Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas

just2good continues his series of 2015 official image reveals today with a video of the upcoming DC Universe sets. The focus for next year seems to be Justice League, which is pretty cool since it gives us some nice new figures and pieces. Not only are we getting new big-figures of Gorilla Grodd and Darkseid but we also see new figures such as Black Manta, Cyborg, and many more. I haven't managed to look at all of them too closely yet, however I especially like the new variant of Green Arrow with his hood down. just2good says he'll be uploading Speed Chamions tonight and/or Ninjago tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Edit: I've added the images to the database so you don't need to waste time watching a video of static pictures -- Huw

I cant wait to get the Gorrilla Grodd, Green Lantern, and the Darkseid sets.

How much do you all think Gorrilla Grodd set will be. That is my favorite so far I must say. Especially the banana cart. Its a great touch. The build on the invisible jet leaves much to be desired. TheBatmech is very cool.

^ My guess is an RRP of $50.

Looks great! Happy to see Green arrow and cyborg finally.

By in United States,

^^That's a lot for 300 pcs.

I love these sets. Still full of Batman, but there is just enough variation for me to take a slight interest.

^It has a bigfig, and those are notorious for price hikes.

Oh, man. These are awesome. I love the banana cart--classic LEGO humor at work. Black Manta Deep Sea Strike rather disappoints me, but I'm loving the lack of Batman prevalence. If we go by the prelims of Brainiac Attack, the new heroes are Cyborg, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, and Hawkman. That's a new record, right?

I wonder what the deal is with Hawkman's wings... there appear to be two separate plastic wing parts, one for flight and one for riding in the Javelin... and Darksied looks REALLY TERRIBLE. He's looking down and has a really ugly face, not to mention the outfit is an epic failure.

I'd say they are $20, $50, $40-$50 and $60-$70. It's LEGO they are always overpriced.

He just uploaded Speed Champions. Ninjago Tomorrow.

OMIGOODNESS!!! Hawkman, Cyborg and Green Arrow! Still holding onto hope against all rational thinking for Firestorm...

By in Australia,

I love that Batman has a mecha (of course he does), and the invisible jet is great too. But the real highlight of the Grodd set is Grodd, plus Captain Cold (which I didn't expect!).

I can't see the picture too well, who's the captured hero in the Aquaman/Black Manta set?

And then Hawkman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Darkseid *and* a Javelin? Sweet!

I have to agree that it's wrong to remove the link to your source. Beyond that it's simply better journalistic practice to include it, it's only fair to just2good who the deserves credit *and* pageviews/linkbacks for coming up with the pics in the first place.

By in United States,

Agreed about the link removal. There should be an update to the database as you have included, but still include the original YouTube link. It's just as fast to watch the video as it is to page through the database.

I love the Darkseid one! Speed Champions is out now, and I'm getting some of those too!

Ok that invisible jet is the bee's knees. I mean all this trans clear parts!!! It's like they took a wish list of non-production parts and made something out of it!

Totally awesome.

By in United States,

It wouldn't be a set that includes The Flash without a banana or two.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was wondering whether I should purchase the subpar Riddler chase set just to get Flash, but this Gorrila set answers that question. A mech plus the invisible jet? My boys and I can't wait.

By in United States,

What's a "Super Jumper"?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm SO excited for the Invisible Jet! Since the reveal that LEGO was doing DC set at SDCC a few years ago I've dreamed of an Invisible Jet set. I do wish it was bigger, the main focus of the set, but I'm just so happy to see that we're finally getting one.

I will be getting all of these sets, and the Brainiac set with Supergirl.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What could these "super jumpers" be?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Speed Champions pics posted, FYI

By in United Kingdom,

Agree about the dissatisfaction with removal of the video link. Credit should be given where credit is due.

By in Canada,

It's about time that they got away from 99% Batman sets... although I note that Batman is still in all but one set. Are they sticking with Justice League, or will fans see other DC properties as well?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Chiming in on the video removal. Credit your source properly.

By in Australia,

Some really cool characters here, nice that they are finally expanding beyond Batman.

I hope that large blue flame piece on the Invisible Jet becomes available in more sets.

I agree that the link should probably remain, but I also agree with Huw, that videos of pictures are a waste of time. If you want to post a picture, then do it somewhere like Flickr or something; videos of pictures are just annoying (for me at least). I'm glad they're in the database now, as I probably wouldn't have bothered with the video, but it makes sense that the link should stay up, for those who would watch the video.

Thanks of course to Just2Good for his reveals :)

Well, it's always been Just2good's style to make news slideshow videos, and since he had them, that's what he did. I don't think it is a waste of time.
LEGO's finally moving out of their Bat-comfort zone! I don't want an absence of Batman (and LEGO is only including him so much to mileage out of the new cowl mould), but I'm glad to see new heroes!
This year alone we got the Flash, Martian Manhunter (now two of him), Hawkman, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Supergirl, and Plastic Man to expand the Justice League!

By in United States,

Now for some Marvel!

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ We won't be seeing Marvel. None is in the winter wave.
^ If the jet is the same, the design was very well hidden! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Amazing, amazing, amazing sets. Finally we get some top level DC villains(Captain Cold is way old school and a nice surprise), and tons and tons of JLA heroes! Hawkman! Cyborg! Green Arrow! I'm excited, but my wallet is not.

By in United States,

Compared to the version of the Invisible Jet that appeared in the DC Super Heroes Visual Dictionary (page 70), this one is a poor interpretation. Hopefully the pieces included in the set can be reconfigured into something more aesthetically pleasing, otherwise I may have to MOC the heck out of it.

Still quite pleased that we're getting the silly thing at all, just disappointed that the sketch preview is so much better than the realized version.

One side benefit to all these new sets: we're gonna need a bigger Batcave for the Dark Knight's new vehicles. Batsub AND Batmech? Yes, please!

By in Canada,

Gah! These sets are awesome!! I'm pretty stoked I passed on the Riddler chase, I didn't want to pay $40CDN for the Flash when I already have Riddler and about 32 Batmans (Batmen?). I'll definitely be getting the Gorilla Grodd, Darkseid and Green Lantern sets! Not to mention, Batmech?? SWEET. It's been awhile since they released a Bat-vehicle I've gotten excited about. And Space Batman looks awesome as well. I could go on, but I probably shouldn't.

OK, what the heck. Cyborg? Hawkman?? Green Arrow?!? OK, have to go and calm down now. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got to say my favorite minifigures coming in this wave are Black Manta and Green Lantern. I never expected to get a Black Manta, and we have waited far too long for Green Lantern. Everyone else is obviously welcome with open arms!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I really like the Darkseid Invasion set mainly because of that vehicle. Even though I don't read any DC Comics, I might get Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas too.
