Friends Advent Calendar - Day 9

We started to get some more festive builds with yesterday's hearth - a perfect setting for the Friends' sleepover. I hope this is the start of a trend.
It looks like it is! Today we have a lovely writing table with a candle and some more festive greenery. Obviously one of the activities the Friends will be participating in during the sleepover will be writing letters to Santa. One missive is ready here, and I like that the pen has a dark coloured ink (I'm so used to seeing the pens be purple!).
Like the hearth, dark green leaves and red hearts are used for accents which I really like. The candle is a nice touch too, though I really hope the correspondence doesn't get too close to that enormous flame.

My mom loves purple. A few decades ago, she was paying for gas. Her checkbook cover was purple, her pen was purple and she had at least one other purple item on her. (Purse or item of clothing or something, quite possibly both.) The clerk looked at her and said, "Lady, couldn't you find a purple car?"
