SW Christmas theme... but it sure is great!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks cute but also $20 overpriced

Gravatar
By in United States,

A cute set that'd be more tempting with a lower price.

There's a SERIOUS missed opportunity to do a candy cane lightsaber out of Trans-Red (with white printing for optimal effect), but I guess you get three of a rare element either way.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

HOth, HOth, HOth!
Christmas came early this year despite walking...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where is the US price?

Makes me nervous that Lego isn't going to sell it here in the states as tariff retribution.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can't wait to pick it up on after-season clearance because that price is way off the mark.

Gravatar

We do not speak of it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like it, but could we get a normal AT-AT of a similar size at some point? Us broke people want big walkers too.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

When I saw the leak, I was quite disappointed. But when the images revealed I was quite the opposite.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It’s adorable!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Like many others, I have no real interest in LEGO Star Wars beyond some interesting minifigures but I like this for the randomness and potential to disrupt Winter Village. Shame they didn’t use the opportunity to add some extra gingerbread figures via the advent calendar.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That armor is too tough for milk. Wedge, I'm going to need a strong cup of coffee!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Saw the picture while scrolling earlier and just assumed was a MOC promotion, but fun to see them actually putting it out there. Rebuild te Xmas decor! Flaming speeder and frosted walker, I’m ready for non grey SW

Gravatar
By in United States,

The rare Star Wars set that has a pretty decent price per piece ratio, though I have to wonder who would want this monstrosity lol.

edit:
I see I'm in the minority here ha.

The set had not been added to LEGO.com in North America at the time of publication and I am hesitant to guess US prices at the moment, but it has now been added and the US price will be $59.99.

Looks to be ~8” tall, so “big” seems a bit generous.

You b******s, Lego: you've done it again.
There was me whinging on constantly about all those licensed sets and then you come up with two that I'm actually going to buy. With money. This one and the Wall-E/Eve.

I can confirm:

It’s also $80 CAD if anyone was wondering. ;)

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Wha?? This is just...silly.

I'll take three, please.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

What is the point of this? It looks ridiculous! It's not really Star Wars. It's not really Christmas. Absolutely terrible!

Anyway ... I'll be picking up a few of these so that they can stomp their way through my Winter Village setup. Festive AT-AT vs Winter Holiday Train - it's got to happen!

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

That's so cute, and has chocolate Vader too... And there is a fire place in it... Nice!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Whoah, I guess this is the winner of this year's "Who would buy something like this? Oh, I kinda want it" contest.

Honestly I have no idea where to put this in my mind.

Just sad this isn't the original Vader helmet.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Username28 said:

The proper sized AT-AT is the UCS. There isn't much point to any other AT-AT set (unless seasonal) now.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

This is fantastic in every conceivable way!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As well as great display looks like a fun kids playset, just needs Luke hanging from the fairy lights and candy stick shooters.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is this for boomer grandmas?
It would be fine as a MOC, fun in fact but I am honestly not seeing how this has found its way in to the official range.

Gravatar
By in France,

I really don't need it, but I might just have to add it to my Winter Village, no idea where I'd put it mind.

Gravatar
By in Japan,

I reckon Lego must've been scanning people's dreams (or DreamzzZZ) and minds deeply to come up with a set like this that they every SW fan, Lego SW fan, AND non-SW fans will enjoy. As I said before, new takes on long established franchises is what refreshes them immensely!!

Now then, all we need is a Candy Cane X-Wing Fighter with Candy Luke Skywalker minifig (or Santa!)

Gravatar

I believe the point was less about how easy it is to acquire and more that it isn’t much of a surprise that a lot of people would be unaware of an employee only gift.

ETA: A christmassy Snowspeeder would be most excellent though. Hint hint Lego for next year. Hint hint hint.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Also, I very much agree that a more typical grey livery AT-AT of this scale would also be lovely. Affordable (relatively speaking) and shelf-friendly, what’s not to love?

Technically it’s not an “employee only” gift. For probably at least a decade, they’ve been giving them out to members of the LEGO Ambassador Network as well. It’s also, from what I understand, the _ONLY_ exception to the “Thou Shalt Not Sell LEGO Products” rule that all LEGO employees are required to abide by on pain of termination (their job, not their life).

And while much of the general public may be oblivious to such things, these gifts are regularly featured on AFOL websites like this one:

https://brickset.com/article/47493/this-year-s-employee-christmas-gift-revealed

Newcomers may not have known about it, but anyone who’s been frequenting nearly any AFOL site, or following TLG on social media, since Fall 2019 should have heard about it. They know these things are big with us, and do publicly announce them.

"ETA: A christmassy Snowspeeder would be most excellent though. Hint hint Lego for next year. Hint hint hint."

I’d already been planning to try to adapt the 75074 Snowspeeder to match the X-Mas-Wing, but now I may have to Gingerbread the AT-AT from 75075 or 75298.

And if they do ever get around to revisiting the X-Mas-Wing, I really hope it’s either a Microfighter, or that it’s based on the truly excellent, and properly scaled, version from 75301, and not the ocean freighter design they used for around 20 years.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This set could be the cause of some arguments this Christmas. :)

"Honey. How about we leave your Grandmother's Nativity in the box this year and put this on the mantle instead?"

If they were following those venues *in* 2019, sure. But otherwise coming across it through anything but deep dives through the archives and random chance is unlikely, and it’s quite a few years since 2019. It really isn’t that weird for a sizeable number of people, even Brickset commenters, to be unfamiliar with kits from six years ago, and given its limited availability it’ll be even less well-known than is typical for its contemporaries.

I’m all in favour of more microfighters in general, and pretty christmassy microfighters would be a delight.

WUT!!!?? Day one purchase! Lego is at its best when it makes these super fun mash-ups - can't wait to build this!!!!

Gravatar

I hope this becomes an annual thing.. I would love to have a ChristmasCookie Snowspeeder with a string of Christmas lights to go with this model. Also, it is going to lookngreat next to the big gingerbread house and the small ones

Gravatar

This is so stupidly silly looking I may just have to buy one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have a regular Darth Vader and the Jedi Vader so I might just get this to complete the trio. Darth Vader is becoming a new classic space man with all these colors. It's a shame he didn't get arm printing to match with the other two but that's being nitpicky for this amazing set

Gravatar

No LEGO No!
I'm trying to cut back on LEGO expences, so don't come up with magnificent stuff like this!
How can I not really, really, really want this for christmas!?
